I think event-composites (composite of a natal and a transit-chart) are important and very descriptive of events as well as the athmosphere of a day for us.
cochrane elaborates on that as well
The reason for this is I think, that there is a mirroring of the transits to the natals, creating a resonance.
For example:
at the current time (albeit separating by now) my eventcomposites have Jupiter conjunct Uranus.
For the last time P and me communicated in my eventcomposite this occured as
Jupiter 1°55 Aquarius Uranus 0°43 Aquarius
well I am using 1 degree orbs, but this here had just been out of orb, so I will take it as an example nevertheless.
if we go back into the transit chart of that moment we see
Tr Jupiter 22 Sag Tr Uranus 00 Taurus
the angular distance between them is 128°
In my natal I have
Uranus 01 Scorpio Jupiter 11 Pisces
the angular distance between them is 130°
As you can see the angular distance is nearly the same, the fact that is is 2 degrees off, means that the orb in the composite is 1 degree.
But basically this means that the transits in the sky mirrored or mirror my personal "aspect" or at least angular distance between Jupiter and Uranus. Possibly it would be even stronger if it was an actual aspect.
But since the transits have the same Jupiter-Uranus-angle as my natal has, AND because it is in different phases (in the transits the Jupiter comes first, and in my natal Uranus comes first), it results in a conjunction (or opposition) in the composite between my natal and transit chart.
So if we detect a conjunction or opposition at partile degrees in our event-composites it simply means that the transits mirror our natal connection between the same two planets and therefore creating a resonance.
While Cochrane did not mention this, this works in synastry as well.
For example in my EVC Jupiter is on 1 Aquarius
In P`s EVC Venus is on 1 Aquarius
What that means is that the transiting angle between Venus and Jupiter replicates/ mirrors our SYNASTRIC angle between his Venus and my Jupiter.
In this instance it was pretty exact, so
Tr Venus - Jupiter: 44°46 degrees his Venus - my Jupiter: 44°43 degrees
so in this instance the mundane/ daily transits showed a semisquare bewteen Venus and Jupiter, and our synastry also have a semisquare between Venus and Jupiter, hence the conjunction between our EVC`s.
I`ve been observing these for the last year, EVC to EVC, which at first seemed crazy, but at partile degrees they seem to very clearly depict either certain events or at least the atmosphere. Maybe that is the reason, that the synastric aspect is being pulled into the "spotlight" by being reflected by the transit-chart.
Well this day and occasion had been a bit more multilayered, as we had several partile conjunctions and oppositions between our Event charts like:
his Sun conjunct my Sun (which it always is, as our Suns are natally just one degree apart) his Mercury conjunct my Pholus his Venus conjunct my Jupiter his Saturn conjunct my ASC (very specific for a certain moment in the communication) his Uranus conjunct my Mercury his Pholus conjunct my Mercury his Juno conjunct my Vertex (also very moment-specific) (his Vertex opposite my Sun, just separating, but still opposing his own Sun)
Actually those are quite a lot of alignments, there are days there would not even be one partile occurrence.
BTW in the synastry his Mercury is in a wide square to my Pholus from 9 Sag - 6 Pisces, and his Pholus is squaring my Mercury widely from 23 Pisces - 26 Sag.
his Saturn is in 9th harmonic aspect to my ASC (exact binovile).
his Uranus is not in a known aspect, it is around 32 degrees from my Mercury. But the transiting angle between Uranus and mercury must have been around 32 degrees that day, too.
Just wanting to explain why I pay so much attention to these charts, as they have a high descriptive and even predictive value (when his EVC Mars was conjunct my EVC Venus and my EVC Pluto was conjunct his EVC Venus exact - yeah, same day. lol, we surprisingly bumped into each other. At the exact moment that happened my EVC Venus and his EVC Mars were exact conjunct my EVC ASC, and his EVC Sun and my EVC Sun and to a degree EVC Mercury were exact on his EVC MC, albeit he also had EVC Chiron on his EVC IC, it was certainly a chironic moment/ event, in Chiron`s quality as "bridging spheres", from the personal to the collective, or in that instance the other way round I guess; well there were some more alignments but those were the ones that became angular the exact moment we met).

