Just having had my Mars-Return-chart (and already feeling the energy shift BIG time), and already I am looking forward to the next REturn-chart, this time of the asteroid UNION. My Mars-Return My Union Return (from tomorrow on) Interestingly my last Mars-Return, that has ended two days ago, had ASC on 29 Libra, not only an ending degree, but also the exact degree of my natal (and P`s natal) UNION. lol And now the Mars and Return Union for me occur within 2-3 days of each other! The last Union-Return also had PoF on 16 Aquarius, Priapus on 14 Aquarius, conjunct my natal Moon on 17 Aquarius, and Return Juno on 14 Leo and Jupiter on 20 Leo (curiously P and me even crossed paths on that same day). And well the solar eclipse in 2018 was at 18 Leo, pretty close there (I Mean it was meaningful on its own for the opposition to my Moon obviously) and well jsut a few hours before the solar eclipse happened (with Tr Sun on 16-17 Leo) we bumped into each other and he asked me to have a coffee and chat with him. And this year we had a rather interesting meeting, too, just a day before that, with the transiting Sun-Venus-conjunction on 15-17 Leo. There were other features of that Union-return that is ending now, like back then the Return ASC was on 19 Libra, partile conjunct our composite NN, conjunct his natal Pluto on 21 Libra and putting the DESC on my Chiron on 20 Aries (kind amakes sense, in our composite Chiron is on 29 Aries opposing Union on 29 LIbra exactly). There was an 11th house Moon in applying partile conjunction to P`s natal DESC. There was more stuff, but just seems to be valid checking asteroid returns, at least this last Union return chart was very descriptive in terms of my interactions and connections (not only with P btw). And having it once more happen but so close to the Mars-Return,t hat seems to always be "on" and describing the energy and where most activity will come from or being focused, well I thought why not have a look? So these are the two charts above, one will be accompanying me for the next 2 or 2,5 years approximately (Mars-Return), the Union-return chart is a "5 year chart" approximately.

It's like "Where's Waldo," except with the asteroid Union. I can't find it in the Union Return chart lumina ! Well thanks for bringing this topic up because aside from feeling a bit ill, disappointed, and crazy, I think I've been handling Saturn-Pluto okay. One foot in front of the other. And it did cross my mind that perhaps my progressed Mars around 20° was helping me navigate the eclipse energy at least...because I'm used to sun-quincunx-Mars energy (my pr Mars quincunx the eclipse sun). Then I saw this and got to thinking, no, maybe my Mars has fared alright because my Mars Return chart (below) is geared around this energy anyway...notice ASC/DSC axis + nodal axis run along that eclipse full moon opposition: Aw, Chiron-Venus right on the MC, t-squaring Juno and the moon. Saturn-Pluto-SN on the DSC, also encouraging when it comes to domestic affairs... Not that I understand anything whatsoever with Mars square Neptune. I really do not like that my sun is right on H's SN. That's not even playing fair. I can mentally detach, but not horoscopically.

Ah yes Ava i forgot union. Lol it is on 29 libra. Quite a mars return chart you have there and not too easy, mars in 12th square neptune and then the intensity of the saturn pluto...

I usually do not compare return charts to each other (maybe i should?) - but in the last marscreturn charts from 2018 untul now ivwas having Moon on 00 Libra, P was having Sun on 00 Libra!!!
Moon was in 11th house (invreturnchart) ruling the 9th Sun (in ps return) was in 5ht house, ruling the 3rd (and 4th).

