😉Hi to all! I am the Lionmind2, and I love astrology, and especially asteroids.....so, I communicate often with AstroGarden, and sent my replies. Or have questions to do. And, so, one day I wrote about asteroid Fides. Dear Ava , was send me her riplay, and was asking me if I would like to create a thread. I was accept. It will be very nice to discussing about asteroids (and for planets of course), because we learn more for our selves, e.c I think, asteroid Fides, is very much important in natal chart. It shows how much loyal we are and faithful. I will be very happy you send me your replay about Fides, and to learn more. This article is from: THE ROMAN CONCEPT OF FIDES @http://www.csun.edu>~hcfll004> f... "FIDES" is often (and wrongly) translated 'faith', but it has nothing to do with the word as used by Christians writing in Latin about the Christian virute (St. Paul Letter to the Corinthians, chapter 13). For the Romans, FIDES was an essential element in the character of a man of public affairs, and a necessary constituent element of all social and political transactions (perhaps = 'good faith'). FIDES meant 'reliablilty', a sense of trust between two parties if a relationship between them was to exist. FIDES was always reciprocal and mutual, and implied both privileges and responsibilities on both sides. In both public and private life the violation of FIDES was considered a serious matter, with both legal and religious consequences. FIDES, in fact, was one of the first of the 'virtues' to be considered an actual divinity at Rome. The Romans had a saying, "Punica fides" (the reliability of a Carthaginian) which for them represented the highest degree of treachery: the word of a Carthaginian (like Hannibal) was not to be trusted, nor could a Carthaginian be relied on to maintain his political relationships. Lionessmind , thanks for this. I'll first add a note on Fides from Wikipedia: "Fides (Latin: Fidēs) was the goddess of trust and bona fides (good faith) in Roman paganism. She was one of the original virtues to be considered an actual religious divinity. Fides is everything that is required for "honour and credibility, from fidelity in marriage to contractual arrangements, and the obligation soldiers owed to Rome.". Fides also means reliability, "reliability between two parties, which is always reciprocal." and "bedrock of relations between people and their communities", and then it was turned into a Roman deity and from which we gain the English word, 'fidelity." In the progressed composite with a friend, Fides trines Constantia and Devota. So, it is very much part of the theme of asteroids showing loyalty and fidelity. In our sticky "Asteroid lists by theme" we have a list of asteroids for Fidelity which include Fides. astrogarden.proboards.com/thread/1440/asteroid-lists-theme

That`s actually kinda weird. I was just - randomely - checking two guy`s / performer`s charts for this asteroid (simply cause I have been a little in contact with both of them yesterday. lol), turns out both have Fides on 16 Aquarius. 16°31 and 16°39 Aquarius. And coincidentally conjunct my natal Moon on 17°06 Aqua. That is curious and funny.
my own FIDES is on 7°50 Cap, roughly conjunct my Venus on 6°07 Cap, and very closely conjunct my OSIRIS on 7°50 and ISIS on 8°32 Cap.
Another actor, who curiously has been "accompanying" my life for the last 4 years and I suppose somehow we became aquaintances though some shared interests and events, has Fides on 23°58 Gemini opposing my Sun by a bit less than 2 degrees.
Well to talk about some closer relationships, my Dad`s Fides is conjunct my Mom`s NN and MC. My Mom`s Fides is conjunct my Dad`s Juno exactly.

lumina , could it be that they are the same age - hence the same degree? Lovely to have Osiris and Isis conjunct Venus. Incidentally, my Isis and Osiris are also conjunct - wonder what the conjunction entails. It's certainly nothing to do with long term close romantic relationships. I've had no luck on that score. Oppositions are usually described as indicating tensions or challenges but I don't see it as that in my own charts. Would you agree?

