Well, since I am a sucker for midpoints, at least they come up again and again to my mental surface, I was just thinking about them again. But this time broadened the orb to 2 degrees, as this video that Ava had posted a bit ago suggested, but also eleminating any midpoints that contain an angle (something like Venus/ASC for example), and just using the personal planets; outer planets I checked only if they are dispositing a luminary or are on an angle. Well I would never dream of NOT looking at midpoints to my Jupiter for example. Actually I am inclined to treat Jupiter and SAturn as sort of personal planets, just having a feeling midpoints to Jupiter might for example signify what is being supported and broadened and extended by the contact with the Jupiter-person, and with Saturn there is the reverse happening, more of a focusing, maybe in some cases also getting too serious to the extent of feeling a bit like "putting brakes" on the other person, though some people might need that. Also not differentiating,b ut just listing all conjunctions/ oppositions/ squares. Well acutally I just started out checking my parent`s overwiew, they just have had their 49th wedding anniversary this week, so it seemed sort of timely. lol my Mom`s planets to my Dad`s midpoints: her ASC = her Uranus = his Mars/ Neptune her Sun = his Mercury/ Venus (wide) = his Mercury/Pluto her Mercury = his Jupiter = his Venus = his Sun/Pluto = his Venus/Jupiter her Pluto (Sun-dispositor= = his Mars/Uranus her Node = his Jupiter/Juno = his Venus/Juno her MC = his Jupiter/Juno = his Venus/Juno = his Mars/Jupiter = Moon/Mercury = Sun/Neptune = Venus/Mars her Mars = his Mars/Pluto = his Venus/Neptune = his Jupiter/Neptune her Venus = his Sun/Moon * = his Neptune/Pluto her Moon = his Mars/Saturn Well, I did not really delve into details, but find it interesting that her Venus = his Sun/Moon is a) direct (opposite, 18 Virgo - 18 Pisces) b) tight orb (0°08) c) connected to his own natal Saturn-ASC-conjunction (both on 18 Virgo) - so this one seems very precise All in all just looking over it, lots of midpoints involving Jupiter as well as Venus and Mars, which probably does not come as a surprise. Mercury also features strongly, which is not too surprising either, as he has a Virgo-ASC, with Mercury in Cap exactly trine Saturn on the ASC, and my Mom has a stellium in Virgo (Moon, Venus, Mars), of which Venus and Mars are conjunct, and Venus is especially tightly connected to my Dad`s Saturn-ASC, and trine his Mercury, so the midpoint picture seems to support that from another angle. my Dad`s planets - my Mom`s midpoints his Uranus (Sun-dispositor) = her Mars/Neptune = Moon/Jupiter = Moon/Saturn his Mercury = her Sun/Jupiter = Moon/Mercury his Mars = his Node = her Jupiter = her Saturn = her Sun/Mars* = Jupiter/Saturn = Moon/Neptune = Sun/Venus his Moon = her Venus/Juno = Mercury/Neptune = Uranus/Pluto his Sun = her Moon/Juno his Venus = her Mars/Uranus* = her Venus/Uranus his MC = her Mercury/Uranus = Saturn/Pluto his ASC = her Venus/Mars (wide) * Well his Mars = her Sun/Mars is interesting, as Sun/Mars represents the combination of the two most personal masculine energies in our chart, so among other things, it could represent what one considers to be "a man" and there it is. his Venus is opposite her Mars/Uranus quite tightly, and in this instance this is a Yod figure, my Mom`s Mars on 14 Virgo sextiles her ASC on 12 Virgo and my Dad`s Venus is on 14 Aqua. Also both have an angle activating the other`s Venus/Mars-midpoint, although it is just a few minutes out of 2 degree orb, but since it is about angles, it could be that the birthtimes should be corrected a minute or two. Anyway just leaving this here as my personal brainstorming. lol