Ava you are halfway through with your Mars-Return it seems, well it looks to me like quite a bit of 12th house emphasis, along with 10th house emphasis and of course 7th/ 6th house. I do think that probably the 12th house "wins out" in this chart. The ASC falls into your natal 12th house AND Mars is not just in 12th house of the Return chart but it is conjunct the cusp! The square to Neptune might sometimes make you feel like you are drained of all energy, like it just somehow disappears, probably a lot of tiredness. I do remember though when I had the Transit, it was challenging, but there were also good things happening, just even though weirded me out and I was just like: "What is all of that about?" Probably this will become clearer once Neptune leaves your Mars be, it has been a longlasting transit for you, but it is fading out now, so things should get clearer in the last months of your Mars-Return. For all the crap stuff piling up in the 12th house and the weird dreams it brings, I think it is also a ressource of power and strength, if you need it. Not even aware of how much you can actually take, and the energy might be there if you are addressing Neptunian things. Ruler of the ASC is in Capricorn (on my Venus btw) in 6th house, so guessing that has a lot to do with the pets, the work situation, the adjustments in daily life, health, etc. A lot of 10th house emphasis too, so some sort of visibility, and well, Venus-Chiron on the MC, your raw spots in terms of relationships are pretty clear to see I guess, there is also strength in that, but of course it sucks, especially with that T-square! the Nodal axis along the horizon with Saturn-Pluto in 7th house is of course also huge. Ruler of DESC ON DESC. Relationships. Old relationships from the past - Saturn on SN on DESC - undergoing a massive transformation, maybe dying, maybe being reborn, (conj. Pluto). Well a lot of intensity there, and the eclipse totally bringing it on, so I think actually you have only seen the beginning of the transformation, and the last months of your Mars-Return will make things clearer in terms of Saturn-Pluto-SN on the DESC, where this will really go. Possibly when Mars will transit 20-23 Capricorn, that is when some event will happen connected to that.

also don`t forget Venus rules your natal 4th house, so the conjunction to Chiron might in some way also reflect the pain in your family.

Ava some random afterwords to your Mars-Return. Mars in 12th house is an intriguing placement (and I am saying that having that natally myself, though in my case it is conjunct ASC). So often it seems like the 12th house is a blind spot, as if planets and energies seem to "disappear into a black hole" and are out of reach in a way. However they are very present, they do reach US, mostly coming up from seemingly nowwhere, and also, it is interesting as other people usually can see our 12th house energies quite strongly, when we would swear we do not have them. Another thing is, it is really good in operating from behind the scenes, from behind a veil, and also this is often not said, but 12th house is very often a house of prominence, celebrities becoming a posterchild for certain archetypical energies often have strong 12th houses. It`s not that we really know them, but they become a "symbol" in some way. In your case I think it means that you have a very fine antenna for the Zeitgeist, for what is going on in the world, that is not on the surface level. Also Mars Return charts shows where the action is, the motivation and the energy. So a lot of activity might surround addressing "skelettons in the closet" - which would probably be even more pronounced with 8th house emphasis, but still subconscious content getting addressed, and yes, well sometimes pretty frustrated about it, wanting to deal with it in a mental active way (it still is in Gemini), but the square to Neptune seems to just keep the more constructive efforts out of reach, feeling like it is just to no avail and will get lost in some quicksand. (it is not lost though, it just seems so with Neptune squares). I do remember, that several days when I was having Tr Neptune squaring Mars (and Tr Mars conjunct n Neptune), I was LITERALLY feeling like I had to force my way through a swamp or quicksand, just to keep my head above water (well I was also having periods of dizziness and got treated for iron deficiency which such a textbook case Mars-Neptune, it still makes me roll my eyes. LOL) Where Mars in 12th can really shine is, if you put, and you have done so, your energy towards spiritual practice (the practice-part is important), active meditation etc, even becoming a spiritual warrior for the underdog or fighting for minorities and against injustice (though possibly that is more the Sag-side of Mars in 12th, Mars in Gemini might operate very much on a verbal level, fighting against even the slightest suspicion of verbal and mental manipulation or censorship). ----------------------- Also what I read is that some planets will simply not play that much of a role in any Return chart, UNLESS they are closely conjunct or opposite a natal planet or angle. Well I wouldn`t subscribe to that totally (the rising sign in any return chart, the chartruler, angular planets, the luminaries, the Nodes, the return planet and its dispositor ALWAYS play a role), but it definitely enhances the power of any return chart or importance. Something falling onto your natal nodes, definitely a major screeching bell to listen to. Speaking of which Celeste Teal mentioned in one of her books that if you have the Nodes conjunct ASC in any Return chart, this is an indication for a "highly fated Return-cycle". You have that and along with that the eclipse. Yeah, talk about that! Of course, usually with "highly fated years", I have noticed that while we are inside of them, we do not even think they are, or not in what way, just having that vague feeling of "this is important/ decisive/ critical", but mostly we are just trying to somehow get through all the experiences, the huge ones as well as the many little pricks we are receiving, and which in their totality make the fatedness. But anyway so in terms of Mars, of activity, of how you apply your energy and where and what for, this is a cross-road Mars-cycle for you.

