12YearsABlobI love Nivea products. Well they are not cruelty free, they sell to China, which demands animal testing. But the company says it sees no reason for testing otherwise and hopes to pressure China to change its policy. Anyway.... I have a big bottle of their skin firming lotion that will take a while to use up, and a concentrated serum for under my eyes. Love that stuff. Today I think I'll finally try plain shea butter -- great article here: draxe.com/raw-shea-butter/The recipe for Tea Tree and Lavender Shea Butter Facial Cream looks good.

LOL Well I have been putting shea butter on my face, it's like a light wax polish layer until it sinks in. About aninal testing, I don't mean to pressure anyone and probably shouldn't have mentioned it...really I'm going to be messing up, too, because my kids are attached to certain things (THEIR favorite toothpaste, THEIR favorite soap and shampoo) and I don't feel like interfering. I'm also happy if they're just using soap/shampoo and brushing teeth, too.

Nah, it's good to know all the same!
ETA: A place I visited had an unpleasant history of not treating animals well (will tell ya about it). I only found out afterwards. Apparently, they've changed the manager since. But I still felt queasy. Anyway, this thing's been on my mind.
For that matter, I dunno whether to even believe the certifications of those who do say they are cruelty free. #minorAttackofParanoia. Well, I'm sure they have a solid system (to check). At any rate, it's in better hands than mine - that's a nice thought.
