Yello. Just realized we don't have a thread on this. How do you see the part of fortune? How has it played out for you in real life? It's a calculated point, so I'm not sure if this should be in the asteroid section(?) On the other hand, it is a (sorta) basic chart element. Lemme know if you think I should move it.
For reference: The PoF is calculated as follows -
* For day charts (Sun in houses 7 through 12): Ascendant + Moon – Sun * For night charts (Sun in houses 1 through 6): Ascendant + Sun – Moon
PoF in the houses:

Mine is at 22-23° Gemini, trine Sun, Moon & Asc (purely because of math). It's in the 5th house, in almost all major house systems. (4th in some).
Draconic PoF on tropical Venus-Jupiter in Virgo. So, both are mercurial.. I haven't observed it in connection with events or transits. Should probably go back to old charts and check..
That advice sounds good.

Thank you. Mine's in Gemini in the 11th house conjunct Psyche, aspecting ASC, Mercury, Venus, Uranus. I did make money as a writing tutor and writer when I was younger. Didn't make a fortune that way but I must've charmed my husband (my POF sextile his sun) and as it turned out he was financially okay. 'Not sure if that's how it's supposed to go, though.
Pls don't quote

Oh, it could totally go that way.. I mean, there's no wrong answer. One of the websites up there made a good point - it shows up in a unique way for everybody. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Jerry Seinfeld has PoF in Gemini conjunct Jupiter in the 2nd house. (I have a separate set of data for comedians that I plan to post later, but I thought this was worth mentioning).
Ted Bundy: Pof in Leo conjunct Saturn in the 12th, sextile Neptune. Rihanna & Kim K: PoF in Taurus (2H and 5H respectively). They both made their fortune in the beauty industry, in different ways. Pamela Anderson: PoF in Virgo 4H, trine NN if that counts. Could this be a reference to her being on "Home Improvement"? ***Sorry this list is random, might organize and add more later.***

PoF in Scorpio:
Tom Cruise: PoF in the 1st. Now, this is a can of worms...
Jay Z: PoF in the 3rd, conj Neptune & Venus (a bit wide, but still). Didn't he shoot his brother or something?
Mozart: 2H PoF trine 10H Mars in Cancer
Carl Jung: Of-freakin-course... Pof in the 9th. Neatly opposing a 3H Taurus Moon.
Adriana Lima: PoF Conj. Moon in the 8th. In addition to being a VS model, she's also a boxer (AFAIR).
Malala Yousafzai: PoF in the 3rd trine 11h Sun. Literally a (very public) life-or-death situation involving education.

Thank you 12YearsABlob , and thanks for the research and laughs ^^ I don't know why it cracks me up that Tom Cruise has Scorpio POF in the first. My husband's POF in Taurus and he's pretty earthy, spent a lot of time mountain climbing for example; he likes actual, tangible THINGS. My POF conjunct Psyche, his draco POF conjunct tropical Psyche in Virgo, so we match, plus we both have POF sextile ASC natally so that's in the composite. Comp POF on my SN/his Juno in Taurus. Well we had our own forest, natural beauty was our fortune for a while. Progressed composite POF moves around fast because of the progressed comp moon moving fast. We got married with pr comp POF conjunct NN in Scorpio. Pls don't quote

That's so cool, and it fits the symbolism beautifully!

Thank you again. Well I thought about it more and realized my daughter's moon-NN is conjunct my POF, and she is a source of my happiness...as I've said, I was ecstatic when she was born because I had believed I would only have boys, and it seemed too lucky for me to have a daughter...
Her POF conjunct 7H Mars in Libra which is her chart ruler. She doesn't want to make a living as an artist of any sort, but she's definitely skilled enough to be competitive in that field, I believe.

Well, whether or not she makes a career out of it, it's still a great skill to have in your back-pocket!

this is an interesting site too marianneohagan.com/partoffortune.htmlther eis of course always the debate about if we take day and night births into account or if we use the same calculation. I honestly have no clue what is right. According to this stie my POF is at 28 Cap (but I think if we take the night births into account it would be 15 LIbra, however it may be, one of these is my part of fortune and the other my part of spirit). the descriptions both fit me (Not completely but to a degree that actuall surprised me, did not expect that).

well I guess in my case - applying the night formula as I was born about an hour before sunrise- my POF is on 15 Libra, and the Part of Spirit on 28 Cap.

Okay, so -- this site shows the part of spirit formula as "Asc + Moon - Sun", which is the same of PoF on the other site..? What do you use for part of spirit (and what exactly is that)..?

Me too! This was so good. I like when they tie in the developmental significance of an aspect/point. Makes sense to me, for both tropical and draconic positions.

Thanks for the link, lumina . 'Mentioned my daughter above. I have the asteroid 19 Fortuna in Leo, trine my Jupiter (on daughter's ASC), conjunct her Jupiter. POF: POF in Gemini conjunct my ice queen grandmother's sun-Pluto. Well, I do trace some feelings of non-belonging to her. It's like her message to me was "You are invisible." For all I could tell, she did not know my name. My father described her (his mother) to me as "a puff of smoke." I guess she was invisible, too. I know her father sent her away to boarding school when she was young and she seems to have never forgiven him. He's a Scorpio sun + stellium. So there's a Plutonian theme coming down the line here. Anyway it's Gemini, so there are two sides. For me there was the precocious, sort of arrogant twin (my POF trine Aqua Mercury, I was head of my class and wanted to skip grades and resented everyone holding me back), and the ground-zero, no self-esteem whatsoever twin. I basically just wanted to invisibly sail through school without having to talk to anyone. I had social problems because I felt like I was not like the other kids. I wasn't. That all sounds about right, though I never fear appearing stupid, I'm socially okay with having mental limitations. I'm curious enough to ask questions even if that reveals ignorance. I just need to know the information. People have clobbered me for this before. Well if I try and probe into a subject, and a person gets defensive or exasperated with me for not knowing it to begin with, or not picking it up fast enough....not sure what kind of reaction they *thought* they would get from me, but what I do is walk away. F you, I'll learn it myself. As for family, I have POF quincunx Cap DNA. It's not that I had no sense of belonging within my family but usually the pecking order felt like an iron wall when it came to self-assertion. I knew my voice barely counted. In my family, actions spoke more than words (I'm old enough that the maxim "Children are meant to be seen and not heard" was still in effect.) We were expected to develop our talents and work towards excellence on our own; everyone had to have a hobby. Excel with that and win praise. Fail and get scolded. I don't remember much nuance or psychoanalysis in the family dynamic. Come to think of it most of my happiest family memories revolve around games and travel. Times when the family was playing cards together in our camper in some other state, that was heaven. (POF opp Sag Venus -- that axis.) But often I was happiest alone, lost in my own world. Sorry this was long, pls don't quote

Thank you for all the details -- it's weird how closely some of it matches that description! Not quoting the parts in case you want to erase later, but I like point-by-point explanations.
And I don't get people who scoff at curiosity. Equating lack of information with lack of intelligence is in itself 'stupid', if we can use the word. Besides, is "intelligence" a measure of how much respect they're going to give a person? That's messed up..

I can't remember which one is correct: around 6-8 degrees Sagittarius (I think, which would also be my anti-vertex), or 26*Virgo... it's been a while, but those are what I remember. I didn't sleep well, so I'll have to check things later.