Oh and meaninglessness - people seem to not talk about that in respect to Neptune either - but if he doesn`t bring the magical experiences, then he (unfortunately more frequently than the magic thing) bestows you with a feeling of meaninglessness; "nothing means really anything at all, everything is just pointless", that feels like a bottomless pit. (of course the purpose is for you to get your stuff together and either FIND or CREATE the meaning yourself instead of waiting for the good fairy from Cinderella to magically transform you into a princess. Just be a queen in your own right! but well as long as NEptune is paralyzing you - another keyword for Neptune transits, esp. the hard ones. paralyzing, it is of course hard to even find the motivation to get out of bed in the morning. If you do find that motivation however and create meaning by spirituality or creativity or whatever Neptune is about in your chart, THEN the magic fairy dust might happen for real, but yeah, Neptune is just an Either-or planet as Pluto is, he is just a bit more vague about it. ) EDIT: with "you" I mean the generic "you", not you Ava personally.

If by pointless you mean not worth pursuing, I'd attribute it to Saturn. He's the one who's not buying the magic and he's good at being hopeless. When it comes to Neptune, he can lack in action. Fantasizing doesn't require effort and can't disappoint you. And he may simply have no idea what to do to get what he wants.

I can see your points, but i meant what i wrote. Neptune in its lowest can evoke a sense of meaninglessness that reaches very very deep.

That's interesting because I see Neptune as the most important ingredient in the existential crisis cure. Self-deception shielding us from the uncomfortable truth. I should probably stop here.

lumina , cannot thank you enough for that enlightening reading. Everything you said resonates. You know my life and read charts so expertly, so it's no wonder you can knit these together and point out the correlations and meanings, but I'm still astounded. One substantial, recurring thought I've had over the past few months is something like, "Who would I be if I couldn't hide anything?" I've been ruminating on the way my life seems to reflect what I DIDN'T say or do (12H Saturn opposing Mercury, semisquare Mars.) I look at problems and think, "See how that wouldn't be there, if you were more up front, assertive, fully present?" Almost like I'm living in shadow form and wondering who the actual 3D person is. It's not entirely my fault that I seem to fail at communication; that's a two-way street and sometimes I'm not being heard, or I feel thwarted, blocked, misinterpreted, and that can be endless, the way people distort what others' say and mean. It's hard to even get deeply in touch with one's self and KNOW the core we want to be speaking from. But anyway, my point is just that I have had a feeling that I'm in a cocoon phase and will eventually emerge from this as a more assertive person. So I was laughing when I found my next Mars Return, with an Aries sun and Scorpio moon, both disposited by Mars on the NN: ^ Yeah I guess I will be more fully myself then? ASC conjunct natal sun, 3H Aries stellium But that would make all hell break loose on the homefront, as expected...Uranus on the IC. Enough about me for now, I'm going to take a crack at your Mars Return, though I feel really out of my depth, I just want to spend some time with it.

