Pardon me if you don't like Russell Brand, but here's a short video where he's talking about Sisyphus:
That just came out today so I decided to check where Sisyphus is transiting..it's @ 28 Cancer Rx, conjunct the MC in my location at noon today. Mercury @ 25 Cancer. These two will be exactly conjunct @ 28 Cancer in a few days.
Brand has this asteroid @ 25 Taurus, trine his ASC @ 26 Cap (not sure how reliable his birth time is, though...12 am, really?). And it's sextile his Venus @ 27 Cancer.
It's interesting because he talks about how his desires control him, and he has to constantly work to keep that in check. Taurus Sisyphus sextile Venus, hmm.
Anyway....
I have Sisyphus @ 12 Virgo, squaring Neptune.
This lines up with the fact that I like daydreaming and being creative in my mind, but for the most part I have disliked having to do anything productive with it. I don't like the Virgo-type stress and nitpickiness involved, because for me, there is no end to it. I mean I drew a lotus with ink, and I was coloring it over and over for hours and could probably still be working color into it, except I removed the page from my arm's reach here.

Ooh I get so excited when there's a post on a new asteroid! How interesting, I am sort of the same Ava when it comes to bringing my daydreams to the fore. Mine at 17 Libra sextiles Mars and wiiidely squares ASC. It's also rx. I'm not actually sure as to how to interpret those aspects though. I don't even know if the ASC one should count- its a 4d orb and separating. To Mars, well its a flowing aspect. Mars is in my 2H, Sisyphus sits in my 4H. I have just noticed those two (Mars and Sisyphus) make a yod with Saturn in 10H conj. MC.

I have just noticed those two (Mars and Sisyphus) make a yod with Saturn in 10H conj. MC. Perhaps Sisyphus helps you endure whatever tedium is involved in your work life? Like you know some drudgery is unavoidable, so you can just accept that and advance? It reminds me of this quote: Not sure if that applies or not, but it's what came to mind. I think it might apply with Sisyphus in general. The things we have to do that feel futile and neverending, but are part of a larger process.

I would expect Sisy to be aligned to my academic pursuits - hard and never-ending, but I seem to forget the pain rather quickly and return to pushing the boulder up the hill. Let's see...
Not really. While it is in the 3rd house and 2 degrees away from Mercury/Archimedes, it doesn't aspect any other academic asteroid. 2 degrees is too wide for asteroids.
I agree that Sisyphus could signify a burden one bears rather than something that is just effortful

@astrokeen
I think those wide-orb conjunctions are still meaningful, as transits through their midpoint will aspect both planets/asteroids at once.
So for example if you have 5261 Eureka passing through the Sisyphus-Mercury midpoint, it could be a case where the discovery was hard-won because of all the tedium involved (analyzing statistic graphs, or whatever feels tedious). Or whatever interpretation feels applicable ~ I try and think of asteroids creatively.

AvaI think you might be on to something there! I wish I really was immune to boredom though. Luckily my job isn't boring per se, there's just a lot to do in a short space of time so it can feel a bit heavy at times but I've always said, no job is going to be perfect.
