Hi ya'll!

We can use this thread to collect information about nodal axes and to share our experiences.

I'll be posting some descriptions to get started.

The nodal axis is fascinating because it seems simple on the surface. Our goal is supposed to be the North node, right?

But actually figuring how to get there, which parts to keep, what to do away with, is where things get dicey.

How does one integrate the south node?

Do we find a way forward without completely abandoning our south node selves (both good and bad)?

Or is it necessary to let go completely?

Being entrenched in SN behaviours can be toxic, but isn't there some latent strength we can bank on? The kind achieved by our SN-like past lives (assuming they exist).

I believe that many (although not all, of course) people with the South Node in Aries died young in their most recent past life or in a very recent past life. It really helps me to stay focused on Scorpio NN goals because they really kinda do not make sense. Go against comfort and security? WTF? Who wants to?

But I get it, I do......

My EVC (event composite between my natal & today's noon chart in my location) has sun-Venus right natal NN (20 Scorpio) conjunct transiting Jupiter (19 Scorpio) today.

Transiting draconic sun @ 18 Taurus on my south node. 



This has stuck with me, @ 3:32:

"Whereas the NN in Pisces has to trust in the bigger things, NN in Scorpio has to trust their instincts. Scorpio is more personal than Pisces. Pisces is more out there. NN in Pisces has to trust the whole picture. NN in Scorpio has to trust their inner guidance, their inner instincts. They have to follow their desire, they have to follow what they feel like doing, even if it's not making logical sense. So, NN in Scorpio, you're learning to not limit yourself. Taurus can be a limiting energy. It's limiting you to logic and reason and everything that makes sense and everything that is comfortable....but you have to understand that being uncomfortable...you have to learn that to change. Learning to not be addicted to the feeling of safety....putting your heart on the line."

Good point! Well.....you know it's like wanting to go out and be on the beach during a raging storm. All hell is breaking loose around you, and that is pretty much what you wanted, consciously or unconsciously...that's why you are there.

You are sitting on the beach, you are grounded. But you are still flirting with death...something is always pushing you in that direction, towards the edge. Well Uranus is exalted in Scorpio, maybe because with Uranus, absolutely anything goes, including death. 

Scorpio NN has to hone its instincts, and we will sometimes put ourselves in the danger zone just to heighten our awareness, run diagnostics on the state of our reflexes, assess our power, see if we can get away with more.  It always requires a gamble, and sometimes just having blind faith. 

"Look I'm on this beach, a palm tree just came down right next to me, someone else just got knocked down over there, and heaven help the people on that yacht out there......but I'm still here. Interesting." Of course the Grim Reaper comes eventually but most Scorpio NN people I know:

a) Had a narrow brush with death themselves
b) Had to deal with tragedy/death at a young age
c) Put themselves in harm's way deliberately (dangerous hobbies like ice climbing)
d) Live in war-torn areas or are health care workers who see a lot of tragedy

Hmm, those are all good examples. The NN seems to propel us into situations where we're forced to develop those qualities. And as we grow up, it seems we choose (consciously or not) to put ourselves on such a path. With Scorp NN, that's a tough one, because it goes so far against the instinct of the SN (and some human instincts too).

Ah, it's always a bit startling to see articles from my blog being quoted or referenced. Sometimes, it takes me a second to realize it! Haha but thanks for that! (My blog is the source for all of the first excerpts)

As far as the NN goes, I am seriously feeling a constant back and forth between my Nodal axis because of the current transits. Mars in Aquarius is on my Ascendant and about to head into my 1st House and the transiting NN is on my Leo Descendant in the 7th. I have a 1st House Aquarius NN (though it's not on my Rising) and my Sun in Leo in the 7th on the South Node.

It's always a bit tricky navigating this combination because the Aquarius form of individuality is so contradictory. Be very unique but still focus on others and help others. Seek recognition but for being able to uplift others. My NN in the 1st is asking me to be self-aware and have a strong identity but I need to do it in order to change things around me, to open people's minds and make a difference. The best way I look at it is being brave enough to be the change I want to see in the world. Really, I have always been so connected with that. Ever since I can remember, I have always been nonconforming, questioning of the status quo, intent on going against stereotypes and conventional expectations in order to make a point or live up to some ideal. I've never been fazed by what people think in the sense of fitting in or being socially accepted. It's my theory that 1st House NN people express their NN qualities the easiest, especially when the NN is in the same sign as the Ascendant. You already are your NN then. It's truly the simplest, most instinctual house placement for it, as long as you're not letting low-level patterns distract you.

As far as my South Node, romantic commitment has always been hard to maintain. I've found that 1st House NN people are either never single, jumping from one long-term romantic partnership to the next, or always single and constantly getting disappointed when it comes to romances that fizzle out or fall through, which definitely applies to me. There's usually no in between. But, even the serial monogamists are constantly getting disappointed in love because their partner is never truly fulfilling them, on some level. Which category the 1st House NN person falls into, I think, depends on the sign of the North Node.

With mine in Aquarius, I just don't think I'm cut out for conventional relationships which is why I always end up single. It's just my fate. I'm realizing that more and more these days. I am a really great friend, however. In fact, I'm a much better friend than a romantic partner because of the space and freedom that friendships allow. The demands of romantic coupling become suffocating and exhausting, after a while. As an Aquarius Rising, that just makes so much sense. But, I've spent so much of my life chasing after that kind of relationship and thinking it's what I want. I can't put myself in that little box. Life has been constantly forcing singleness on me so I can realize that. I've had much happier and more fulfilling relationships with my close friends. This is actually how the 7th House South Node element of defining yourself through other people has shown itself. My life has definitely been defined and divided up into chapters by who I'm best friends with (again, fitting with Aquarius Rising) and I tend to feed off of how alike we are and how much I can see myself in them and vice versa. So, I need to be able to find a guy who can be a really good friend first and who I can have that kind of bond with, although avoiding gaining too much of my self-awareness from him.

Ava, Aah, I think that toy town for you is Cap NN in a nutshell.

IME, it manifests as being put in positions where you'll have to learn to be responsible. Like on-the-job life training, you're sort of thrown in the midst of it and learn to find your way. Build your own structures, both metaphorically and literally. Since this is the Cap/Cancer axis, those things are all foundations for the family they want to provide for.
