This was posted to my blog and I thought I should post it here as well. Interesting thing to discuss especially with me being a musician and all
Enjoy
Often I see people wondering what creative factors might be present in their natal charts. Me, being a musician myself, often tries to find out what indicators in my natal chart lead to creativity. This can include art, music, writing, and etc. Knowing this, I thought I would make a thread explaining my thoughts on what factors can contribute to creativity.
One factor I think holds serious potential when it comes to pin-pointing creativity is the fifth house. Many people may not realize that like Pisces, Leo can be creative as well because creativity can be described as a form of self-expression, and as you should know, Leo really knows how to express themselves. Check out what the fifth house is doing in your natal chart in order to see what’s going on for you in creative matters. If there’s nothing there, you may not feel as expressive in creative matters as those who have a packed fifth house. Heck, it doesn’t even have to be a bunch of planets; I only have Jupiter in my fifth and I’m quite creative. The planet in the fifth house can describe your approach to creative matters and the type of creativity you like to indulge in. With my Jupiter in the 5th in Pisces, I often indulge in emotional music of various cultures and genres, ranging from Orchestra to Dubstep to Japanese Music and even Atonal Music (weird, isn’t it lol).
Planets I like to look at when determining this are Mercury, Venus, Uranus, Moon, and Neptune. Quite a bit of planets yes, but seeing what these planets are doing in your natal chart can give you clues as to how creative you may be. Neptune is a planet you should really pay attention to, and I mean it; this planet is usually the first one looks to for creativity. I have A three-way connection between my Merc-Neptune and Sun, so naturally I am a creative individual. I also have Moon Trine Neptune, which allows a seamless flow of emotions into creative matters such as expression through music. Hard aspects can possibly indicate a “lock” on your creativity, where you feel you may not be able to express it, or the other way around in where you may be “overly creative” in which you can indulge in it so much that it can potentially cause issues. I’m not going to go into the issues right now, but seeing how these planets work with one another can give you ideas.
Mercury is an important planet to look at when it comes to writing. Mercury-Neptune aspects, especially the conjunction and harmonious aspects, are aspects in which you can literally take what you are thinking and put it to paper in the most dynamic of ways. Your imagination is your fuel and your pen/keyboard (in my case lol) is your linkage to the paper. It is also an important planet to look at when it comes to singing. Those with Mercury-Venus aspects can have such beautiful voices that can allow for them to be known as “beautiful singers” for their voice literally captivates the audience.
Also, looking at the third house can determine your skill in singing. Having planets there DOES NOT mean you can sing; I have Mercury and Neptune there and I cannot sing to save my life. I hate my voice (Scorpio Rising thing?). Having planets there can determine how your voice sounds though, and if you are a singer, it can determine the type of voice you would output as a singer.
I would say the Moon is also important because it is the root of creativity; your emotions. Of course, unless you have no self-drive and just do what everyone else does, the moon will describe the type of emotions you may evoke in your music, as will planets in your fifth house. Paying attention to both of these can be helpful in determining such. My Moon is in Gemini, so often my emotions are constantly changing and they flip-flop, yet being in the 8th they are intensified to extremes, and this can be represented in my music if you are indulging in it lol.
I didn’t list this planet, but Mars can also be potentially helpful in determining the drive behind your creativity. I’ve been using music as an example, but remember that this goes for all art forms. My Mars sits in Scorpio, so often I am driven by powerful emotions invoked in music when I decide to create. Looking at this can help determine what makes you go on a creative spree lol.
Enjoy