Happy anniversary to your parents, lumina! Well, I did not really delve into details, but find it interesting that her Venus = his Sun/Moon is a) direct (opposite, 18 Virgo - 18 Pisces) b) tight orb (0°08) c) connected to his own natal Saturn-ASC-conjunction (both on 18 Virgo) - so this one seems very precise My husband and I have Venus = sun/moon as well. 6°16' Virgo, his Venus 6°39' Virgo, his sun/moon 6°35' Sag, my Venus I have Saturn/Pluto mp @ 6°09' Virgo. They are quintile to each other, perhaps that takes some of the edge off. Speaking of that Virgo/Pisces axis... My natal moon @ 18° Pisces opposes my natal Juno @ 19° Virgo; these are opposing/conjunct my husband's: 17 Virgo Neptune/Pluto 17 Virgo Venus/Jupiter 18 Virgo Uranus/Neptune 18 Virgo moon/Mercury 18 Virgo sun/Neptune (His pr sun @ 17 Virgo exactly conjunct my pr Juno Rx to the minute when we got married.) There's more but I'm interested in patterns, so I just focused on whatever matched your parents, in one way or another. Pls don't quote

It's a bit disappointing that I haven't found many midpoint links in synastry yet. So, nothing to add right now. But it's interesting to see other peoples' midpoint synastry.

I like using midpoints in synastry because it gives an entirely new meaning in a couple ways.
I have a list of 700 planetary linkages for synastry, for Magi Astrology. I found it in bits and pieces on a forum years ago.
I first take the 2 people’s birth charts and I get the midpoints of their planets, and then I check this new midpoint composite chart against the 700 linkages, and I get a list using 4 categories of the linkages: Luck, Love, Sex, & Drama
I assign points to the linkage according to its exactness of the orb and to the importance of the planet.
If the total of the 3 good categories are 2x or 3x as much as the drama, then it is deemed as good.
I have a 6 part relationship analysis that I use to get a wide range of important information.
(This could be slightly wrong, I have to take a look at my code to make sure. It was ages since I first coded this.)
The first meeting chart I do is midpoints of the 2 people, and then I compare it with the 700 Magi Astrology synastry linkages. This shows how well the couple thought of each other when they first met, or communicated.
Next I use that midpoint chart, and do a synastries. I will post better details later.
An overview of the data I gather is in 6 parts:
Part 1: how pos/neg charged was the first meeting for both people? Part 2: what is the potential relationship, is it very good, average, or below average & bad Part 3&4, how each person feels about the relationship Parts 5&6: how the relationship affects each of them.
The last 2 parts are interesting because it will show who would break up first. Or if it is equally good for both people, they may not break up.
The middle 2 parts, shows how each person feels about the relationship (the potential relationship, midpoint chart, as if the relationship is a person of its own). If the numbers are low for one of the 2 people, it will not work long term. If the numbers are about the same, and high, they could stay together. If the numbers are both low, they won’t stay together.
The potential relationship midpoint chart describes the 700 Magi linkages into Luck, Sex, Love & Drama. This means you can see the benefits of the relationship quickly for the couple. Staying in the relationship will be a benefit or detriment equally to both people, and it shows how this will be, weighted more towards amazing sex, or financial luck and prosperity or tons of pure Chiron everlasting love and acceptance. Or will it be a drama fest and explode eventually. So you can see so much with the way I set it up.
That’s good for now. Let me know if you are curious to see how I organized the linkages. Or do you have any thoughts or comments?
Overall I can say that midpoints are extremely useful in showing how a relationship will play out, and determining the quality of a potiential relationship. Go midpoints!

my Dad`s planets - my Mom`s midpoints Can you tell me what information the above gives you? What is it tell you? Her midpoints to his planets. Also when you say your mother’s midpoints, what is it the midpoints of, todays date with her planets? I’m curious because I have applied midpoints to my love compatibility. Here is how I use them: —————- I have a 6 part relationship compatibility. The 1st is synastry between his planets and her planets. This reveals how the dynamics of how the two met. If it was good or irritating in the first meeting. You use the list of Synastry Magi Aspects. My 2nd page is the midpoints of his planets and her planets, the near midpoint or the far midpoint, I think I use the far one. This tells us how strong is the potential of the relationship for all time. You use the list of self Magi Aspects, instead of the Synastry aspects. My 3rd and 4th pages are the midpoint chart of the potential, synastry from that to her planets, and next that to his planets. This reveals how they feel about the potential relationship, as if the potential relationship is an actual created person, when 2 people are around each other. You use the list of Synastry Magi Aspects. The Next 2 pages are how the relationship affects each person. This reveals who would want to break up first, or if they both will want to stay together. it takes the potential relationship midpoint chart from earlier and gets another midpoint chart from that to her, and from that to him. You use the list of self Magi Aspects, instead of the Synastry aspects. I heard that you could keep using midpoints to get more and more information

