I'm trying to read through some of my books. One that I bought three years ago, when I was waiting for my dad in Buffalo, NY, is Margaret Atwood's The Heart Goes Last. I can't afford to buy her new book (The Testaments), so this will do for now. I can't believe I still haven't read it. I started last night.
I have a few on the go, and one I bought the day before my birthday. I can't remember the exact title, but it was about the possibility of life after death. I'll post the title when I'm awake, and find it.

^Hey, I know where you can get books for less. Watch your email for a link and a discount code. It's an online store that sells used books (but they're in good condition, and you can choose which "condition" you'd like to buy).
:ETA: Texted you a link.

Hello! Another good book i was reading last days is "My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry", by Swedish author Fredrik Backman. It is really moving, life through the eyes of a special child, little Elsa.

I'm reading Braving the Wilderness - a book I bought a few years ago, and only read a little bit of. That's one of them. I might mention the others, when I'm more awake.

Ava This is the book I mentioned to you privately: www.amazon.com/Surviving-Death-Journalist-Investigates-Afterlife/dp/0553419617I read a little bit of it, when my sister was here, three years ago. I found it again at Half Price Books, last year, the day before my birthday, so I decided to buy it. I gave up on the library book I was trying to finish. I think my stress has been 50% life and 50% pressure from things like that, needing to get them finished, but not being able to focus.

I enjoyed this video about reading more:
No way can I read a book a week, I'm too slow. But I thought, why not start 2021 with some kind of serious booklist, and try and get through that?
These are the books I want to read:
1. The Age of Surveillance Capitalism by Shoshanna Zuboff 2. The Road to Serfdom, Hayek 3. The Republic, Plato 4. Re-read Getting Things Done by David Allen 5. The Hobbit, Tolkien 6. The Creature from Jekyll Island, G. Edward Griffin 7. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 8. The Count of Monte Cristo, Dumas 9. The Spell of the Sensuous, David Abram 10. Becoming Supernatural, Joe Dispenza
Bonus: The Divergent Trilogy, which I own already, but stalled on.
I've read parts of most of these but lost interest. Maybe I can get through a few this time.

At some point, I'm going to ask for recommendations for books to read, including things I normally wouldn't read. I thought about doing this last year, but I'm trying to just read for pleasure right now, if I can ever manage to concentrate for long.
I'm currently reading:
Tuck Everlasting All the President's Men Lovecraft Country The Road to Little Dribbling (a re-read) and a book I got for my birthday, two years ago, about reincarnation, or the afterlife (both).

Preventable, by Andy Slavitt. A really decent guy, who works in healthcare, who worked to set up Obamacare. Not a big pharma shill, a man who works to help those of us who don’t have billions of dollars to spend, if we get really sick. It’s a good book. And all of this was preventable. If only rump hadn’t got rid of the pandemic response team that Obama put in place, because of his insane jealousy and ego, and his complete lack of morals, as well as the fact that he does not give a shot about the citizens of this country.
