New to astrology and the concept of planetary returns! When looking at charts of two romantic individuals, and their planetary returns: do Venus returns need to or tend to align for long term romantic relationships: such as when first meeting?
For example: a Venus return of one in the 7th house, with close relation to the sun also In Leo 7th house, while the Venus return of the same year for another individual occurring in the 1st house in Scorpio, but without other planets close in conjunction.
Interestingly, for the second partner’s Venus return chart the ascendant is in Libra, descendant is in Aries, north node in Aries, south node in Libra. And the first person Venus return chart also has north node in Aries, south node in Libra, ascendant in Pisces, descendant in Virgo.
Additionally in the composite chart the ascendant is in Aries, descendant is Libra, with north node in Pisces, south node in virgo. The composite chart sun in 29 degrees Libra, conjunct mercury 0 degrees Scorpio, both falling in the 7th house, and composite Venus 0 degrees Libra in the 6th house.
So there are a few interesting connections here, even without looking at the synastry relations, but I’m curious if it’s important for the two Venus return charts in a given year to line up or show Venus alignments since it happens to be the year the two meet and strike up a romantic relationship?

Hi emrm , welcome to Astrogarden. I haven't studied Venus returns much, but I believe they describe the individual energy more. For example, your Venus return chart would probably describe your own upcoming love life, possibly even the timing of events *for you*. While one can certainly compare any two charts, I would compare the progressed charts (natals, synastry, composite) before I would the VR's. Especially for the 'timing' between two people. For example, someone's progressed Moon on your Sun might indicate them entering your life or a significant period of connection if they're already in your life. Once we work out how your Venus Return applies to you, we can then look for parallels in their charts, IMO. Btw, which composite are you talking about here? Composite between the natals, right?

Hi @12yearsablob Thank you so very much!! Ahh that's a very good point about the progressed charts and the timing. How would you calculate the progressed charts for individuals? So, it would be possible for two individual VR charts to be very different, yet still the timing and perhaps relationship chart between the two could be significant? And yes, I was talking about a composite chart between the two natals, midpoint method.

Yes, the whole picture has to be taken into account. To get your progressed chart: Go to astro.com --> click on the 'Horoscopes' drop-down --> select 'Extended Chart Selection'. Now, enter your birth data, and under 'Chart Type,' select 'Progressed Chart.' *Progressed Synastry: Save both parties' progressed charts and then select 'Synastry' under 'Chart Types.' *Progressed Composite: Simply click on 'Progressed Composite' in 'Chart Types.' If you'd like to study/discuss any of these charts, please feel free to post them (in the 'Readings' forum) along with your natals.

Btw, when I first saw your title I thought you were referring to a composite Venus Return. That's something I'd like to explore. Love ebbs and flows and I wonder if a couple's composite/draconic Venus Return might show some of that.

Hi @12yearsablob Thanks so much for all your thoughtful replies, I am sorry to have been MIA here. That sure would be interesting to view a composite Venus Return!! I will check out Astro.com to create the progressed synastry and progressed composite. I am definitely curious about exploring this topic further.