lumina, So your Mars Return has this eclipse and Saturn-Pluto energy embedded in it, with Pluto as the chart ruler, in the 3rd house. Obviously this is a very Capricorn chart, but it's not about Capricorn essentially, this is more your energy, which is still in Sadge... Mars is forming some minor, tense aspects, and I guess that's Mars' natural "stomping grounds" (literally stomping, expressing anger, amongst other things). But I think Mars looks coolly restrained here, just from being in the 2H, quincunx Taurus DSC. Mars disposited by 2H Cap Jupiter. Hmm Mars opposing the Uranus-NN midpoint: "Mars: In whatever you do you feel a need now and then to experiment with and/or change your approach, so that you are constantly overcoming any tendency to just fall into a pattern or routine." john-sandbach.blogspot.com/2010/12/planets-activating-uranusnode-midpoint.htmlUranus is angular, aspecting Mars, with the Aqua IC on your natal moon, so it looks like there is some reactivity at this time, especially with a 9H Cancer moon. Almost like, so much is going on, no wonder you're going to be extra vigilant with your communication, extra profound. NN in the 8th here, you're keeping your own counsel. Leo MC, but it's quincunx its dispositor. It does almost feel like an actual lightning rod, the MC-IC axis rooted on your Aqua moon... As if you are shocking people just by being who you are, and maybe with Jupiter-SN on your Venus, allure plays into this, but you're not exactly in your element (Mars receives no positive aspects)...So when it comes to the fallout of whatever is going on, you ground yourself by keeping your course (2H Mars), knowing your emotions (moon on IC), and speaking very substantially.... Almost seems like a south-node-revisited chart, because you're a Gem SN and this has the loaded 3H with the sun conjunct Mercury, etc.... This is just a post where I am trying to get my gears turning but I'm so sleepy, my mind is not cooperating, so I will try and revise or see more tomorrow.

Avayes, i have of course the advantage of knowing a bit about what is going on in your life or has been going on in the past, so it was easier to relate the astrological symbolism to your life for me. "Who would I be if I couldn't hide anything?"" that is a great thought! Actually I think that is what got me paying real attention to P, not the way he was singing, though this is great, but that spontaneous and weird thought of "You remind me of myself. Of how I would be, if I wasn´t held back by my own perceptions and limitations and possibly past experiences shaping me to not be fully myself." Downright hilarious, but it sometimes feels like we have exchanged personalities to a certain degree, him becoming much somber and serious than he used to be, and me more inclined to making silly random remarks. Of course I still have that serious side, and in fact I can feel it coming up more presently, too. But not int he suppressed way it was all these years ago, more like i just want to contribute something substantial and tangible,a nd if I do not have anything either witty or important to say, then better not say anything at all. Well my day to day personality is like that anyway, much more reserved in real life contact than online, where I just blurb out stuff that is so random. But anyway, it is weird that he seems to much more introvert now than he used to be, and while I am still no extravert, I think I am more open and engaging in a quiet way, and sometimes not so quiet. I will always just spitting out remarks that seem to come out of nowwhere occasionally. But anyway that wanting to add substantial and tangible things and thoughts of value, might be already a reflection of the 2nd house emphasis, which is also there int he Solar Return. I am really wishing you could be more openly yourself, too. It is refreshing, even though it might alienate some people. but then again the people of value and who really care about the real you will appreciate that. (of course there are boundaries to even openness - that is a bit of a paradox, right? Boundaries to openness.) I love your next Mars Return. 3rd house emphasis, as you said, Aries Sun, Scorpio-Moon, Mars on the NN - coming out assertively and with who you are, even more so ASC on natal Sun, The Aries stellium on your Jupiter,r ight? I also adore the Sun-Venus-conjunction in Aries in 3rd house, it just makes me think of a romantic relationship, or at least some nice pleasant flirtative communications, affectionate in a very straightforward way. I mean a Sun-Venus-conjunction in a Mars-return, it is pretty juicy. of course in 3rd house, so might be mostly expressed in words and communications which should actually suit your Gemini-Mars. Seems like the 12th house Mars now is mulling things over and then in the cycle after that will come out to share the insights. Yeah Uranus on IC might shake up things, of course that could mean a lot of things.