@astrokeen
No, they are 13 years apart in age. Maybe the Asteroid has a four year cycle and through retrogradation was a Bit slower, so this conjunction Happens.
Well Isis and Osiris are very archetypical. They are Said to be twinsouls. Mythologically an interesting Story. I wouldnt really judge romantic success in an Asteroid couple alone though. Besides Like most of These Stories Separation Figures strongly Just As Union does.
Oppositions are to me Like full moons. A Bit at least. There can BE tensions, and being far apart. The greatest possible distance ist an Opposition. But also the distance involved makes IT possible to See the Other clearly, so IT is about Illumination too. I experience some oppositions As separative and Well true oppositions, and Others are much more positive, fascinating and striving to Bridge this distance and at least seeing the Other Person.

Also oppositions have the Same modality and compatible Elements, so there ist Common ground, at least in theory.

Please, can someone tell me how to transport articles, photos, videos, and charts, from one site to another? Each case is different. If you post a video link, the video should appear automatically. For photos, select the "Insert image" button in the toolbar above. (The toolbar appears automatically if you quote someone, or if you hit Reply on the top right.) If you hover your cursor over the buttons, the name of each button appears (link, email, insert image, insert video, etc.) To post charts, you need a photo hosting site like imgur. If you have an account there you can upload charts from astro.com. Simply click on the chart at astro.com and a duplicate will appear in a new tab. You can right-click on that chart and select "copy image address." Then at imgur, create new post, and use "Ctrl V" to paste the chart. Then you can right-click on that, copy image address and paste here by selecting the "insert image" button in the toolbar above. I think there may be a thread on this somewhere else. Let us know if you need more help. --- I liked seeing all those connections with your friend and thanks for mentioning 446 Aeternitas! I didn't know it existed. Thanks for creating this thread.

😩Oh, sorry, I forgot to write about the symbols of Fides. So, lets start, with an article of community "The white Goddess":
Fides is the Goddess of trust, good faith and honesty. She is depicted as a young woman crowned with an olive branch, a cup, turtle, or a military ensign in her hand. She wears a white veil as a symbol of purity. Also symbolised by a heart in an open hand or two right hands clasped. Love 💕🐚🌊 Lionmind

Thank you Lionessmind and @astrokeen for the information. I'm grateful for this thread; I haven't paid enough attention to this asteroid. It's almost strange that Fides isn't as popular as Juno. Someone was kind enough to send me a list of my asteroid placements a few years back. Asterope 233, 13 PI 01' 51" Polyhymnia 33, 13 PI 52' 18" Europa 52, 14 PI 21' 43" Fides 37, 14 PI 37' 46" Felicitas 109, 15 PI 33' 43" Sibylla 168, 15 PI 53' 54" Amor 1221, 15 PI 54' 51" I just pulled up that list and finally paid attention to the fact that Polyhymnia is conjunct Fides. That's funny to me, because whenever I see Fides, I automatically think of "Adeste Fideles" (O Come All Ye Faithful). If I listen to that then other songs come to mind. Well all these asteroids are fairly close to my 18 Pisces moon, and I'm prone to getting lost in music anyway. As for synastry, - One close friend has Fides @ 18 Virgo conjunct Mercury and near her 14 Virgo moon - My ex has Fides @ 18 Cancer - My husband's Fides @ 13 Sag conjunct my natal Neptune, square my Fides, square my pr Juno on pr ASC (@ 13 Virgo) - My best friend's Fides exact on my Saturn, conjunct my draconic Cancer moon (which is more or less conjunct her draco Cancer moon) My parents 28 Sag, his Fides 28 Leo, his Neptune 26 Leo, his Juno 23.50 Leo, her sun (noon) 25 Libra, her Fides 24-25 Libra, his sun-Mars 28 Aqua, her Juno Using her noon chart, which is also her nodal chart, and his known birth time, the composite has: 26.50 Scorpio Fides 27.17 Scorpio ASC 27.32 Taurus Juno on the DSC Pls don't quote

Seeing my parents' composite Fides-Juno opposition, it's intriguing to see this repetition:
My husband and I have comp Fides @ 29 Cap opposing pr comp Juno @ 29 Cancer.
Juno is stationary retrograde (ie, not moving much.) So this was in effect when we got married and still now.
The man who married us has a late Cap sun.
