I'm thinking about ordering the raspberry flavoured liquid from NOW Foods, on Amazon. I remember mum listening to the tape that's associated with them, when I was nineteen, and it's one of those things I wonder about, wonder how we forgot about them. I'm thinking about trying them myself, and getting dad to try them, too. Also trying to streamline supplements, rather than add to the list.
Has anyone here tried them? I think we did when I was nineteen, but I don't recall how long we used them.

I'm not familiar with them. Are they associated with gelatin? I know Sally Fallon who wrote Nourishing Traditions is a great advocate of bone broth and gelatin, for the hydophilic colloids...in this case, they attract and hold water and faciliate digestion. But I don't know about the mineral content. I was eating Jell-O the other day. Red dye and sugar but I had it in mind that maybe it will prevent wrinkles.

Not gelatin, here you go: www.herbalhealer.com/colloidalminerals.html People have said that their hair and nails thickened up, and some said their hair went back to its natural colour.

Ava When my hair started to get more greys in it, about seven years ago (and I freaked, because I thought it was too soon), my aunt said something about copper. I was taking something else, blended into a milkshake, but it had an odd taste, and the milk always disagreed with my stomach. I can't believe she didn't mention this to me, since she's into anything herbal or self-healing.

Spirulina is good for forming collagen, too: www.foodrenegade.com/sources-of-collagen/?mc_cid=9be43297a5&mc_eid=3c92aed681 and it's apparently loaded with iron. I like to blend it into smoothies that contain pineapple, or strawberries, as well as apple juice. One recipe is Jason Vale's, the other is from Earth Fare (green goddess smoothie: strawnerries, apple juice, kale, banana, and spirulina).

Thanks, anela! I'm keeping that site in mind; maybe I'll buy some of those. I wonder if diatomaceous earth is similar. I think that's what Jordan Rubin used to heal himself of Crohn's Disease, but I'm forgetting. My German friend mailed me some "earth"....it's a popular remedy over there from what I understand. Stirring dirt into your drinks I assume it has some of the same health benefits. But I really haven't been able to stomach it. It clumps and looks like actual dirt in a glass of water. Thanks so much for the info on spirulina. I drink Multi-Green kombucha with that, and I think I will buy my own powder. I'm starting to get hyper-protective of my collagen. I bought BioSil, but it's so expensive, I don't even want to be hooked on it. So I'm only giving my test run with it a half-hearted effort. I eat dark chocolate all the time, it's rich in copper, maybe that's why I'm not graying yet. I put out about one gray hair per month. (I have never known how to spell gray...grey or gray....just like I've never known if blond has an "e" at the end or not.)

I've taken them for three days, and haven't noticed a difference in my mood, but it might have given me more energy: I couldn't get to sleep last night. Apparently, spirulina also has copper, so that might explain it, too. (Your hair.) I take great lakes collagen, because it's cheaper, but have two samples of another one. Vital Proteins? My sister likes that one.

I think these may have helped to balance certain things out for me. I'm not sure, since I also increased my collagen a bit, since I've been taking a really small dose for over a year now, and also have been taking cal/mag/d when I remember, as well as getting grass-fed milk for making ovaltine, to which I add the collagen, and a tablespoon of molasses (for certain period problems I've had for years). I was also eating more turmeric, by eating that one soup, or the lentil soup I linked to. I might be dealing with PMS now, but at least it didn't come early this time. The last one, I had almost no pain, so I'm hoping for that again, instead of the agony I'm usually in for a few days.