So simple and yet I didn't know...thanks very much for pointing this out. Interesting how all synastry aspects between personal planets can become conjunctions between EVCs, and we could even know the timing for that in advance if we were ambitious. I mean if you really want to experience your EVC Venus conjunct a guy's EVC Mars, figure out the angle between your Venus and his Mars, check to see when that will happen in transits, work with that information as you like. Then it's interesting to look at EVCs in retrospect, notice conjunctions between two charts for special incidents, and see which synastry aspect(s) were most pronounced. I wonder how obvious this would be. I mean obviously if there's a Venus square Pluto transit in the sky, everyone will feel that, especially people with Venus square Pluto synastry. But with something more subtle like a non-aspect between gentler planets, my moon 38° from someone's Mercury, would an emotional conversation between us be more likely, when transiting moon and Mercury are 38° apart? Hmm

Ava yes, sometimes I need to remind myself about this, what the underlying reason for the composite alignment is, though I was not aware that it really fits in synastry, too, but it makes sense. And yes if we were that ambitious..... LOL Last year it just happened in P`s and my case by sheer coincidence. I am wondering, too, if there is a difference if the underlying synastric aspect is a real aspect, or if there is "just" the same angular distance. And will the composite alignment also subtly vibrate with the underlying aspect? (like for P and me last week it was "triggering" the semisquare between his Venus and my Jupiter). Or doesn`t it matter all that much? and it is mainly about that there IS a resonance? However I DO think that, yes in your example it would heighten the chance of emotional conversation happening. In the case of me meeting A, his EVC Venus was exact conjunct my EVC Mars, so that means that in the transits there must have been the same angular distance as between his natal Venus and my natal Mars, though there is no major aspect between his Venus (15 Pisces) and my Mars (5 Sag). But well I guess it did fit. At least there was some sort of "event". Funny enough I was just considering if I might go for a backstage tour either on 23rd march or 30th march (and well if I do, would probably stay for the matinee-show to reduced prices. ), if I were to do that (well probably not, but just playing with thoughts), I saw that for the earlier date his EVC Mars 00°32 Gemini my EVC Pluto 00°59 Sag (we will also both have a VEnus-Uranus-conjunction in our respective EVC and in my case, Jupiter is part of it, too, though as far as I think they won`t connect to each other, but since we both have it, if I were to take our composite and make an EVC with that date, the Venus-Uranus-alignment would show up again; actually it would be Mercury 16 Aqua, VEnus 18 Aqua, Uranus 18 Aqua - I used planetdance for that). But anyway Mars-Pluto, it just struck me cause in our synastry his Mars is trine my Pluto with an orb of about 3 degrees, and that shows up int he transits as well with Pluto on 22 Cap and Mars on 24 Taurus that day. Just made me almost laugh as we talked about Mars-Pluto-trines just yesterday. lol The week after I did not see anything like that, so if I choose to go back again, I probably should do it on the earlier date. lol But then again I guess I wouldn`t be able to explain that to anyone, going there again, and maybe at one point there needs to be a break and that point could be now. lol

Actually on 23rd march:
my EVC: ---------
Venus conjunct Uranus 0°00 (both on 1°06 Aquarius) Venus sextile Pluto 0°07 s Uranus sextile Pluto 0°07 s
Mars square Pluto 0°57a (00 Pisces - 00 Sag)
A`s EVC -------
Mercury square Chiron 0°01 a
Venus conjunct Uranus 0°45 a (5-6 Pisces)
Mars sesisquare Jupiter 0°05 s
Jupiter trine Neptune 0°47 s
and the EVC-synastry ---------------------
my Pluto opposite his Mars 0°30 s my Mars square his Mars 0°27 my Venus trine his Mars 0°37 s my Uranus trine his Mars 0°37 a
Well I think the "pattern" is quite evident. lol

Hi lumina, "In the case of me meeting A, his EVC Venus was exact conjunct my EVC Mars, so that means that in the transits there must have been the same angular distance as between his natal Venus and my natal Mars, though there is no major aspect between his Venus (15 Pisces) and my Mars (5 Sag). But well I guess it did fit. At least there was some sort of "event"." That is crazy. Well this looks like a great timing-tool. We've been using them for a while, but this knowledge enables us to predict when synastry conjunctions will form through the EVCs. But then again, it never works when both planets are the same...sun trine sun will always be sun trine sun in EVCs. I can't get planetdance on this netbook so I'm a little confused about composite EVCs; I guess they are just like "Marks Charts"...taking the Davison and making a new Davison between that and one's natal, OR the current transits. "But anyway Mars-Pluto, it just struck me cause in our synastry his Mars is trine my Pluto with an orb of about 3 degrees, and that shows up int he transits as well with Pluto on 22 Cap and Mars on 24 Taurus that day. Just made me almost laugh as we talked about Mars-Pluto-trines just yesterday. lol" That is funny! Well if you are going to be taking interest in someone other than P or Jude then it might as well be someone with whom you share Mars-Pluto. No sense doing anything by halves.

