My husband does not shut up about it. I've listened to some of it on YouTube, but as usual have difficulty with it because it's tedious, and I'm sort of inherently skeptical of people who claim to channel. BUT, I don't discount it by any stretch. It's just very lengthy.

I read bits of the first chapter and the 'alien' spirit, despite it's awesome abilities, is remarkably ignorant of what counts as clear communication for humans. Talk about obfuscation! And using cumbersome phrases continuously which makes you want a throw a book at them. For example there are constant references to: "physical-chemical complexes" "distortions' or "distortion complexes", e.g, 'this vibrates in concordance with our particular distortions" Here's a winner - "The healing, if it is to be effectuated, must be a funneling without significant distortion of the in-streamings through the spiritual complex into the tree of mind" - Good grief! Were they not wanting to be understood? Or were they hoping to measure the success of their book by the number of study groups that would be set up. It was indeed a business opportunity for people offering lectures/interpretations, thus expanding the project.

and I'm sort of inherently skeptical of people who claim to channel. Same Here. But i am Worse. There IS No such Thing AS channelling an Alien. Only people with a Lot of Fantasy or the urge to feel Special and important. Well everyone May feel different about IT, But that is what i really think.

I know one person, a born medium, who is a channel, and who I trust. Perhaps a channel is the wrong word here as she relates what she is being told by someone only she can see. This is distinct from speaking in a trance state, words which are not yours.
There is some stuff in the Law of One which concurs with other "channelled' or seer books - namely. that higher alien intelligences communicate telepathically. The info on the pyramids is interesting but not beyond the imagination of an earthling.

There is some stuff in the Law of One which concurs with other "channelled' or seer books - namely. that higher alien intelligences communicate telepathically. Wasn`t Steven Spielberg putting that in one of his earlier films already? Chances are that any author who "channels" anything or anyone, has come across the topic of channeling before, and might simply be reiterating what they have read or heard or just heard of before. Sometimes downright copying it and at other times giving a modified version. Well by "giving a version" I did not mean to imply that they do it intentionally to mislead; some may actually do that, but I guess most of them believe they really are channeling something or someone. I do believe that we can "pick up" on energies, thoughts, fragments of ideas etc, but that is very different from the concept of channelling, which I think of in the best case as a form of entertainment, but which in the worst case scenario can have severe psychological (detrimental) consequences. And just think of it, IF it is possible, just imagine that, would you open your door to your house to a complete stranger, who tells you he has important information to share, and he can do it only from your house but ONLY if you are not there or worse, you are there, but without possibility to act on your own during that time`? At this point I think it is not even important if it is real or if someone believes it is real, cause our beliefs to a great degree consitute our reality (or shape our perception of what we think is real) - well I just think it is something very dangerous to play around with, oh and of course in some cases encouraging an already existing Godd(ess) complex.

lumina, as you describe it, it would be very suspect. But, there seem to be wide variances in types of channelling. Neale Donald Walsch, for example, channelled through automatic writing. One could argue that he was plumbing the depths of his mind or dipping into a vast subconscious which knows all things. The results were pretty startling, irreverent and funny. His Conversations with God, Book 1, is one of the most enjoyable books I've read. I would be very happy to allow for that version of 'channelling'.

@astrokeen
As I said what I do sincerely believe in is the connection between people that exceeds the verbal and even nonverbal communication. And the human mind having a lot of potential skills we cannot explain yet, even intuition, is not always compeltely explainable. Some people look for the explanation to external sources, call it channelling, and some see the explanation from an internal source, like I do.
But all that esoteric babble in those "holy channelled books" *rolleyes* - nope, certainly not a believer here.
Of course everyone can believe what they want, or actually I don`t think there is a choice in that, so people believe what they believe. But when it comes to channeling, I am just out of there. Be it due to disbelief, or be it due to the first hand experience how much harm such a thing or even just the belief can cause.

Interesting conversation.
I don't have an opinion. I'll just play the wishy-washy Pisces moon card. Maybe people can channel? Maybe not?
It's akin to the question of, "Do you believe people can become possessed?"
It also links in with past lives:
Can one life form inhabit another and direct itself through another? So, I thought maybe I had a past life experience, where I became someone else. Was I channeling them, in order to occupy their state of being, or were they possibly channeling me?
My dad's Cap ex recommended the Esther/Abraham Hicks books, decades ago. I was talking about it with @sopranosoul. Some of the material is convincing...well it seems to come with its own fully developed and strange frame of reference which makes a person wonder, "Where did THIS come from?" It's so far out of the range of our usual thought patterns and mental conventions. That alone adds credibility to the argument, "It's not from this time and this planet." But on the other hand, I am rather sensitive to voice quality and cannot listen to the sharp, rebuking, domineering tone in this author's voice, as she channels...not for more than a minute anyway.
It's hard to fathom how something that begins as an interception of a higher frequency immediately drops down to a low-frequency grumbling, scolding type of voice. So I leave all of that alone.
In a general sense, I believe in inspiration. If we open our minds and listen very closely, God or the Oversoul or whatever it is...this energy will download itself into us. I don't know if that could fall under the umbrella of "alien"....or perhaps the information is indeed streaming through a mediator like an angel (the Being that is credited as a source)...but perhaps only some people are aware of WHO or WHAT that is, and can name it.
Hmm, yeah I guess I like to think channeling can be real, I'm not atheist about that one. This concept nestles into my box of theories rather nicely, I think. Until or unless someone dissuades me.

Yeah, I agree with you about her domineering tone. It also annoys me that she always butts in. It's very rare that a person can finish their whole sentence/question. Maybe if she listened to everything they had to say, she'd get a better idea as to where they're coming from and tailor her answers in a way that's more applicable to their situation? People make ask the same type of question, but may be coming from different places. It's about context. Other than that, I must admit I've listened to scores of her recordings (1.5 to 2x speed) and have come away with a lot, which I'm grateful for. I'm just not sure I could be one of those people who goes on stage to ask her anything. Sometimes she can be rather insulting too, even though it comes from a good-hearted place. The point is to raise the vibe of a person, not batter them. In a general sense, I believe in inspiration. If we open our minds and listen very closely, God or the Oversoul or whatever it is...this energy will download itself into us. I'm the same. I am willing to believe that channelling is possible, it's just that the number of people who actually can genuinely channel is much less than the number of people who claim to be able to channel, much like with any other skill, where a lot more people claim to be good at something than actually are.

@sopranosoul Great points, I agree with everything you said there. I do need to look into the topic of this thread, I haven't done so yet.

I don't entirely discount the idea that people can channel, I'm just skeptical of anyone claiming to do so. I definitely believe people can communicate directly with beings like Guides, probably angels, and I believe that people can become possessed. So why not aliens as well...
