Hi!š One of my favourite asteroids is Pieta (or Pietas). In ancient Rome was a chief virtue. Translated variously as "duty", "devotion" ,"loyalty", "religiosity", "religious behavior". The English word piety derives from Latin. The Greek word for this is "eusebeia".
Of course, I am not at all churchy, I find it too gloomy, serious and boring. Deadly boring indeed. But...I like people love their homes, families and coundries, Gods-Goddesess, without strictness fanatism and dogma. It is good to care. Parents to love and protect their children. For me, Pietas is something more open, than to respect your parents, children, and love and care for your own people only, than to love and serve the olders and coundry. Pieta for me, is to feel our duty to help. A chIld, an animal, a tree, e. t. c.
And people to live with Dharma. (with that, who everyone feels that are their Dharma)
And with tenderness and devotion. And to know all of us, for what to care about, and look after. That is my way, to see and feel Pietas. Well, my Pieta is in 12th house and in 12 degrees in Sidereal Gemini Sun Parallel Pieta Moon Conjuct Pieta 1 degree 24' Mars Conjuct Pieta 2 degrees 49' Saturn R, Trine Pieta 3 degrees 15' Jupiter Parallel Pieta Uranus Sextile Pieta 2 degrees 29' North node Conjuct Pieta 4 degrees 55' (too far away?) Great post Lionessmind, much appreciated. Immediately I thought of "The Pieta," the Michelangelo sculpture of Mary holding Jesus' body. Since my first thought was art, it was nice to see I have the asteroid conjunct Venus 6.35 Sag Venus 8.38 Sag Pieta 8.24 Sag Yeshuhua...along with many other religious asteroids clustered on my Venus

Lionessmind, I too think of Pieta as Michelangelo's statue of Mary holding Jesus. it seems to communicate sorrow, compassion, or the loss of a loved one. This is the explanation given by Wiki: A pietĆ (meaning "pity", "compassion") is a subject in Christian art depicting the Virgin Mary cradling the dead body of Jesus, most often found in sculpture. In my chart, it is the 12th house, not forming close aspects with planets.

In my chart it is in the 10th house in virgo not really doing anything, it seems to do more in synastry. In synastry mine is in my bf's 1st. His is conjunct my Sun and squares my moon.
My son's is conjunct my moon and vesta in my 9th(his 5th) and is opposite my neptune. Falls in his fathers 10th house opposite father's Jupiter. I guess will also be conjunct his new sibling's NN when they arrive also.
pls dnt quote

Oh, no! Sorry girls! My mistake! I will explain. When I first read about Pietas, was for a Roman Goddess Pietas, personification of duty and mercy, in ancient times. After, I show the Buanaroti's "Pieta", but I do not mean that. I want to say for the Roman virtue, not the Christianity.
I know, this asteroid named after this sculpt of Decapitation of Jesus, (or "Apokathilosis" in Greek), and I do not understand why. A note from Wikipaidia:
"Pietas translated variously as "duty", "religiosity", "religious behavior" "loyalty" "devotion" or filial piety (English "piety" derives from the Latin). The sacred nature of pietas was embodied by the divine personification Pietas, a Goddess often pictured on Roman coins. The Greek equivalent is eusebeia (ĪµĻ
ĻĪĪ²ĪµĪ¹Ī±). What do you think? Can we adopt this asteroid, and to separately this from the Christian point of view?

Lionessmind , it would be perfectly alright for Pieta to have two meanings, one of that of the Roman Goddess and the other of the depiction of Mary's sorrow. Each person can interpret Pieta according to their chart and how it relates to other planets and asteroids. There are many asteroids that can be interpreted in different ways - Pallas, for example, has many meanings. Often it is how the asteroid shows up in people's charts informs us how it can be interpreted. Certainly, the meaning of Pieta as a religious sense of piety is an important one.

I have it at 17*Virgo. I don't know if it aspects anything, since people are generally strict with orbs, when it comes to asteroids. I think it's in my 11th house.
I'm not religious, I'm kind of spiritual, but I'm having trouble with all of that, just when it comes to what it's supposed to mean. When people say, "that isn't spiritual" as though you're supposed to not get involved in anything, not supposed to speak out, not supposed to have an opinion. I believe that we're connected, in energy, both good and bad - when I'm depressed or angry, I don't like the idea of leaving that energy with others.
I love old churches. We did a (mostly) church walk, in December 2018, and I got a few pictures of my favourites. One was a Gothic church, it looked spooky, but also pretty. I do like the idea of a building like that, giving some feelings of comfort - a place to go, when you have nowhere or no-one else. Or just to be quiet, and try to connect to a higher power, if you believe in it.