Ava "That is crazy. " Yes. And fitting. I was Mars, he was Venus in that EVC-conjunction. I was of course the one basically deciding that this was to be the evening to meet in person and even when I was being there, and he came out, he seemed, well, to be honest he seemed like he was waiting for me to approach him or something, like he didn`t quite know what to do, or where to turn, but at the same time couldn`t fully turn his back on me either (I was not the only one standing there of course). It was when I called his name that he was instantly focusing his attention on me, and with that I mean he REALLY focused his attention on me, to the point that I think I had to leave after a short time because I was getting a little overwhelmed with that, that was really all I had the strength to do. And again it was me deciding when it was time to finish the chat and leave. (of course I didn`t want to "outstay my welcome" either. lol) Hmm, of course when I met P last year, I was being VEnus and he was Mars, but I was approaching him to say "Hello", so quite an active thing. On the other hand it was him who decided I was to stay for a while. lol In that instance he was taking the initiative I think. I had just wanting to say Hello or actually I had just not wanted to pass him and pretend I didn`t know him and making things all weird between us again. lol It was more about preventing worse things from happening, I certainly had no intention beyond that. "But then again, it never works when both planets are the same...sun trine sun will always be sun trine sun in EVCs. " Yes, I was wondering if that makes those same planets aspects "special" somehow, maybe not stronger, but it`s jsut very consistent of course. I do pay attention however if another planet joins them in the EVC. Like for example with A, our Marses will always be square in the eVC-synastry (because in natal synastry they are opposite), here in this instance my EVC Pluto joins the fun. lol In P`s and my case for Adventureland in may, well our Jupiters are always square (they are opposite each other synastrically), but on that day my Uranus and his Mars join in. Actually I think that is such a fitting thing to have for a concert with the title "Adventureland" my Uranus 2 Leo his Mars 1 Leo my Jupiter 2 Aquarius his Jupiter 1 scorpio (on my natal Uranus btw. ROFL) if something spells adventure, then it would be a combination of Mars, Jupiter and Uranus (and actually Sun could be part of it too. lol) But our Suns are going to hang around each other in Pisces. (4-5 degrees approximately) along with his EVC Venus there. "I can't get planetdance on this netbook so I'm a little confused about composite EVCs; I guess they are just like "Marks Charts"...taking the Davison and making a new Davison between that and one's natal, OR the current transits. " One could get the idea, but it is not QUITE like that. In the marks chart you use one natal chart twice, as it is already part of the composite of course and then you add it another time. However in this instance, it is the two natals as a composite, combined with the transit/ event chart, indicating what they might experience together as a unit. It is all about resonances again. If the Venus-Uranus-resonance in the transits is the same as my own and his own, then our together-chart (the composite) must show that resonance with the transit chart as well. ACtually I had not been quite awere of that , but that Venus-Uranus is actually even more amazing or intriguing than I thought! Tr Venus 26 Aquarius Tr Uranus 00 Taurus angular distance: 64 degrees (a sextile with 4 degree orb) my natal resonance Tr Uranus 01 Scorpio Tr Venus 06 Capricorn angular distance: 65 degrees A`s natal resonance Uranus 12 Cap Venus 15 Pisces angular distance: 63 degrees We basicically have the SAME Venus-Uranus-angle in our chart! This means there is a Venus-Uranus-resonance between us (albeit who cares about a 4 degree sextile?) composite Uranus 6 Sagittarius Venus 10 Aquarius angular distance: 64 degrees And as I said in terms of the natals if a) the angular distance between the same planets (Venus-Uranus) is in the same in the transits AND the natal AND if b) the order of the planets is reversed (in the transit the Venus comes first) - then in the composite of transits and natal there must be a conjunction or opposition (if the order is the same, the same aspect is being repeated). If the orbs are the same the conjunction/ opposition in the EVC is partile. But this is the same for the composite (which actually already is just a summary of the resonance in the natal charts. lol because we have it in our natals, it does come up in the composite like that). so in the EVC of the transits for that day and our composite we find Venus 18 Aquarius Uranus 18 Aquarius just for reasons of completness: my EVC Venus 01 Aquarius Uranus 01 Aquarius his EVC Venus 5 Pisces Uranus 6 Pisces ------------------------------------------------------- NOw but look at this here, this time in relation to P! as you remember my Uranus 1 Scorpio my Venus 6 Cap distance: 65 degrees P`s Uranus 23 Scorpio P?s Venus 25 Capricorn angular distance: 62 degrees our composite Uranus 12 Scorpio Venus 16 Capricorn distance: 64 degrees (actually 63,5 degrees, but who`s counting? Now so the transiting VEnus-Uranus-angle being 64 degrees and his own 62 degrees, doesn`t that mean his EVC would ALSO have a conjunction of VEnus and Uranus on the same date A and me have? P`s EVC Venus 11 Aquarius Uranus 12 Aquarius (our Suns are at 14 Aqua, not that far off that day, but that would just clutter the issue here. lol) Actually that means that because we do have that natal resonance and the composite having the same aspect, and the transits replicating that aspect, that we too must have it in the EVC of our composite with the transits In our case it looks like that (EVC of composite with transit chart) Venus 6 Aquarius Uranus 6 Aquarius PHew, what do you say? (BTW P has some sort of resonance with his wife, too. but it is a bit lopsided as it is not the same aspect, whle he has the sextile, she has Venus trine Uranus, or actually Uranus trine Venus, as Uranus comes first for her too. A sextile and trine with planets in the same order, usually show up as square in the composite, and that is what happens with them, they have a partile Venus-Uranus-square of Uranus at 5 Sag to Venus at 6 Pisces, and yeah I notice Uranus is practically at the same spot as in m composite with A. lol) "That is funny! Well if you are going to be taking interest in someone other than P or Jude then it might as well be someone with whom you share Mars-Pluto. No sense doing anything by halves."Just saw the most adorable video of Jude. lol INterestingly, like A, Jude has a Sun-Pluto-square, Lancelot has Sun-Pluto-opposition, and P has Venus-Pluto-square like me. Maybe I like that.

