Sun conjunct, square, or opposing the moon.
New moon, quarter moon, full moon.
How do you consider these aspects?
In the simplest terms, in my experience....
* Sun conjunct moon -> feels subtly supportive, we're on the same wavelength, unspoken understanding. Quiet (moon's in a dark phase.)
* Sun square moon -> some needs met beyond expectation, happy surprises. And some needs unmet for curious reasons: "Why didn't they just _______ ? It would have been simple."
* Sun opposing moon -> where the sun feels itself expanding to fullness, and this may translate to a kind of emotional fulfillment for the moon person. Or it can be "too much" entirely, if there are issues preventing that fullness from manifesting in a healthy way. Then you just have an exaggerated emotional resonance.

sounds very plausible to me.
INterestingly enough my parents have the opposition. While my brother and sister in law don`t have that synastrically I find it interesting that he has the Quarter Moon in his natal chart, she has the fullmoon, and her fullmoon falls onto his horizon. Ofc ourse this is not synastry, though (lunation-wise I mean).

I think these aspects make for very supportive emotional connections. Lots of married couples have the quarter and full moon contacts. I’ve also noticed anecdotally that new moon babies tend to marry the opposite sun signs and full moon babies tend to get married to their own sun sign. (Ashton Kushner for example)
We tend to remember ppl who gets our heart and the moon is our hidden self, things that we are but don’t like to admit that we are but are proud of when ppl acknowledge that part of us.
The square still means that person gets us, but do not respond in a way that completely jive with us.

I also disagree with astrologers who say moon signs compatibility is the most important. Sun-moon actually is.

It's a little different for me I think, because of the Grand Cross with my Nodes and luminaries. If someone's Moon is conjunct my Sun, it's opposite my Moon and square my Nodes, and so on with any conjunction, opposition, square, etc.
As my Sun is in Pisces, Moon in Virgo, NN in Sag, and SN in Gemini... I tend to enjoy the rapport with Virgo and Sag Suns the most, Pisces Moons are good, and I seem to have a lot of Gemini Moon folks in my life, which can be nice but also exasperating at times.

I also disagree with astrologers who say moon signs compatibility is the most important. Sun-moon actually is. That kind of makes sense....... Though with my sun and moon being sextile, it's a bit similar to what Violets was saying...any planet aspecting my sun also aspects my moon. So it's harder to tell what's going on.

It`s actually both, depending on the natal chart. As I said in another thread, I have not seen any lasting relationship so far with incompatible Moon-sign-background (not necessarily in aspect - it is very generalistic, but its just what I observed). In one case where the Moon-signs were incompatible (Sagittarius vs Virgo), the Virgo Moon actually has a fullmoon in her natal chart overlaying the ASC-DESC-axis of the other person.
But like always it depends on the natals. I don´t think I could ever be ha ppy with someone with an incompatible Moon-sign, mostly cause my Sun and Moon AND ASC are in fire and air. There might be attraction to especially earth (mostly cause I have an earthy Venus) and understanding with water (Pisces, actually, don´t think i would fare well with Cancer or Scorpio; Neptune in ASC and chartruler in Pisces squaring Neptune, gives me enough of a Neptunian vibe), but my fire-air would dry out or be drowned.

Many planets in my chart are close in degree (between 5 and 12), so if someone's Sun or Moon squares mine, there's a strong likelihood that it will also be in conjunction with, or trine or sextile to my Mercury, Venus, Neptune, or Pluto (all in fire or air signs).

Just don't bother my Cardinal squares and oppositions, and we'll be fine. Those guys are touchy. Or at least make a nice aspect to my Venus if you do.

Straightforwardly, my moon doesn't aspect my husband's: 5° Libra // 18° Pisces It doesn´t have to. Though yours is another case of incompatible Moon signs (though well, Libra and Pisces are on each others antiscion, but anyway), however his Moon trines your DESC, right? How about your Moon? Any aspects to his Sun or ASC? Of course you have a point about the similiar temperament with water houses Moons, and the sextile as natal aspect. How does that translate to your composite? Is there a sextile, opposition or conjunction there?

Anecdotally, Pink and Carey Hart have Aries and Scorpio moon Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward have Pisces and Aqua moon Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biels have sag and Gem moon Ashton and Mila Kunis have Aquarius and Scorpio moon
In my experiences moon-moon make this friendly feeling which is the cause for friend zone. In the case where moon-moon aspect nicely, sun aspect to sun and sun-moon aspects need to happen because the moon’s light is a reflection of the sun.
Alyssa Sharpe is a Taurus moon, she married a Scorpio sun, cancer moon. So they have full moon and quarter moon synastry.

