I read that Noel Tyl re-discovered the 165° aspect, which he refers to as Quindecile which is the actually the name of 24° aspect, through researching the chart of Leonardo Da Vinci. Some other astrologers refer to it as the Johndro. Some other astrologers refer to it as the Contraquindecile which was the term used by Robert P. Blaschke in his book Sabian Aspect Orbs that I have. I prefer to call it the UndeciVinginquartile based on it being 11/24th harmonic aspect.
I noticed that Solar Fire has Leonardo Da Vinci as being born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy at 10 PM.
I read that Noel Tyl rectified his time at 10:30 PM.
With 10 PM birth time, Leonardo has Moon 165° Neptune with an orb of 0°25'.
With Noel Tyl's rectified time, Leonardo has Moon 165° Neptune with an orb of 0°36'.
BUT
there is a problem of contradicting birth info
Astrodatabank has Leonardo Da Vinci as being born on April 14th at 9:40 PM
Astrodatabank points out the following:
" As it was Florentine time and sunset was 6:40 PM, three hours after sunset would be c. 9:40 PM which was still April 14 by modern reckoning. The conversion to NS adds nine days = April 23 NS. PC gives 10:00 PM. Blackwell gives 9:46 PM.
(Noel Tyl rectifies to 10:30 PM, however he does not take Florentine time into consideration and uses the date of April 15/25, adding ten days instead of nine.)"
I looked at Leonardo's chart as him being born on April 14, 1452 in Vinci, Italy at 9:40 PM.
Moon 165° Neptune is clearly not in the chart.
His Moon and Neptune have a separation of 152° 49.
Many astrologers will view that as Moon quincunx Neptune with an orb of 2° 49
I have been using a maximum orb of 1° 30 for many years since reading Robert Hand's recommendations in his book Horoscope back in 2003.
Since deeply delving into harmonics since exploring the Golden Mean Aspect and its related aspects created by Dr. Theodor Landscheidt with the help of Sirius and Solar Fire, I have seriously reconsidered harmonic proportionate orbs.
I have started using a harmonic proportionate orb of 1°15 for the minor 12th harmonic aspects Semi-sextile aka Duodecile (1/12th) and Quincunx aka QuinqueDuodecile (5/12th) based on the orb of 15° for the conjunction.
In Leonardo's 12th Harmonic chart, Moon and Neptune are no way near being in conjunction which is expected for an actual 12th harmonic aspect. Moon and Neptune have a separation of 33° 48, and that's the 1/11th aspect Undecile (32°43'37'') which has a proportion orb of 1°21'49''. Therefore, the frequency of the 12th harmonic is non-existent even though most astrologers would consider his Moon and Neptune as being in quincunx.
Noel Tyl asserted and promoted that 165° aspect has to do with obsessive compulsion. There is strong potential for obsessive compulsion in Leonardo Da Vinci, but it's definitely not from a non-existent Moon 165° Neptune based on a birthdate that was one day off. Leonardo's obsessive compulsion can easily be seen with his Sun square Pluto with an orb of 1°26 in both Ecliptic Longitude and 3D (True separation). Astrologers would also point out that Leonardo had Moon quincunx Pluto with an orb of 2°03, but Moon and Pluto have a separation of 24°45 which is actually a Quindecile (24°) which has a proportion orb of 1°.
I really like Leonardo Da Vinci's chart from the Babylonian Astrological perspective which includes the Sidereal Zodiac. I like that he has a Moon-Jupiter conjunction of an orb of 1°36 in Aquarius. The constellation Gu-la (Aquarius) 'The Great One' represented Ea/Enki who was the Lord of the Waters who dwelled in the Apsu which is the watery region underneath the earth. He was the God strongly associated with Creation, Fertility (especially semen), Wisdom, Intelligence, Knowledge, Magic, Arts, and Crafts. He was viewed as being both creator of and friends to humans. He was a like a combination of Poseidon/Neptune and Prometheus. Leonardo's Mars was in Capricorn. The goat-fish was one of Ea/Enki's symbols, and so the constellation Sahur-Mas-Ku (Capricornus) 'The Goat-fish' was associated with him too. Ea/Enki was associated with the Southern part of the Sky.
I will be making a blog post of Leonardo Da Vinci from the 21st Century Astrological perspective with the birthdata from Astrodatabank.