Lots to say and think about re: your last post, but I wanted to clarify this. Not sure how we differ in our thinking here, except that I was referring to Davison and you refer to composite. Astro.com doesn't let me save a composite and make an EVC of it with transits, I can only do that with Davison.

Ava , yes, I know, but both, composite and Davison are relationship-charts. If I make a Marks-chart, it means I take the Davison chart and then make another Davison chart from the Davison-chart and one person`s natal: of course I can do the same wit the composite too. Taking the composite and make a composite with one of the natals. However if I do that, then I am going to use one natal chart TWICE for the calculation (as it is already used for the Davison or composite itself); I am doubtful of that method. In the case I described, you have three different sets of data: 1. natal A 2. natal B and 3. transits I think there is a difference there. Anyway for these here I am just talking about composites, because only there we can find the resonances (from natals, synastry and composites), Davison does not have these resonances, unless it is a coincidence. The reason for that is because for composites we use midpoints and for Davison we don`t, so the placements of the Davison basically do not have anything to do with the planets in either natal directly. (we use the midpoint in time of course between both birthdays, but that gives a real existing charts, which is simply the midpoint in time between two birthdays, but has nothing to do with the planetary aspects in the natals or in synastry). Unfortunately astro.com does not have the option of making composites of a composite with a transit chart. it is easy to see though in terms of conjunctions. If my EVC has a conjunction of Venus and Uranus at 10 Aquarius and someone elses EVC has a conjunction of Venus and Uranus at 20 Aquarius, then the EVC of the composite must have a conjunction of Venus and Uranus, too, in this instance at 15 AQuarius.