Attraction without friendly feelings does not spell compatibility however, maybe that is why the primary triad needs to reflect some compatibility in this matter. As I said, the Moon-Moon-compatibility by sign happens often, but if not, then you`ll find this compatibility from Moon to Sun or ASC, and what I did not mention in a similiarity of natal aspects.
Pink and Carey Hart both have a Sun-Saturn.conjunction, and her Virgo-Sun being copatible to his Scorpio-Moon. Unfortunately his birthtime is not known.
Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward had a Sun-Moon-exchange.
Sag and Gemini Moons are in compatible (elments) signs, though the opposition aspect is interesting.
AShton has the New Moon in Aquarius which is a great source of attraction or being attracted to Mila`s Leo Sun.
I personally prefer to see both, Moon-Moon compatibility as well as Sun-Moon-compatibility, the ASC`s and Suns are a bonus then, but only ASC and Sun to Sun compatibility is usually not enough for an emotional bond and attraction to develop, even though these people meet eye to eye and there is a great personality-connection.
Well I will always have a weakness for Sun-Moon, just because it is so Yin-Yang.

I've just found that another guy who seemed to crush hard on me for a while (I have no idea why), has Mars conjunct Mercury in Sadge, conjunct my NN, which opposed my Moon/Venus/SN, and squares my Mars. His Mars is opposite my BIL's Mars in Gemini. This guy also has Sun, Venus, MC, and Uranus in Scorpio, all in my first house.
I remember trying to excuse my BIL's focusing so much on me at times, with the fact that he screwed up, and wanted to make things right, or just that he really wanted to get along with his girlfriend's sister. I got to a point where I couldn't think that way anymore, with the things that he said or did. I don't think it really had anything to do with me, either, despite the synastry. Maybe this is just my Gemini Moon switching to logical brain, but I felt no attraction for him, and his attention didn't leave me feeling attractive. It was the total opposite (as were his excuses - I took him the wrong way, I was delusional, and then several years later, my sister calling me old and fat... and people saying I MUST be jealous, but not giving me a reason as to why I should be).

I've just looked up an actor that I feel a bit of a connection to, not a crush, but my "type" that I could crush on, possibly, if we knew each other. He's yet another Taurus, with Venus in Gemini this time, conjunct mine and my Moon, and his Jupiter/Saturn is trine my Venus. His ascendant is trine mine (but conjunct the sun of his girlfriend *sigh*). His Mercury is conjunct my Vertex. Why can't I actually meet someone like this?

For what it's worth, I just realized (or re-realized) that my Sun is sextile my husband's Moon. We have Venus trine Venus/Sun/Vertex/NN, and Moon trine Moon/Vertex/MC (our Venuses forming a Grand Trine, etc), but I hadn't given much thought to Sun/Moon.

First, I'll repeat...
Aspects>>>Placements>Signs
I think Sun-Moon, Mars-Moon and Saturn-Moon are all bigger than Moon-Moon.
From personal experience, I had Sun conjunct and moon opposite my moon. She had the opposition natally. The sun was great, the moon opposition (hers in aqua) made it too unstable. Further, the moon completed a grand square for me as my moon is the apex of a T with Neptune and Jupiter. There was also Venus square Mars for attraction, and Saturn completing a Pluto Jupiter grand earth trine for me so Saturn contacts for stability... Oh, there was that Mars square my Saturn though... I remember now... Lol!
Anyway... Sun conjunct but moon opposite my moon made my moon feel like it didn't get it's turn to be leo moon. When it let her be sun, great, but when it was my turn, her aqua moon shut that down.

^^^ I completely agree. I really don’t like libra moons in person.
I admire celebs with this moon but they tend to think I disrupt their harmony. I have nodes and a stellium in Capricorn and I’m usually fine with Libra sun but libra moon definitely think I’m rude 😂

Interesting to see how different similiar aspects can manifest. My parents have a similiar make up, well not completely the same but similiar. My Dad has a natal Sun-Moon-square and my Mom`s Sun opposes his Moon and squares his Sun. A very dynamic duo, but even after 40 years of marriage yoyu can sense the sparks between them, but in a good way. Maybe it is easier because his Moon does not get two challenging aspects, and Sun can obviously deal with a bit of a challenge easier than most Moons.
