Didn't RunAroundScreaming from LL coin that term? I really thought she did...I even asked her, and she confirmed it, years later. I just watched a video where Jewel Mayberry refers to "the love stellium." So it's considered a real thing now, apparently? The love stellium is sun-Mercury-Venus all conjunct in the composite chart. Any experiences with it....does it really live up to its title? Thanks

I've got this, loosely, in my composite with David.
Honestly, though, I can feel it. There are problems in our relationship and we're very different people with very different paths in life, BUT -- I have never felt such unquestionable tenderness with someone. Like, when we're relaxed together (Saturn squares make that not a frequent occurrence) I'm just like, "ohhhhh, this is what unconditional love feels like. I always wondered."
For those not following my earlier posts, I guess you could call me and David romantic friends? Not lovers, probably never will be, but kind of in love.

I don't use mir Like the Term Love stellium, IT leads to unrealistic expectations. Also it's notca necessary ingredient for Love. You can completely Love someone without IT.
However IT does Seem to describe beautiful Tender affectionate Feelings and communication between two people.
However without strong aspects of moon and Mars in the composite, IT IS more indicative of a romantic affectionate friendship, But will Lack a certain deep primal Bond of intimacy and to Put IT bluntly, Sex. You really want some nice Things going on with Mars, If You don't want a relationship to Turn celibate.

I had a love stellium with a guy I dated many years ago. Sun-Moon-Mercury-Venus all in Leo. We had crazy chemistry. But we never got past the romance stage unfortunately. It is nice to be honest. But I know couples who been together for ages with no love stellium.

I have this composite stellium with 4 people( both my parents although the venus is a bit wide in one of the composites, my son, and another person), I would say I have had a great relationship with all of them, from what i can remember of my relationship with my mother. There is this caring aspect and a feeling that you just understand the other.
The "another" person I have this with, it was squaring uranus, though the moon and mars was in that stellium too(moon a little wide), plus we had some intense synastry venus/mars sun/moon, saturn venus/mars, venus/uranus. There was alot of romantic potential and i had deep feelings for that person but it never got off the ground.
So I think the "love" stellium is more of a caring, i understand you and care deeply kind of a love aspect not an "i love you want to marry you kind of love", i think more needs to be considered for that.
pls dnt quote

Well, in my experience, yes, this one's nice to have. But it does not necessarily point to romantic love per se (or even attraction for that matter). It does however, show goodwill and an ability to think and funciton well together (barring mars-pluto afflictions). You have a sense of camaraderie and they don't rub you the wrong way. Spending time with each other is easy.
That may not sound like a big deal, but - hey, have you ever spent time with someone you absolutely couldn't stand?
For a love stellium, I'd like to see nice Moon/Mars in the mix. Sun-Merc-Venus seems to be missing a leg. An irrational, volatile one that runs on pure instinct (moon, mars, take your pick). Sun/Moon aspects in the composite always come through pretty strongly for me.
The thing is, I don't often notice this one (sun-merc-venus) by itself. I dunno if it's my natal, or a function of our synastry, but other stelliums (stellia?) make themselves known more loudly.
For instance, in a composite with a friend, I have a Venus/Mars/Jupiter stellium (maybe the moon too, but I forget). The first impression people have of us is the "fun couple". My roommate said that she was glad we didn't live together, coz we'd never get any work done. We're just a clown circus, all the freakin' time.
So - maybe the Sun-Merc-Venus stellium would be more prominent for certain kinds of natal charts?

^^ I second this I absolutely hate moon square sun in composite as well as square to mars I have severely disliked 2 individuals with joon I had the so-called love stellium. So I don’t buy into it any more I really like venus-mars conjunction, as well as venus-mars-pluto-node conjunction, moon-sun conjunction, sun Jupiter or moon trine Saturn
I really didn’t jive well with someone whom I have tight Saturn-north node. Nothing karmic there at all. So all these descriptions can be interpreted differently Pluto trine moon or venus is also nice

Oh, so that's what works for you? Interesting. I like the aspects you mentioned. Especially composite Sun-Moon. I'm a sucker for new moon/full moon composite/Davison. Wonder how much of this is mirrored by/coming from our natal charts...