Coincidentally my husband and I have the same phase angle between Venus and Uranus, just about -- semisextiles:
7 Leo, his Uranus 6 Virgo, his Venus 6 Scorpio, my Uranus 6 Sag, my Venus
21 Virgo, composite Uranus 21 Libra, composite Venus
There was an eclipse about a week before we met: Mar 12, 1998 11:34 PM Sun 22 Pis 24 Opposition Moon 22 Vir 24(LE)
Full moon on our composite Uranus. Venus transiting @ 5.50 Aqua then, according to the ephemeris, applying to conjunction with Uranus @ 11.01 Aqua. So Venus in that eclipse chart hit both my and his natal Venus and Uranus.
Then Venus and Uranus were conjunct in Aquarius the day we met, @ 14° & 11° respectively.
But the transiting semisextile doesn't come up for any of our landmark times that first year.
Pls pardon all my Mercury-Rx edits.

Avainteresting that you have a Venus-Uranus-resonance with your husband, too, and you were getting married really quickly! And that eclipse on your composite Uranus. wow! and it put Sun in conjunction to your Moon, albeit not exactly. And all the other Venus-Uranus-things... "But the transiting semisextile doesn't come up for any of our landmark times that first year. " Well I think this resonance just shows that you have Venus-Uranus-conjunction in your EVC at the same day, but of course that does not necessarily mean that anything "happens", just that two people have their Venus-Uranus-day at the same time. For example obviously P and me are going to have our respective Venus-Uranus-day next saturday, but I don´t think it really means that much, considering we won`t be near each other. we might however make our own Venus-Uranus-experiences that day. Probably it would be more likely to indicate something happening between us, when there was any kind of exact aspects between the EVC`s. At least so far in terms of events which involved two people I have found those exact alignments between the charts.

Ava interesting that you have a Venus-Uranus-resonance with your husband, too, and you were getting married really quickly! LOL, yup... Though it was extreme in our case because my husband's pr DSC in Aqua conjunct my natal DSC in Aqua (I think) conjunct tr Aqua Uranus which aspected our Venuses and Uranuses at the time. Not everyone with Venus-Uranus resonance has to wonder about instant engagement. My EVC with our first date has the sun @ 8 Sag conjunct my Venus (trine his sun), and he asked me to marry him the next day with my EVC sun on natal Venus-Neptune midpoint. Ha, my weak spot. His EVC sun @ 20 Virgo on our first date, another weak spot, lol...well it is conjunct my Juno and opposes my natal moon. "so in the EVC of the transits for that day and our composite we find" I get lost and can't figure out what day you are referring to -- Adventureland?

21.20 Scorpio, composite Neptune with my husband 21.35 Scorpio, my natal Venus-Uranus midpoint > very close to my NN @ 20.00 Scorpio
Also the orb for my Venus-Uranus semisextile is nothing. 0°00
Just wanted to explain there are extra reasons for my strange life.

Yours is really a very intense case of Venus-Uranus for sure. Funny enough at the moment I am having pr Venus trine natal and pr Uranus. Just a trine but thought it was intriguing nevertheless. and from june-september Tr Uranus will be trine my natal Venus - the transit will be so long as Tr Uranus will get stationary and turning retrograde, just a couple of minutes off the exact trine to my Venus. Actually the precise hit will be on 8th july and 16th september. Of ocurse it is "just" a trine, but nevertheless I think it looks sort of "nice". Definitely niceer than some of the other transits this year. lol "Not everyone with Venus-Uranus resonance has to wonder about instant engagement. " LOL I am relieved. BTW I first met P when his pr Venus was trine my Uranus and then a few years later my pr Venus moved into square his Uranus. "My EVC with our first date has the sun @ 8 Sag conjunct my Venus (trine his sun)" That is very interesting! ", and he asked me to marry him the next day with my EVC sun on natal Venus-Neptune midpoint. Ha, my weak spot. His EVC sun @ 20 Virgo on our first date, another weak spot, lol...well it is conjunct my Juno and opposes my natal moon. " LOL You had no choice. "I get lost and can't figure out what day you are referring to -- Adventureland?" I do not remember either, but chances are I was talking about next saturday and the EVC with the double or triple or quadruple Venus-Uranus conjunctions in the EVC`s.

Wow, that is really close!
Well my Venus/Uranus-mp is at 3°45 Sag, nothing of interest really.
P`s Venus/Uranus-mp is at 24°40 Sag, conjunct my Mercury (0°22) and my Sun (1°16). our composite Venus/Uranus-mp is at 14°12 Sag conjunct composite Neptune by one degree exactly.
