I wanted to see what the cards would say about a matter related to my studies. I have the option of doing my PhD as a single thesis (one major research) or a series of papers (that is 3 smaller topics of research) for publication. Both these options have their pros and cons. I pulled 3 cards each and got:
1) Series of papers for publication - Knight of wands, 9 of cups, knight of cups
2) A single thesis - 4 of wands, 9 of pants, 10 of pents
Which do you think has the better spread? Both look positive to me. It appears that (1) will appeal to me more. It will engage my intuition, empathy and creativity. On the other hand, in (2) the 4 of wands spells celebration and harmony. 9 and 10 of pents, however, could spell a safe and pleasant environment which lead to boredom.
Would appreciate anyone's views of this.

I dont really see one being more positive than the other to be honest, they both look nice to me. I think it's just telling you what it will be like. What is the better spread is subjective.
1 - tells me there is more collaboration than 2. I would read the knight and king as people - so not positive or negative. With the 9 cups in the middle shows you all have a similar wish - perhaps getting something published. The second spread shows you working hard going towards your own goal. 9(goal) towards 10(completion). 4 wands I just thought of working hard(wands) at a desk(4 legs of a table), so seems stable/consistent.
Sorry im not so exciting with my interpretation. What were the exact questions you asked?

Thanks, vg ! In each instance, I asked if the option would be better for me. I like how you are interpreting some of the cards more literally than I am, which is something one learns to do with Leno. Option 1 has a couple of advantages in that it keeps enthusiasm and interest going as one addresses new research every 6 months or so. Also, once a paper has been written up, a 3rd of the PhD is completed. Option 2 is a long, cumulative process which one could tire of.