Avathank you for the delineation. "So your Mars Return has this eclipse and Saturn-Pluto energy embedded in it, with Pluto as the chart ruler, in the 3rd house. Obviously this is a very Capricorn chart, but it's not about Capricorn essentially, this is more your energy, which is still in Sadge... " It absolutely is! Curiously just like in the Mars-returns before, there is an exact conjunction between P`s and my Mars-Return; his Pluto conjunct my Sun on 20 Capricorn - and well of course Pluto was around there for long, but Sun wasn`t and it is the same degree. Also it is downright hilarious but I have a Leo-MC, and he has a Scorpio-MC in his Mars-Return, so basically our two MC-rulers having that exact conjunction. But well it is about me here, I guess a lot of mental/ communication energy, though in a condensed way, after all it is Capricorn, it is Saturn and Pluto there. And as you said, eclipse energy, some sort of culmination/ illumination/ maybe also ending/ completion happening. Moon is in Cancer, which I find interesting. Considering I have a natal Aqua Moon, this is a pretty emotional Moon for me, and it is holding her own against all that structured Cappy-energy. Hmm, actually it is conjunct my pr Eros on 23 Cancer, and my natal Destinn. Just some asteroids but they are both on 23 Cancer. and it conjuncts my Vertex on 21 Cancer. And is on my Draco IC or close to it at least. Seems to contain quite a bit of sutble connections there. the sabian is just hilarious: A Woman And Two Men Castaways On A Small Island Of The South Seas Not sure why that reminds me of that or why I am even feeling that way, but I kind of miss Lancelot. It`s very very weird. And I am a bit suspicious as to where THAT suddenly comes from. LOL "Mars is forming some minor, tense aspects," Yes, it is also on the Sun/Juno-mp, and Juno is within 1-2 degrees of the Sun/Moon-mp which is exactly square my natal Sun/Moon-mp. LOL and actually on the natal Uranus/Pluto-mp, opposing Chiron. Gotta watch those 19-21 cardinal. "and I guess that's Mars' natural "stomping grounds" (literally stomping, expressing anger, amongst other things). But I think Mars looks coolly restrained here, just from being in the 2H, quincunx Taurus DSC. Mars disposited by 2H Cap Jupiter. Hmm " yes. Well Mars has been in 2nd house in the last Mars-Return-chart as well. And it has not been about money. Actually the 2nd house is an interesting one, it also has a lot to say about physicality, and how you sort of consolidate your body. I mean the 1st house is what was given to you, in the 2nd house you start shaping it yourself in a way (maybe I will continue those cosmetic visits and haircuts and such stuff. actually this only started to be a factor when Mars started falling into the 2nd house. lol and of course it is about self-validation, value, worthiness etc.) "Mars opposing the Uranus-NN midpoint: " Yes, interesting. it has no orb either. Uranus-NN also describes sudden, surprising or unusual encounters and connections. Last Mars return had NN opposing Mars/Uranus exact, and Sun conjunct Mars/Uranus with 1 minute of orb (because Sun was conjunct SN with one minute of orb and on my natal Moon - so in a way the theme continues) "so it looks like there is some reactivity at this time, especially with a 9H Cancer moon. " What do you mean with reactivity? NN in 8th is interesting, I mean it is on the side of the other, where we form relationships, especially in the houses 5-8, but it is the 8th house, deep and not always really showing what is going on. It also actually has some relation to how you bring yourself physically into relationships or relating to others (that is why it is thought of as a house of sexual intimacy - well I doubt this will be a factor. lol) Cool interpretation btw! Also I wanted to mention something else. In my last Mars-Return I was having the chartruler Venus on 21 Aquarius conjunct Juno on 20 Aquarius in 4th house (conjunct my Draco Uranus on 21 or 22 Aquarius - and actually Return uranus was conjunct my Draco Venus as well). Venus was squaring Marsdispositor Jupiter on 21 Scorpio in 1st house (and Psyche on 22 Scorpio). About 9 months into that Mars-Return I met the Italian, whose Sun is on 21 Aquarius squaring Pluto on 20 Scorpio. Definitely interesting. (well my Solar Arc Venus was at 21 Aquarius at that time, too)

WEll I kinda have been envious of the Solar Return chart P`s wife had when they got together. NOt even because of her and him getting together, but just, wow, how does it feel experiencing such a Solar REturn?
She was having
Sun 8 Aries URanus 8 Aries Venus 8 Aries Mars 13 Aries
Well squaring PLuto on 11 Cap, and SR NN was on 18 SCorpio (mean Node), on her natal SN
But still just having marvelled at that quadruple conjunction in her chart.
Seriously can I have some of that Solar Return energy, too? lol