astrologylearner Your posts here read along the lines of "I know something you don't." It's not pleasant to keep reading this. We know you have a great website. Can you interact here without promoting it? What can you share with us that we can apply on our own right now? That's how we do astrology. It's generous all around. "Also when you say your mother’s midpoints, what is it the midpoints of, todays date with her planets?" If you don't know the answer to this, how do you have a website relying heavily on midpoints? It's simple to find this information at astro.com.

To locate midpoints at astro.com, select "Ebertin style (w. midpoints)" for the Chart drawing style, then once the chart comes up, click on "PDF Additional Tables" above the chart. Scroll down to see midpoints in zodiacal order; you need to know planetary glyphs to read them.
To read "Midpoints in 90-degree order," just know they are grouped according to modality: first 30 degrees combine all cardinal midpoints, next thirty degrees are fixed, last thirty are mutable. This is an easy way to find fourth harmonic aspects (conjunction, square, opposition).

It's simple to find this information at astro.com. I’m sorry. My knowledge is little but deep. I only know a little bit, and I know that small amount well. I’m a researcher, and a slow coder, but im not an astrologer. I want to understand more but honestly you and many others seem smarter than me. I only do astrology through my own way. It’s not by learning everything. I like to chase down mysteries that seem possible. I may have a certain tone to what I say that is not approachable. For that im sorry. You all know more than me. Im just trying to participate and share things, but what I know is because of my prior astrology website. Im sorry but I didn’t learn astrology from all of the sources. Sometimes I think I'm really not that smart, but I don’t give up. So I apologize if I'm don’t act like a typical astrologer. Im not. So perhaps I came to the forum hoping to find someone who could help me learn Magi Astrology for sports. I try to be helpful, but I’m sorry if I don’t know how to interact with people using common sense. I grew up without a lot of people around. It was an interesting experiment to try this forum but I guess I don’t really fit into what how you guys operate. Thanks for helping out. By the way, if you come across anyone who could help me with my sports question for magi astrology, please let me know. Otherwise, continue what you’re doing and I hope all is well for you guys. I’m going to try not to participate and only read stuff on here, since I am not having a good affect on people it seems from the moderators feedback.

Hi astrologylearner , You're absolutely very welcome to post on the forum. The forum is split into various sub forums and it's important to know the purpose of each. As the forum grows we want to keep it tidy and in order as much as possible. People go to the astrology sub forums because they want to discuss the astrology itself: - The basic astrology/Advanced astrology and relationship astrology cover discussions where the focus is on the actual astrology topics (e.g. The astrological reason for something happening, discussions on aspects, astrology of relationships etc....) - if you wanted to talk about Magi astrology(the aspects/patterns/things you've noticed/what it is etc...) or sports astrology you would talk about it in one of these forums - If you want to share or talk about a learning resource(for example a website) in detail and/or it's capabilites/give examples of the output you would post it in the library sub forum Then there are other sub forums that go over other topics that are not specific to astrology(eg. spirituality, health, general chatting etc..). I'm very much an amateur in astrology, im still trying to figure out my own natal chart. I know nothing about Magi or sports astrology if im honest but if i was to do a study in this area i would probably do something like the following: - choose a sport to focus on(eg. football(as in soccer)) - Pick a year to do the study - which team came first/last and finished mid-table in the league(or perhaps focusing on a knock-out competition) - who is in the teams and look at the natal charts of the individuals(i guess mars/ascendant/6th house stuff for fitness and the 2nd for eating habits? or whatever approach Magi astrology uses) - look at the synastry/composites between the individuals in the team and the team manager - comparisons between teams While alot of individuals can be great players, in a team sport its important that the team gel/have great chemistry(so synastry/composite) If you want to get more into predictions/further explanations - there is transits/solar returns/lunar/horary astrology but they are more advanced topics. The above would be very time consuming - so perhaps more individual sports? Then if you're going to talk about your astrological findings/ask advice on how to approach and astrology topic it would then be done in the subforums that cover astrology. It's not to say you can mention a website at all in those sub forums, but the focus should be the astrology itself. These are just some thoughts, sorry to de-rail the thread. Please no quoting my posts

