yes they`ve been very turbulent in the beginning, but it all calmed down.
As for a Moon-Venus square to the nodal axis ---- well Basil Fearington, Noel Tyl and some others do not seem to see a difference between the aspects, they are mainly concerned that it is a strong aspect (conjunction, opposition, square) and that it is in tight orb (3 degrees), and what the aspects make is a connection, a very profound connection.
Fearrington interpretes Moon and Venus aspecting the nodes like this "The bond is the strongest when the Nodal contact involves Lights or Angles. In these cases, we are apt to see the instances of, “It feels like I have known you forever”in a very short time after meeting. ... When the tie-in is with Venus, there is a natural romanticism between the two people. " (Basil FEarrington, Common sense synastry, p.104)
While I agree that it does not really matter in terms of IF there is a connection (yes, there would be with these aspects), I do think there is a difference between the aspects.
But it is pretty much the opposite to "ships passing by each other in the night" - if you pass each other by, it is a decision you make to NOT go there, but it is not a sign of "no-relating" at all.
With the squares to Moon and Venus there might be a literally compulsive force/ push/ need/ urge to connect to each other, (I am not yet quite sure who feels it the strongest, but I am inclined to say the one with the nodal axis triggering, because of what the nodes represent, an intimate combination of Sun, Moon, Earth - our core life energies).
And that connection would be emotional and romantic, there would at least be this impulse. however "compulsive need to connect" does not say it will be a happy one or one that leads to a stable relationship, or even an emotionally fulfilling relationship. All that it sais is that there is a connection that MUST happen.
I believe there are 3 things that indicate how that will play out, well there are probably more things, but those were the main 3 I was thinking of instantly
a) the natal charts - How are both of you interactin/ dealing with that Moon-Venus and also the nodal degrees? and more so actually, much more basic, how compatibile are your relationship and sexual and mental needs and values in general?
Two deeply incompatible people (one having Uranian, the other Saturnian relationship-needs and values for example) could have that Moon-Venus to nodal axis, and while it still would generate that deeply compulsive emotional attraction between them, it probably would make them also deeply unhappy, because neither would feel fulfilled and nurtured by their partner.
b) the way the Moon-Venus-Nodes are integrated in the synastry, the other planets aspecting those. Moon-Venus trine the other person`s Sun and conjunct their Mars - NICE, give me some of that!
Moon-Venus square the other person Saturn, conjunct their Uranus-Neptune - uoh, you can probably keep that to yourself. would make for a great learning experience, but hardly feel comfortable.
NO aspects to Moon-Venus-Node: this is probably the one condition I would fear the most. There we have the compelling need to be together, to do something together, but no way to really channel it somehow. There are all those feelings lying around, but what do you do with those? How do you get the energy flowing? (without aspects chances are you don`t. You are just unhappy, cause you feel so much for the other person, and you think you would be perfect, if only.... just that if never will happen - unless you are really lucky with progressions and composite chart. Personally I wouldn´t consider a planet in synastry unaspected, if a composite planet was conjunct it).
c) I also think, but I may be wrong about this, that with squares to the nodal axis, you can feel that extreme strong pull, because there is something you have to do, accomplish, repeat, perfect, complete, finish up, polish,d evelop, evolve (you get the meaning. ), but if there are no conjunctions to the nodal axis, then very often it can lead to a complete fizzling out and fading away, once the lesson has been learned, the project has been completed so to speak (though depending on what the project is, it could take a life time of course).
Honestly speaking however I would pay more attention to the composite chart in this regard. Esp. if you want to know not only about the attraction of two individiuals to each other, but how those two individuals mesh their energies together once they are in physical proximiity. And yes, that is enough. Physical proximity, or let`s say the awareness of each other. I can attest to that, the composite is very much in play for both of you the moment both are aware of each other. But I have also noticed, that there seems to be an increase in energy, like the volume is pulled up louder somehow, once you really are in physical proximity, eyecontact, touching, talking to each other, that kind of thing.
Something then seems to shift in the energy or set a wheel spinning somehow.
I always was so intrigued by the fact, that I could stay in a distance from P, and things were relatively tame and calm, and I could analyze it all with some sort of detachment (well that was the past I guess. lol), I could even scratch my head and wonder: "Why am I even here?" (in the past. lol) but I was very centred, analytical, detached, pretty un-emotional as a matter of fact (though appreciative of course).
And then when he was sort of crossing an insivisble line, I think about 2-3 metres away (nowadays sometimes a look suffices btw, so maybe eyecontact is really all that is needed), and things change drastically. The energy becomes different, sort of like a swirling vortex, and most of the times he looks as shocked as I feel. lol
And gone is any kind of detached balanced analytical skills, and well at times I even seem to overreact, being a bit paranoid. But he has been at times that way, too. (He once complained to me and was pouting, because he obviously thought I was not thinking of him as "funny". I never even SAID this, I just had not praised his funny-ness enough, and had been a little too nonchalant, casual and ironical with him, and in my opinion he overreacted a little to that. I mean why would he even care if I found him funny or not? lol
Though this was an online-communication, so not even in physical proximity. Do live videos count as proximity? no of course they don´t. but anyway I disgress).
What happens I think is that the composite somehow takes over, more strongly in play, than when we were not aware of each other, or not in physical proximity.
And while our synastry is pretty harmonious and calm, for most parts, at least on an emotional level, the composite features two partile squares, one of Venus to Pluto, the other of Moon to Mars.
Pretty sure that is what is then steering us somehow.
Interestingly enough Moon and Venus are square to our nodal axis with Mars-Pluto conjunct the NN. lol
Actually Amor and Cupido and Camelot are ocnjunct our NN too.
Interestingly the conjunctions of Mars and Amor to the NN in composite are the result of having both Mars and Amor squaring each other`s nodal axis in synastry (in complementary aspect phases, one waxing, one waning, that is the reason for it becoming a conjunction in composite).
For whatever it`s worth, but we can`t get past this Mars somehow, I think. lol
Does not mean it`s easy or simply or uncomplicated. But what it certainly does is generate attention (even against wanting this).
