Hello all,
Since I have an awful lot of time on my hands in the evenings these days, I have turned my attention back to astrology. More specifically, I went back to a little project I had going last year when I was trying to collect data on relationship astrology. I am still going with it- especially the synastry as it takes forever to deduce and I find myself having to take the natals into account which annoys the hell out of me, sorry to say!! I really wish it was all so simple...!!!
Anyway, I decided to look at composites as well and even though the theory goes that composites come after deducing the synastry, I haven't got THAT much time and the couples I have in my data were together a long time so I don't think the world will end if we discuss this first. Also because I don't have exact TOBs for everyone, which is also why I ended up looking at celebrities that have been together a long time just to compare. I figured that some midpoints wouldn't need exact birth times though such as the Sun/Mars/Venus (perhaps).
I will post the composites in this thread, but I am going to simply say what I have found so far:-
A stellium does seem to exist in couples that get together. That is not to say that the relationship is guaranteed to last, I found in my "split-up" couple data too, so I am thinking this is a marker for a strong attraction. I have seen it appear in strong friendships too, so instead of it being the be-all-end-all, I think it is a strong foundation marker at least. I'll point out now that in some cases, the angles can actually appear to be part of this as you'll see in this thread. I haven't compared my split couple data to lasting couple data beyond that yet, but I definitely will do.
In the few cases where a stellium did not appear, the sun is at least conjunct something such as Venus, Mars or Moon (I see Sun-Venus often). Venus does not have to part of this stellium really, but when it isn't, I have seen Mars in its place like in my parent's chart. Venus is actually "calling", but Mars along with other stuff is conjunct the Sun.
I am currently looking at Pluto and Nodes as well.
Please let me know what you think and do feel free to add your own composites as well to see if this theory stacks up. I know the Love Stellium thing gets poo-hooed a lot now, but I think a stellium, or at least one strong conjunct in the composite allows the relationship to feel focused on something due to that concentration of energy.

Starting with Ava Gardner and Mr Chiari. This was reportedly an abusive relationship which happened whilst she was estranged from Sinatra. I get a bit confused about the details of this relationship, I swear one documentary said they were married: ^ Now, I believe he was somewhat of an idol for her growing up- he was a very famous jazz player at the time. Looking at the composite, I can't help but wonder about that opposition to Neptune in 1st. In this case, could it be an astrological marker or warning about meeting your heroes? Also, the moon square pluto may be a relevant marker too regarding the abuse. The Saturn-IC-MC is made into a T-square by that stellium also... Her first husband, a lot more sweeter the marriage, I got the impression he loved her a lot from interviews, however she resisted at first (I think she was told to play hard to get) and I'm not sure the pull was strong equally on both sides: And of course Frank:

My parents: Please note I don't know my dad's TOB, I just keep assuming he is Libra or Taurus ASC and forgot to put Unknown on the settings: Happy marriage: Next door neighbours: For the most part I think it's a good marriage, but it gets heated. Both are each other's second marriage and have issues from each previous one:

Some split couples here, 3 of Elizabeth Taylor's notable marriages: Michael Wilding: Mercury-Venus opp. Mars. Sun opposes Moon. Mike Todd: Aw, there is a stellium here of Mars-Saturn opp. Jupiter in the 8th. He died before his time. There is a wider stellium of Sun-Merc-NN-Chiron. Mercury, ruler of 8th squares the Moon in 12th and opposes Pluto in 5th forming a cross there. Richard Burton: I'm not sure what to think about this one... you could at a pinch say that there is a stellium here; Sun conj. Mercury opp. Pluto but that conjunction to me seems a bit wide... what do you think though? Those planets together seem to reflect the tumultuous nature of the relationship (Pluto) and how it was splattered across the media at every given opportunity (Mercury), but I am not sure if this is just clutching at straws or not...

Queen and Philip: Cath and Will: Victoria and Albert: As you can see with the Queens here and their partners, the angles appear to complete a little stellium which includes the sun.

Shania Twain and her 2nd husband, seems v. happy: I find the opposition to Chiron quite striking if you know their story. Her first husband cheated on her with her best friend who was married to Fred. Both couples got a divorce and Shania married Fred, her best friends ex-husband. Kind of like a strange spouse swap haha but I've heard her talk about how they grew close amidst shared grief over their marriages etc and the healing process that came with that, so I guess it first the wounded healer archetype in a way. Would be interesting to see it with the angles, but hey ho: To compare with her first with whom she has a son, married for 14yrs: (Apologies again, I keep putting people at 12pm if I don't know their TOB and so it gives angles when it shouldn't. I only have Shania's). Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne:

John and Yoko: Jack White and Karen Elson, 2nd marriage for him, shares 2 kids, married for 6yrs, divorced: (TOB unknown for K.E although I did speculate Aqua ASC in a previous thread) Jack White and Meg White, married for 4yrs, grouped together with to form the White Stripes so this is a long term relationship in a way, but obviously changed "type" over the years...interesting nevertheless: Also, do not know Meg's TOB for sure. Note, am assuming he is a Scorpio ASC natally.

