Thanks both! Ava , well its just a musing as I noticed it in someone's synastry but I don't think they know each other well enough yet. It got me thinking about generally though because there is a lot out there on Valentine-NN but not on SN. Sorry I can't give any more details. I will keep a look out for it in established relationships. lumina oh that's interesting- how come? I must admit, I had friends whose Valentine were on important angles (like my DC) and it wasn't true love. There was an immense liking though before other stuff got in the way. One friend had their Valentine on my NN too. And one told me there was attraction on their part (the one whose Val conj. my DC). But in married couples I often see Valentine aspecting the luminaries....

But in married couples I always see Valentine aspecting the luminaries.... That is interesting, cause I never see that. Actually point 1 is that wherever I turn into the net, including Jewel`s video, I always find the wording of IQ, it`s like his invention/ thinking of what Valentine is about has been spread and it is the one everyone buys. He has a right to his thinking of course, I did not find it to be true though, even though at first I was using it like that as well, it just never matched reality, or not to a percentage I was satisfied with. As for me, myself, I have not found Valentine to be prominent in couples (as a rule or in a general way) who have a lasting committed relationship, there might have been a sextile or trine here and there, but usually the orbs were too big and well this is not what I call "prominent". Many couples I experienced as deeply loving and committed, acutally did NOT have any Valentine-aspects. (though I found some Valentine-Sun-Conjunctions in celebrity couples). Some had, but the majority did not. I have found Valentine-aspects in crushes though, and also in relationships that were sweet and loving for a time, but somehow did not stand the test of time. From my perspective Valentine is a sweet lovely thing to have in a synastry, but it is like icing on a cake, sugar, or a valentine dinner ; it is sort of for the festive days, also romanticizing things, a nice generously romantic vibe, but nope, I have not noticed any commitment or real depth factor about it, except for some deep infatuation/ romantic vibration. But that sacrifical, dedicated commitment aspect, I have actually never seen unless there were some other stronger indications in the charts simultaneously. Nevertheless I like seeing this one, it`s sweet, adoring and idolizing.

I edited just after you posted ahaha it often comes up but not always. My grandparents don't have it, but then I don't have birth times for either of them so it could be that Valentine aspects the ASC too. Plus, I don't have a big set of data. I noticed it with myself and bf (I think we have squares from his Valentine to my luminaries), my parents (Valentine conjunct Moon exact and Valentine opp. Sun exact), Liz T and Burton (Valentine opp.Moon exact). However, me and my cat don't have it and he is definitely one of my true loves along with my dog of course (but I don't have an accurate d.o.b for my doggy haha)!! I notice Juno aspects alongside this as well, but I suppose thats going off topic. Although actually, what do you notice more in synastries if you dont mind me asking lumina?

well some have it, some don`t. BTW Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward have it, too. What I notice in synastries? Well, honestly speaking, the basic stuff. lol luminaries to each other, not always but often , planets on angles, Jupiter and/or Saturn to the planets, and a lot of stuff to the chartruler and the dispositors of the personal planets. the nodal axis tightly (3 degrees max.) conjunct or square personal planets or angles. Mostly however I notice a natal resonance, that translates into synastry and / or composite.

Ava , sorry to say, but just judging from Valentine conjunct your Moon, he probably doesn`t. There are other things that make him miss you a LOT though, I am sure. But Valentine-Moon, nope. It probably gave him an enchanted, fairy-tale kind of flavour-feeling in terms of you, making him very charmed with you.

Ava I can of course be wrong, but I just don`t feel it is "major league", no matter for whom. BUT I also feel it is something very sweet to have, it softens the heart, brings you into that state where you are open to receiving and especially expressing romantic feelings, and therefore it is very sweet to have in a marriage chart. Funny enough in P`s and my composite Valentine shows up, too, and I think that is just,,,, I am boringly repeating myself.... sweet. I think you have a term in english "Sweetheart", that is how Valentine feels to me. I wouldn`t diminish its effect, not downplay it, I just don`t think it has the commitment factor inbuilt per se, or the deep emotional bonding. Now actually I think Valentine to the Moon is one of those aspects that might come very close to the emotional bonding, but that is because of the Moon-factor, and I guess Valentine-Saturn is great for making the sweetheart-factor more serious, substantial and lasting, too. But Valentine on its own´? Nope, might be, but I just don´t see it like that. But on the other hand that sweet vibe of romance is something pretty precious on its own, even without the unconditional sacrificial overtone.

This particular synastry has Valentine conjunct Sun and Moon too actually. There is a fondness there I think. Ooh Ava your Valentine is a couple of orbs away from my DSC! Aww..!!!