^^ the only person I had a new moon composite with is another aqua with cap moon so I guess we have similar chart
I like sun-moon harmonious aspects like sextile, even by sign because my sun-moon are harmonious
But Jupiter to moon and sun just always add humor. Moon-Jupiter is a good aspect for children too. I did a chart for this couple and I saw moon jup conjunctions so I said y’all gonna have a kid and 5 days later the wife knew she was pregnant

hmm, I am weird, but I wouldn`t want to exchange the composite Moon-Mars-square and Venus-Pluto-square for anything. (though it is nice to have some more stable aspects in it as well. )

Would anyone count a 5deg semisextile as part of this? I know RAS from LL counted semisextiles as part of the stellium and I am currently looking at one where Venus is at 15deg Aries and Sun at 20deg Taurus. I know its wide, but there is Sun conj. Moon with Jupiter opposing and Moon conj. Mercury. So I don't know whether to look at this in terms of that stellium or not, really.
Also, Mars is conjunct NN in this composite.

Would anyone count a 5deg semisextile as part of this? I know RAS from LL counted semisextiles as part of the stellium According to these folks... www.astrotheme.com/astrology_aspects.php...the orb for semisextile is 1.5°. And a stellium is a string of conjunctions, so any other aspect doesn't apply.

It also appears in that thread that oppositions are counted. I always assumed this love stellium just needed to include sun-venus-mercury in some way but I guess this is just stuff surmised from a board.

The opposition makes sense in a composite as midpoints are always on an axis, so there are actually two midpoints. So if the Sun in a composite is at 5 Aquarius, it means that the midpoint between the two natal Suns is at 5 aquarius, however there is another midpoint between the two natal Suns and that is at 5 Leo, hence oppositions do make sense (we are just using the nearer midpoint for constructing composites, that seems to make sense if the births are close to each other, but if the Suns were close to opposite each other in natals, then it starts making less and less sense to differentiate between near and far, as the difference might be just a few minutes.
For example P and me have opposing Jupiters, his at 10 Virgo, mine at 11 Pisces. the nearer midpoint is at 11 Gemini, and that is what the composite Jupiter is, but of course the Jupiter is also non 11 Sagittarius, as the far midpoint between both Jupiters, however the difference is just one degree in our case. The distance from my Jupiter via Gemini to his Jupiter is shorter, so that is where astro.com puts Jupiter, but the distance is just about 1 degree shorter than the other way round.).
Anyway that is the reason why the opposition is a special case in composites, but that is not the case for the semisextile. Semisextiles are no conjunctions. A stellium is defined as planets conjunct each other within some degrees in the same sign or house.
The other thing is if other aspects might be leading to similiar results (whatever the result of a love stellium really is, cause it is not in all cases what people sometimes say it is), even in that case I would be highly doubtful about the semisextile, and definitely not with that large orb. there might be of course a midpoint configuration happening.

lumina In that case the house system would not be correct since it could’ve been Sag it gem, aqua or Leo, 11th of 5th. I’m gonna reconsider using composite charts...

@theunknown
composite charts are correct (though we could debate if using signs and houses are even valid in composite charts, though I think they are), we just have to keep in the back of our mind that they are not natal charts with individual positions for the planets, but midpoint-charts, and these are always on an axis, so what we really have is the emphasis on an axis and the themes coming with them, not a point. So our Jupiter for instance is on the 5th-11th house axis, not in 5th OR 11th house. But it actually doesn`t really matter, as the the houseaxis are just two ends of an axis dealing with one theme, in this instance self-expression, the only difference is being expressive just for oneself or with others. But it is not really a huge difference.
But keeping the calculation in mind, it is up to us to decide how to treat composite charts, some will simply focus on the near midpoint (which sometimes gets hairy if there are exact oppositions between same planets).
Or staying true to the underlying calculation treat them as what they really are, midpoint charts, which have a huge value however, in pointing out themes between people.
The composite is actually a pretty neat tool to trace the basic shared themes in a synastry or natal comparison.

Ok, so, the composite I am thinking of has Sun-Moon-Mercury opposite Jupiter, so I guess this is part of that stellium then? I understand what you are saying lumina , it makes sense, I just got into a habit of reading composites one way and now I perhaps need to rethink. Also, that opposition to Jupiter reflects a double whammy in synastry so I have already picked out a running theme, as you say, between these people. To clarify, I never read them too far from what was being said before but I sort of took whatever was said on LL and went with it because what the heck do I know. I was under the impression orbs were treated differently, however upon reflection, its perhaps reasonable to think that some members in the past were really trying to prove a certain point or theory, hence wider orbs, or extra aspects or whatever.
