As far as I know, the Chinese Astrology signs line up with the Western so that Aries = Dragon Taurus = Snake Gemini = Horse ....and so on, in order. With every match-up there are some apparent incongruencies, they're not the same and not meant to be the same. But this match between Taurus and Snake is very striking and interesting: Yes, both are discriminating and have finely tuned senses; both like beautiful fabrics, lovely items. But the Snake's perception level is elevated to mystical, while the Taurus receives no such credit. I think that ought to be rectified. NN's in Leo so please allow me to use myself as an example.... With the sun transiting on my Taurus SN and Taurus draconic sun, I've been in a conversation with someone who has no idea what I'm thinking. It's like I'm that apparently dead snake in the grass, doing nothing. I'm not making a move, I'm just listening, listening some more.....it appears I'm being stubborn, but I'm actually just gathering information, tasting the air with my tongue. I know much more than I'm revealing, I see more than I can say. I won't react because that would disturb the peace and quiet, and I need peace and quiet to keep my senses functioning optimally. I trust my own senses and can only move when my instincts tell me to....when the time is right. So I wonder, is that what it's like to be a Taurus?

I don't know if I have ever attributed that quality to being Taurus, but after mulling over your post, I think it's entirely feasible. If Taurus is the opposite of the great detective of the Zodiac, Scorpio, who purposefully and meaningfully goes on a quest for information, why wouldn't Taurus be the type of sign to wait, chew on the information for a bit, piece things together slowly to get all the facts together before forming an opinion?
I used to attribute this quality of mine to Sun trine Saturn, but it very well could be a Taurus thing.
If someone I think is cool maliciously gossips against another, maybe much to this person's chagrin, I will not hate this person just based on this info. I will continue to lightly interact with the other person, observe for a bit, get in touch with how this person makes me feel. But not in that Scorpionic "I can see right through you" sort of way. Just in a "give me some time.. things will reveal itself with time" kind of way.
I feel like this tweet sums up how I feel in this regard:

My Taurus colleague (Gem Mars) would give me lots of lectures and pearls of wisdom. I think I get what you're saying though - their unreactiveness might be misconstrued as them 'going along' with whatever is happening. But they are nobody's fool. They just don't believe in wasting energy on inessentials. And "calling somebody out" on their BS is an inessential in Taurus land. At least as long as it doesn't get in their way. Even if it does, they don't need to make a big fuss about refusing, because their minds are so completely made up. They'll follow through on the action and that's how you know how they feel. ...Spitballin'.

Just in a "give me some time.. things will reveal itself with time" kind of way. That is exactly how I feel, about so many things! And the tweet is such a perfect illustration of it! There's a lot of mental chess with myself: If I say this, then that'll happen, and then THAT, and we go down that lane, so no, I'll redirect and choose THIS, because then that, and then that.... To an outside viewer, my piece is just sitting there on the chessboard, sedentary. But it's loaded with potential energy, wondering and wondering.

Yo, what's happening, man? I already told you, lady. ❤️ I think I get what you're saying though - their unreactiveness might be misconstrued as them 'going along' with whatever is happening. But they are nobody's fool. They just don't believe in wasting energy on inessentials. And "calling somebody out" on their BS is an inessential in Taurus land. They'll follow through on the action and that's how you know how they feel. SO GOOD...thank you. Honestly I've considered Taurus people somewhat of a mystery, most of my life. One of my first best friends was a Taurus, and her answer to many things was to say nothing. 'Didn't really know what her actual thoughts were, didn't know enough to predict she'd be happily married and pregnant by 19 for instance (still very happily married to the same guy). In those years she could've been mistaken for someone on a path to mediocrity but in time she demonstrated a lot of wisdom, she's a yoga teacher and health nut now, her family is so wholesome-seeming it's almost unnerving. But she has all my respect.

We have a saying where I am from: "see all, hear all, say nowt! (nothing)" and I have stuck to it most of my life haha. I generally operate by doing and saying what I feel is necessary at the time
