When I first read about their case, I was looking for harsh Mars-Pluto aspects. I think her natal itself is very telling, in this case. Has this case resurfaced?
ETA: Omg their composite & progressed composite! Exact Nessus-Atropos-Uranus conjunction. Nessus on Uranus in the composite too.

A lot of action in the progressed composite water houses, perhaps an allegory for the drowning? Venus-Pluto in the 8th ruling the Sun, and that Nessus-Atropos-Uranus in the 4th.
I better look at all these charts in details. These jumped out at me so I wrote them down first.

Yayy for Jupiter in Scorpio & Saturn/Pluto in Cap. I wonder what the transits were for the time they reopened the case.
Wasn't there a third person with them on that boat?
I'll be Bach to look at these chart. Thanks for posting!

It simply drives me crazy when I want to see all the charts at once, and they're not available. So I made them available. That's a good point about the water houses. The progressed composite has.... * 8H Cancer Venus-Pluto-Vertex on the transiting NN and her natal sun stellium, conjunct transiting Nessus... * Square 4H Aries Nessus-Atropos on Wagner's progressed Venus * Square transiting Libra Pluto in their pr comp 12H * Opp transiting Cap Venus on the tr SN

Thanks! P.S. Yeah, Christopher Walken was the third person on the boat (other than the captain). P.P.S. Oh goody, you have the date too.

Sorry to overwhelm, but this is their progressed composite with transits, when the case was reopened. Very interesting, I think: * Pr comp sun conjunct Pluto, t-squaring pr comp Nessus and transiting Saturn. * Transiting Pluto conjunct pr comp Pholus-Juno in a grand earth trine with tr Virgo Mars, tr Taurus Atropos. And Wagner was not deemed a suspect or person of interest that time around. * Their regular composite has 9 Taurus sun 8 Scorpio Mercury 9 Aqua/Leo IC-MC axis Transiting Juno @ 8 Scorpio when the case reopened, their marriage in the spotlight again.

Sorry to overwhelm, but this is their progressed composite with transits, when the case was reopened. Oh yes, this is exactly what I wanted to see.

It’s Wagner’s Saturn return
When it was opened Saturn was in libra ... very fascinating
Pluto is opposing her cancer stellium and Jupiter in Scorpio def favors her.
Gosh.

I remember mum telling me about this, and also how beautiful Natalie Wood was. I think she thought Robert Wagner had something to do with it, but I can't remember. I saw this morning, that they said it looked like she had fresh bruises.

I saw this morning, that they said it looked like she had fresh bruises. Yes... Also, the story is just weird. Her sister says she was deathly afraid of the water, couldn't swim, and never would have set out alone in a dinghy at night. Even if she had been courageous enough to get on the dinghy and try to row to shore, her husband should have been concerned enough to search for her. www.cnn.com/2011/11/17/justice/california-natalie-wood/index.html

Forgive me if I've gotten some of this off. I'm viewing on my phone, and it doesn't let me zoom in. But let me see if I can indulge in a little bit of mind's eye theater here...
So, Mars-Sun-Pluto opposite Mars-Lilith? And Chiron conjunct Moon-Vertex? That's an awful lot of juice for Mars opposite Mars. And moon Lilith already doesn't have a buffer, but sitting on his vertex, it had to make him feel everything intended or otherwise. And if the things were ego-drive to the power of Pluto hitting his Mars... Yikes. Probably not what his aqua sun signed up for, but how could he resist?
Saturn trine her Venus (on his MC), and Neptune trine her Moon. He probably liked (loved) her softer side, and his image of her, his image of himself as the husband-father-*man* of the relationship. And she probably liked it too... Cancer females can have that domesticated (even submissive) side to their personality.
But (says he) why does she have to get so... willful? Her Saturn conjunct his Nessie. (Square his Pluto as well?) When she had had enough, that Saturn just had to poke him *there* and with her Chiron on his moon-vertex, he had no way to shut it out. So, Nessie had do do it for him.
I'm not saying anything about did he or didn't he. I'm just trying to approach the synastry chart as is. It looks to me like is was good as long as she went along with him and awful once she didn't kind of things. And with Sun Pluto Mars conjunct, she didn't go along with him or anyone else for one second longer than it suited her.

Excellent analysis, thank you geminiblues! "Probably not what his aqua sun signed up for, but how could he resist?" Wow...yes. And if he felt a little powerless to resist her, maybe he took drastic measures to sever that link, if only to try and reclaim his autonomy or sanity? Their synastry looks crazy-making. Individually their charts are difficult, and the Scorpio nodes just raise the stakes a little higher, dealing with Plutonian baggage from past lifetimes maybe.
