I've been reading about the Root Chakra, Muladhara: In Vedic astrology these four aims correspond to the four elements and their associated houses: Simple & informative video:

I haven't read enough to even pretend to have an educated opinion, but I've heard that one cannot heal any of their chakras until the root chakra is healed. This woman's vitality is my current life goal, and I think it's amazing how much free content she uploads to YouTube: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8gJ98wxo-P4xXd5lltnm64V4Q5HVf9i9=== I have the asteroid 1387 Kama tightly conjunct my sun, quincunx out-of-bounds Mars in my 11th house (a Kama house). 15.47 Cap sun 16.00 Cap Kama 16.01 Aries Jupiter 16.01 Gem Mars I can see how my physicality roots me in some ways, while excesses have uprooted me, like I've sacrificed other aims of life, in the pursuit of physical pleasure. Well I like this "Four Aims of Life" system as a kind of handy checklist. Presumably, if I try and advance in all four areas, the root will be healed, and the other chakras now have more potential to be healed.

I like the notion of balanced growth that the chakras represent encompassing all three realms - physical, mental, spiritual. All of these are essential or the growth pattern is incomplete. Like Maslow's pyramid, the lower chakras represent the essential initial phases of development, upon which the development represented by the higher chakras must be based.

Ah, thanks very much for making that connection for us, Astrokeen. I encountered that concept a while back, thought it sounded true, but never committed the basic structure to memory....though it's rather simple: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow's_hierarchy_of_needs
