Moon/NN, mainly conjunctions = common among people who formed a family
Mars/NN, hard aspects (0°, 180° or 90°) = common among athletes (Mars is straightforward, it's either military or sports)
Venus/NN = money makers
The planet can modify to a great extent. NN/SN are mathematical points so no "end of this house, interpret it in the next" scenario. SN signifies talents if there's a conjunction. I personally find the house is more telling than the sign, going by the charts I looked at these past few years.

The Scorpio NN is annoying and I choose to ignore it because I want to do other things in life than teeter on the edge of flipping danger. No thanks, I'm sticking to my SN and there's nothing anyone can do about it!!
I also have the sun and moon conjunct my SN so it really isn't going to happen this time round!

I personally find the house is more telling than the sign, going by the charts I looked at these past few years. Yeah, good point. They're points - so actual planets there (by way of conjunction or strong aspect) - can modify it significantly.
As a general rule too, in charts, I've seen that aspects give a stronger "flavour" than signs. Probably because it's adding to the planetary "energy"(?) Not that the signs aren't there, but their behaviour can be significantly modified.
Anyway, about the NN - I have Neptune/Uranus on it. Other conjunctions if we consider draconic to natal overlays.
I haven't fully grasped the house significance of my NN. Since Chiron is in the SN house, it comes with its share of baggage.

My husband has Mars conjunct his NN (4 degrees), and yes to both military and sports when he was younger.

Hey vds, what do you mean by this? People who create families outside of their blood ties?

Moon/NN, mainly conjunctions = common among people who formed a family True for me, though I have the trine -- 4H NN by itself could create that instinct, but with my moon trine the NN...all the moreso.

^ So that's sort of a double lunar influence?

^ So that's sort of a double lunar influence? Yes I guess so. My sun is sextile to my NN, my sun's in mutual reception with Saturn, and Saturn is conjunct draconic moon, too. So I guess it's a theme. "Be maternal." Not sure why I'd get that karmic assignment except with draconic sun on the SN in the 10th house, there's a lot to overcome, to go in the other direction, to maybe balance things out.

Hey vds , what do you mean by this? People who create families outside of their blood ties? Hiya 😁 Yes, in synastry: marriage with children! Natal NN/Moon grants popularity.

As always, I hate most of the things attributed to Gemini, because they don't apply to me at all. I guess I successfully released them. I'm not good at leaving my comfort zone, unless I'm forced to. Moon/Venus are conjunct my South Node, and Pisces Mars squares from the 4th. I have had times when I was excited to try, but I was usually shot down, and never understood why. I've always wanted to travel more, just didn't want to live out of a suitcase. Moved internationally, thanks to my parents. Long-distance connections = you guys, plus other internet friends, and my friends and family from our various moves. Definitely curious, but sometimes that's dulled, or sleeping, because I'm depressed, or there's just too much going on. I never liked seeing journalists camped out in front of people's houses, or asking them stupid questions (like how they feel, after they've lost everything in a fire or hurricane, or after a member of their family has been murdered), but I love real stories like All The President's Men. What it must be like to put all of that work in, and break a story/case, of people acting criminally.

I'm not good at leaving my comfort zone, unless I'm forced to. Moon/Venus are conjunct my South Node, and Pisces Mars squares from the 4th. Aah - you have a Moon/Venus conjunction, that gives a different flavour to the Gemini, especially if it's also squared by Pisces Mars(?) You have two of your feminine planets conjunct the SN - no wonder it's hard to move away from that! That's the reason life always feels like an uphill battle. On the other hand, they are your gifts in this lifetime - not something to have to work to "get right". You are naturally soft and sweet, and nurturing and creative - all things Moon/Venus - without even trying. You have that to bank on, to get you through the obstacles of your NN path. There might be some discomfort there, with the SN making it seem more like a burden to be soft than a strength. I believe it *is* a strength... But how, you ask? I'm not sure I can answer that, though...the answer lies with you...
Mars being your skipped step emphasizes the need to take action, take things into your own hands, etc. Astrology aside, depression can make it all seem useless. I don't know if I should even interpret aspects without that context. But then again, it has to begin somewhere, right? They're very long-standing thought patterns, so the patience required to weed through them is proportional to that...

Thanks for your input, the89freespirit ! Ava , Aah, I think that toy town for you is Cap NN in a nutshell. IME, it manifests as being put in positions where you'll have to learn to be responsible. Like on-the-job life training, you're sort of thrown in the midst of it and learn to find your way. Build your own structures, both metaphorically and literally. Since this is the Cap/Cancer axis, those things are all foundations for the family they want to provide for. So 12YearsABlob , I'm curious about how you would describe the inverse: Cancer NN? Might it involve breaking away from structure and security, to follow one's own bliss, come hell or high water? Tr NN is exactly on my 0° Leo Saturn, and I do feel stabilized after a few weeks of inner mayhem. Maybe it's the calm before a storm as tr NN enters Cancer and almost immediately reckons with my draconic moon there. I don't have a great history with the nodes in this location.

So 12YearsABlob , I'm curious about how you would describe the inverse: Cancer NN? Might it involve breaking away from structure and security, to follow one's own bliss, come hell or high water? Yeah, that sounds like a Cancer theme. Although Cancer like security too, probably just goes about it differently. I'd imagine it would involve letting oneself be vulnerable. Accepting the support of family (or a family-like group), as opposed to the self-sufficient Capricorn way of functioning. Embracing and listening to your feelings. They might, at this time have an important message about the direction you're headed(?) i.e. if it feels good, go right ahead. (Well that's my guess, let us know how it actually turns out...) Tr NN is exactly on my 0° Leo Saturn, and I do feel stabilized after a few weeks of inner mayhem. Maybe it's the calm before a storm as tr NN enters Cancer and almost immediately reckons with my draconic moon there. I don't have a great history with the nodes in this location. Aah, transiting node on the draco moon might act like a spotlight on that position(?) And it'll all be in your tropical 12th house, so all the more mysterious. Having draco moon there might actually help. It could be a lighthouse in the waters of the 12th. But then again, it doesn't sound very comfortable, so I hope it's the good kind of unsettling...

Ah, thank you 12YearsABlob "if it feels good, go right ahead" Currently cannot imagine feeling especially good; I'll have to keep looking for what works for me. "But then again, it doesn't sound very comfortable, so I hope it's the good kind of unsettling..." Thanks very much. Sometimes I forget my draco moon exists. Well it won't be too long before this transit occurs so I will update... Actually just realized that when I attend that concert in the concert hall attached to my grandmother's house, the tr NN will be exactly conjunct my draco moon, conjunct the ASC when the concert begins. Pretty strange the way that works out!! Like coming home, but so completely different. It's my father's mother...natal Saturn conjunct draco moon. Oh and speaking of 12H stuff, one area that is now public used to be an asylum. I dreamed of it before I saw pics of it. Well I told you that weird story before but I remain fascinated and looking forward to being there for the very first time in a few weeks. Can't get over the timing, really.