I`ve done my fair share of Magi astrology several years ago. It seemed compelling, the structured approach, the planetary geometry, linkages and clashes.
However over the years I´ve come to see that they are not only elitist, but also inconsistent in their approach (adding more and more asteroids, but seemingly arbitrarily, and attributing meaning just as arbitrary to them), and furthermore it doesn`t work like this consistently.
I am aware that someone really invested in Magi astrology, would say that I am just not good enough or not knowledgeable enough to apply it or not being aware of their secret informations. Well, so be it.
Chiron linkages, while having their benefits, are no Cinderella fairytale rosedust stories, just as much as Juno linkages are no strictly mistress-linkages.
I do now and then like to look into it again, but mostly for entertainment purposes; while I am myself having a tendency to like to have a systematic approach, with putting things in the good or not so good category, I`ve learned that this can only be a first approach, a first idea; however it cannot be used to come to a real judgement about a synastry or any other chart-method. People are different, and actually for some it seems that the so called clashes are what keeps them invested in a relationship, while others seek out more easygoing relationships. It really depends what each one wants in a relationship, so these categorizations cannot work for everyone in the same degree, though I agree they might be a good place to start (well the better place to start are the natals of course).
Anyway I am not going to go over the midpoints in my parent`s charts, because frankly I`m simply not in the mood to do so. Maybe at one point I will be, but not now. Also I would need to share some personal information, when interpreting those in detail, which I do not want to on a public forum. I know that this might be unsatisfying for anyone else reading this.
Just one thought, midpoints are where the energies of different planets merge, a bit like a conjunction, or merging point, which has to be activated. That means everyone has for example the potential for have a Venus-Mars-blend or conjunction or merging, but ONLY in respect to either a timeframe (when a transit wakes it up or a progression) or in respect to another person or relationship. I do believe that composite planets can also trigger natal midpoints for example.
Just an example:
If composite Sun is falling onto my Venus/Mars-mp, I might be very invested in that relationship,a s it makes me feel alive and maybe even passionate. However it does of course depend on what Venus and Mars are doing in my chart. If I have a square between them, that midpoint activation might feel more tensed for me, as if I have them in trine, when I just flow more easily with it.
In short, in my personal approach, I am inclined to think that it does make a difference, or giving a more detailed interpretaion, if we consider the underlying aspects, if present, when we encounter a midpoint-picture. Possibly even minor aspects might play a role here.
However, first of all I have not researched it in systematic ways, just anecdotically, and secondly it has nothing to do with Magi astrology, and well at least currently I am not interested in their approach. Sorry.

astrologylearner, Assuming you are being sincere and genuinely don't get it: I don’t really fit into what how you guys operate. There's nothing to fit into. It's just about engaging in conversations as they are. It seems like your responses are not so much responses as a means to segue into advertising. Secondly, no-one expects you to know anything in particular. But if one makes claims, one should be able to back them up. That's all.

I do believe that composite planets can also trigger natal midpoints for example. That's interesting. I've been thinking of my midpoints as having an energy all their own. For example, my moon-Venus midpoint is in late Capricorn. Because the moon and Venus are both receptive energies, this midpoint seems partly defined by what it is craving. Then along comes someone else's planet there, and I recognize it as matching the craving. There is a king of moth-to-flame attraction here, even platonically, I tend to I recognize that energy immediately as something special or worth sticking with. But that says something about me and how I am intrinsically. I think my moon-Venus is conjunct yours and might be one reason we tend to agree on certain things. Thoughts?
