I've never heard that a late degree first meeting ASC means the relationship won't last. Actually if you think of it, if two people meet and then the transiting ASC moves into a new sign quickly, and the chart ruler changes, it might signify that the two people really hit it off! Consider a transiting ASC moving into a Venus sign minutes after the two shook hands. Tensions may have started melting, and they might associate that feeling with each other. Then the first meeting chart might signify the potential for change with each other...change isn't easy and critical degrees are intense but that's what some people are looking for...a relationship that helps them evolve.

See that’s what I thought honestly. That something like a transition into a new ascendant might mean a new transformation in the relationship. For context in my particular situation, this is a person I have been talking to for almost 2 years via FaceTime and we have just met in may for the first time In person. I would say it’s just as great in person and definitely nothing downhill. I would think meeting in person is quite a new transformation to a relationship especially when the entirety of it was virtual! also we have a very heavy 8th house. I’m talkin sun, moon, mercury, Uranus, north node and Jupiter! Which for sure to me spells transformative in some way! And yes ours would go from Virgo to libra which now that you mention it makes sense it brings something new to the relationship that distance was keeping us from getting to for the time being.

You know I’ve never thought of looking at the draconic chart ! I know mostly of the composite, synastry and Davison. What does the draconic chart show with connections?? Going to make one now!

Would you use equal house or placidus for that chart btw? For the first meet chart I’ve seen a lot suggesting to use equal house system!

I'm curious which first meeting chart you use: meeting online or in person?

I don't know much about these charts and haven't taken them very seriously so I'm not the best person to talk to. In my opinion, draconic charts can show fated connections or they put a twist on the straightforward reading. For example, draconic Venus conjunct a tropical planet will sweeten that tropical planet or potentially put romance in the mix. I just use Placidus for everything because it's the default setting for astro.com and I defer to their judgment as professional astrologers -- I figure they must have done that for a reason (which I don't fully understand).

I'm obsessed with FMC's! First impressions and all. In my head canon, they show the energy surrounding the first encounter. Just like I would use a certain moment's chart to see the energy at that moment. Roughly, charts = energy. 'Wish I had more FMC's, or at least remembered more.

I do use them in conjunction with their draconic versions.

I’ve roughly looked at both and honestly both seem to be accurate thus far anyways. The online one I think showed what we were wanting from each other initially and how that’s shifted once meeting in person. The one I’m most recently looking into is the in person one. I looked at an overlay of the FMC draconic of tropical and I don’t see any in the ascendant. Also, By tropical planet do you mean the natal charts planets? I’m just new to using the term but looked it up just to educate myself hehe. Do you only look at the conjunctions they make to the draconic chart?

Yes! They are fascinating to me too. I’ve read where some people still felt them even years later. Draconic is a new type of chart but I’m so fascinated by it. I’ve also been super in to declinations like parallel and contra-parallel which add a whole other dimension to all charts. The tropical chart just refers to the standard Western astrological chart, where the sun is at 0° Aries on the vernal equinox in the northern hemisphere. So that can be any kind of chart: natal, FMC, composite, harmonic chart, etc.

Here I was asking about first meeting chart, whether anything came up in the "Comparison natal-draconic" chart, which is offered as a chart type at astro.com. And yes, when they say "natal" there, they are just referring to any tropical chart, whether it's a birth or event chart, unless someone has specified sidereal (ie Vedic). That was just a point of curiosity for me. I wonder about overlays and what people's experiences are with them.

I do think each individual's natal chart is relevant here. Any heavy emphasis on a particular degree might say a lot; transits to that degree may indicate pivotal times in the relationship. Well you sound like you know enough astrology, that you already know that.

This has been my experience with a certain fmc. It seems to still be in Play, though the Meeting has been years ago. I cannot say If this is coincidence though.

I see! Yea I have definitely started to notice the importance of the natal charts because it changes what the other charts really even mean to the people. Also! Random thing I recently have gotten kinda excited about? I recently downloaded the “ask AI” app which was more of a for fun and curiosity for me but what is wild is it really elaborates on answers that I even have a hard time compiling myself via my own google research and have recently been asking AI what it knows on astrology and have found it quite accurate thus far. It’s crazy cause I don’t feel I have to be the most detailed in my questions for it to understand and know how to answer. So I previously had commented about late ascendant in first meet chart and this is what AI said:

What’s wild is this is SO INCREDIBLY accurate to how I feel about this relationship and us. It’s so true. I personally haven’t found this definition from googling though I’m sure it’s there somewhere! We both have been through the relationships and therapy and what have you that has matured us to the point where our relationship is built from this more matured and genuine place.

I know some use different house systems. This image is with placidus but if I use equal house, sun is in 8th and mars is in 11th. Either way a heavy 8th house!