Marilyn Monroe's high profile marriages: Arthur Miller Two stelliums here, including Uranus-Jupiter conj. DSC and opposing Saturn-ASC. Interesting.... Joe DiMaggio: The main difference I see here is the fact that the stellium with Miller transfers into the 12th house. This does not involve Venus- in fact Venus does not conjunct anything. With Joe it conjuncts Jupiter and then there are oppositions to that almost stellium too. They were reportedly very much in love, but there were still problems of course and it didn't last. I do feel that the feelings were different in each marriage and it shows in the composite, although that is just my speculation.

I assume oppositions can count towards the stellium too...I feel like people keep explaining this to me but I forget why they are or aren't like a conjunction when it's a midpoint. I looked back at Megan Fox and her husband's composite and realised they have that opposition to Neptune that's all. Anyway... please let me know what you think! Adding a picture I found online of Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman (I have no space left in my Astro. com storage): Adding Victoria and David Beckham also taken from internet: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (split couple data):

Thank you for this gold mine of composite charts, FruityLlama! I will try and add some celebrity composites later.

I don't know how you made those charts small? Couple from my Astrodatabank: Not sure if people would count that as a love stellium, but as FruityLlama mentioned, oppositions and conjunctions in composite are similar. Pisces sun opposing Neptune, forming a grand cross with the ASC-DSC axis. That MC is tighly conjunct Elvis' 12 Libra Mars. --- Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth: Will add more here...

I don't know how you made those charts small? You can click "Add Attachment" on the top right, instead of inserting an image. That way, people can see the full sized version by clicking on the chart itself. However, guests cannot see charts this way. They'll only see the thumbnail and won't be able to click to see the chart.

Jack White and Meg White, married for 4yrs, grouped together with to form the White Stripes so this is a long term relationship in a way, but obviously changed "type" over the years...interesting nevertheless: Yep. Another astrology-by-the-letter example: They have composite Venus-Uranus and *he* took her name. Thanks for the thread. Will be back later with composites..

Ava Thanks so much for those! Again, we can see a cluster with the sun involved as well- I would probably count that Sun as a conjunction to Mercury to be honest, especially as they are tied to that opposition from Neptune. I have a 7* conjunction of Sun to Venus in my composite with my partner and I can feel the so-called effects of it. It may not be as binding as a closer conjunction though- the tighter the better, but even so, there is a cluster there no doubt. The same with Miley Cyrus- wide conjunction from Sun to Mercury but quite an impressive cluster involving Venus, MC, NN, Neptune and Uranus! I was wondering how to make the charts bigger actually! I wasn't sure if my method of attaching was helpful or not but I suppose you can see the matrix below. Oh well, it's no problem, the charts you posted are easy to look at so thank you again! 12YearsABlob Yes that's very true, I missed that! I was intrigued by the little islands of conjunctions they have, but only 2 planets at a time and they are kind of spread out all over the place. Well, there is one stellium if we are counting oppositions with Sun-Pluto opp. Jupiter. Transforming and expanding(or over-doing it)! I feel that, as well as the Venus-Uranus highlights how the relationship went through different stages as they undertook different projects so to speak. So there is some focus there, but I do find it one of the more strange composites I must admit! EDIT: actually just realised that Venus-Uranus opposes Chiron...

Richard and Sally Burton: I wanted to add Sybil as well but I can't find any data at all for her. I think it's important to include Richard's other wives too. I feel as though they get unfairly unmentioned when it comes to his life. I feel especially sorry for his widow (Sally- above) who has to endure the constant chatter about "Dick&Liz- what a great love affair!" Same for Liz's husbands after Richard. This composite is interesting- a stellium involving Neptune/Mars/Saturn conj. MC, Venus-Chiron opposing Pluto making a T-square with Uranus in 5th and stellium on the ASC with Jupiter-Mercury. The Sun's only conjunction/opposition is to the North Node.

I accidentally clicked on Ava Gardner in my dataset and paired her with Richard Burton- here is their composite: I'm not sure if they had a clandestine affair or not but they starred together in Night of the Iguana in 1964 and he was engaged to Elizabeth Taylor. Assuming they never had anything but a professional relationship, this composite is interesting and really puts a spanner in the works regarding my theory haha!!! Another split couple data, Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne:

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am not seeing many Venus-Square Uranus aspects in these composites? I've seen two in Elizabeth Taylors composites with Mike Todd and Michael Wilding. It's hard to say what would have happened if Mike Todd had lived of course and Michael Wilding is split couple data, but not even the other split couple data have it really? Oh and Ava Gardner with Richard Burton who presumably never got together. Lea Thompson and Howard Deutch (from LL thread):- Not much of a stellium to be found here unless the MC axis counts conjunct Mercury and opposing Jupiter. The sun-Uranus conjunction also opposes Chiron but its not shown on the circular chart. No Venus square Uranus either! Pluto squares the moon and sextiles Venus.

I'm not sure what to think about this one... you could at a pinch say that there is a stellium here; Sun conj. Mercury opp. Pluto but that conjunction to me seems a bit wide... what do you think though? I think it counts. Pluto is on the far midpoint of Sun/Mercury.
