anelaWow, a bull in your backyard?! Scary but cool Reminds me of Ferdinand. Forgot to say, our property is surrounded by a tall chainlink fence, we keep the gate over the driveway locked, so a person would have to climb over it and very deliberately trespass. Since my kids started seeing this guy, I've stopped seeing him. When I first started seeing him, I thought I was imagining it. Only after my son mentioned it did I realize it was real or "real" -- I don't know. So if I see him again, NOW I'm seeing with an educated view. So it'll be scarier.

Don’t think I’ve really had creepy experiences with spirits, but I have seen and heard a number of them. It ranges from being able to see the spirit guide of someone I know enter her home 5 minutes before the person arrived, to strange looking orbs all around me. I’ve had my fair share of doors opening or locks unlocking, but it’s never been bad energy. I’ve dreamt about my great grandmother (who passed a very long time ago) who wanted me to pass a message to my mom- turns out mom was her favorite.

My bf saw a ghost when he was in his native country and it scared him a lot. He saw the mother and father of his landlord on his balcony...!
The other story comes from my mum who is a nurse. She was taking care of a lady who was dying and this lady suddenly pointed out and said "theyre all there, waiting for me. I can see them". It creeped my mum out at the time but it always brings tears to my eyes to think of it. The lady died peacefully I believe.

This morning my daughter and I were in the kitchen and my daughter startled with an "AHHH!" and then practically whimpered, "There he goes again." Nobody ever sees him when we look out the windows, though. Omg, that man! This story scared the bejeesus outta me that night. This, the country house one and the parking lot man - are my top three favourites.

@12yearsablob
yeah he spoke to his landlord about it because he looked obviously shaken by something the next day. He described them and the landlord showed him a picture of his parents and my bf nearly collapsed. My bf also said they stood in this brilliant light-blue/cyan light which is a bit different- I've never heard people who have experienced the afterlife describe this colour but anyway. It happened in the Mediterranean, maybe its a colour the spirits associated with their life or something and choose to appear like that I don't know.

FruityLlama, Exactly, I was trying to imagine his shock - seeing people he didn't even know. This, the country house one and the parking lot man - are my top three favourites. Thanks I haven't told the story about the parking lot man here, I said it enough at LL and assume many of you heard it before. But just in case........ One day in 2014, I went grocery shopping. The moon was transiting in Pisces and I felt too psychically open. I had been looking at charts of serial killers that morning and felt like one of these guys got too far into my head. So as I crossed the parking lot I actually said to myself, "This isn't good, I'm too open." That's the only time in my life that I can recall thinking that. I noticed a helicopter hovering over the parking lot and wondered if someone had died there recently. Typically those are news helicopters that hover as they film the scene of an accident. I made a mental note to check the news online later. My husband was doing repairs on our country house, so I was sleeping alone that night. I woke up around 3 am to the sound of heavy breathing and went to put my arm around my husband, but he wasn't there. At first I was just groggy and assumed he was further away on the bed, but then it dawned on me.....heavy breathing here, but no husband. I was petrified. To make a long story short I was screaming in my head for this entity to leave, and I heard it go out into the hall. Then there was a clear whistle...the sound of a person whistling. I was terrified and didn't fall asleep until dawn. Then I dreamed there was a man in my bathroom, my sons had found him there and came to report that "The Breather" was in there. I went in and I actually had a public stall in there, and he was fully dressed, seated on the toilet, sweating and looking terribly ill. So I called the police (he was an intruder) and told them to bring an ambulance. Later that morning, after I had finished telling some people in a panic about the breathing I had heard in my room, I decided to check the news and see if there had been an accident in that parking lot. Yes, a man had been killed when a truck rammed him into a building, in a freak accident. The man was a local politician and the article showed his picture. Well it was "The Breather." I had NOT expected that, it never crossed my mind to link the accident with my ghost experience, until I saw him. I told this story to my Scorpio friend in a coffeeshop one day, and she was tinkering with her phone, and without warning me she turned the phone around to show me a picture of the guy: "Him?" I almost started crying. Please don't quote

One that I posted before, was when we were at my uncle's place in England. on the coast for the weekend. We slept in the large bed he had shared with his ex-wife, before she ran off with someone else. He slept in a small bed in the spare room. This was a cottage in Eastbourne.
Mum slept in the middle, and my sister and I were on either side of her. I hate sleeping without a light on, so I wasn't feeling great anyway, but something felt really bad this one night. So much, that I asked mum if I could get in the middle. She switched places with me. The next morning, my sister told mum that a woman had been staring at her the night before, in that bedroom. It turned out to be our former aunt, who had died at some point, of cancer, and I don't think we knew that. We barely knew her.
In England, also, just before we moved over here, I was watching the Terminator, on a small TV borrowed from the boy next-door (Andrew), was relaxed, settled down under my quilt, to go to sleep... and someone kicked my bed. Only there was nobody there. I froze for a few seconds, then grabbed my quilt, and shot into my sister's room. That house... we had some weird things happen.
In this house, we had weird things happening for a while. In 2008, we were all talking, when the light suddenly went down in the dining room, then right up again. It's got one of those dial switches, that you turn. We all looked at each other, acknowledged it, then carried on talking. I had something happen one night, then asked it politely to visit someone else, if someone was actually there. Mum woke up and saw my deceased Uncle Keith at the end of her bed, in a white suit she never knew he had, but apparently it was his favourite.

Definitely not talking too much. I love true ghost stories. I love fictional ones, too, but the real ones are more interesting to me. I've been listening on and off, to Two Girls One Ghost, a podcast, since I was really sick in May, and couldn't take watching TV a lot of the time. I couldn't sleep one night, so I looked up spooky podcasts. It isn't that spooky, and they seem to believe in everything, whereas I don't, but I'd love to find one that gives me chills, or makes me think. They're so chatty, nothing seems really spooky to me.

Ava, it is a big hall after all - maybe it's not just your great grandfather there? Wonder if it's people who've lived there or family or something else...

Omg I forgot about the women!!! Yes, they seem like the more likely candidates. I wonder if it's possible to actually spend a night in those quarters (as opposed to the house) and see if anything shows itself(?) But that might be inviting trouble, so I dunno. It's so interesting though. I buy into the theory that if they show up, they want to communicate with us, and part of me is always waiting for that to happen.

I came across this article yesterday:
The article says that they attributed it to "unconscious ventriloquism", which I'm not sure I agree with. Is that a thing?
If there was trickery involved, it was fully conscious. I just don't get how...

If it's unconscious and disembodied, how did they ever pin it to that woman in the first place? People said she wasn't even there when it happened sometimes. I suspect she just became the scapegoat because she had the least amount of status.

Ava , it is a big hall after all - maybe it's not just your great grandfather there? Wonder if it's people who've lived there or family or something else... Those freak me out too much, unfortunately. I read the true spooky stories at jezebel this year, and at least half were real-life intruders, rapists, etc. It totally spoiled it for me. I want to hear about spooky, more than anything. I love the stories of deceased relatives, things like that, or just things that send a chill up your spine. Reading about a teenage girl getting beaten and raped, just left me feeling ill and so depressed for her, and for the other girls and women out there that it happens to, you know? I do have a true crime book that I bought in May, though. I wanted to read it out in the sunshine, during the Spring or Summer - that "I'll Be Gone In The Dark". It was too hot to be out there when I was awake, so that didn't happen.

Yeah, I hear ya. It's got a very different vibe. Hope you have plenty of spooky movies to watch, then! Do you have Netflix or Amazon Prime?