Having said that, I was having a pretty fine time the year I was having that Stellium in Sagittarius, though it was not that close (and I did not get into a relationship, but it was a nice year in terms of relating)
Mercury 15 Sag Moon 19 Sag Venus 20 Sag Sun 25 Sag Saturn 29 Sag
(and the Sun was trine Uranus-Pallas on 24-25 Aries)
I think I never ever had a Venus-Mars-in ANY Solar return chart though.
Hmm in the year I met P I actually had SR Mars opposing natal Venus partile squaring SR MOon in Aries on the SR AND natal IC (it was a year when the SR Angles were conjunct my natal ones by 1 degree - oh well seems it had been a huge year and I just missed the boat. lol There was also a quadruple conjunction of Sun, Mercury, Pluto and Jupiter from 25-29 Sag)
2 years later when I sort of crossed his path again, and obviously once more was not listening to the melody of the times. lol, my SR had Venus on 19 SAg trine Mars on 19 Leo. and Juno on 29 PIsces, the last degree of the zodiac.
Then the year after that when he was approaching me at a concert (and actually I was also seeing Jude Law then in London. lol), my SR had Mars-Pluto-NN on my natal Venus (SR Mars on 7 Cap conjunct n Venus on 6 Cap the closest), and my SR Juno-ASC falling onto P`s natal DESC-Saturn - just HOW many years did I fail at that?) Oh Jupiter-URanus was on his natal ASC.
Next year (2021) I will have SR Venus on 2 Sag and SR MC on 8 Sag, surrounding my natal Mars on 5 Sag and ASC on 7 Sag. SR Venus will also be conjunct SR Juno on 29 Scorpio.
HOwever it probably will suck nevertheless there will also be a 12th house conjunction of
Jupiter 29 Cap Saturn 00 Aqua Moon 02 Aqua (Pallas 03 Aqua)
WEll at least Moon is sextile Venus.
The year after that 2022, while not meeting the criteria actually seems like an important one (well next year is pretty important too I guess. I mean Moon-Saturn-Jupiter, might not be something to get bubbly about, but seems serious)
Anyway 2022 has
a 1 degree Venus-Pluto-conjunction (actually I am back with the Venus-Pluto-conjunctions in the Solar REturns, just like some years ago, even this year it already is in place, albeit at wider orb), and this one falls right onto P`s natal VEnus, esp. the SR Venus (this year SR Venus already is conjunct his n Venus as well, but just not as exact).
SR DESC and SR Mercury (my natal DESC-ruler) falling onto my natal Venus - all three on the same degree of 6 Capricorn!
SR Mars on 3 Sag conjunct natal Mars on 5 Sag (basically P is going to have a Venus-Return close to his Solar Return, and I am going to have a Mars-return close to my Solar REturn in december 2021)
SR Ceres and SR NN (mean) on 00 Gemini
SR Moon on 9 Gemini on my natal SN and DESC
but it is a 12th house Moon again. hmm. well
On the other hand the year 2014 (SR MOon on 29 Gemini in 12th house opposite Sun) was better than the year before, and delivering some surprising developments. lol

Sometimes solar return mini-stories are more interesting to me than at other times. It's still weird to me that you can simply list aspects and I am intrigued as if it's a cliffhanger novel. But I haven't got any replies...

Ava did it work for you and your marriage? Rough sketch video notes: 1) Check Solar Return for marriage/significant relationship year - Venus conjunct Mars - Juno conjunct sun or Jupiter - 2H, 7H, 11H rulers: look at their transits, look to see if they fall in 2H, 7H, 11H in the SR 2) Check Progressed Chart- Venus changing signs, progressing to conjunct the moon, Mars, or Vertex - Check all progressions to the Vertex (their planets or yours, their vertex or yours, mix and match) Re: SR- No Venus conjunct Mars in my SR - No Juno conjunct sun or Jupiter - About house rulers, not sure if it's even worth checking, since my birth time is only rectified, and some of the house cusps are too close to the sign cusps to feel confident about the rulers. My 2H is mostly Virgo but with the time I use, the 2H cusp is still in Leo, at the very end. Anyway assuming the time is right: 2H ruler = sun 7H ruler = Uranus 11H ruler = Mercury Transits on wedding day: 7H ruler transiting in my natal 7H; 2H + 11H rulers (sun, Mercury) transiting conjunct, in natal 9H My solar return features natal 7H ruler Uranus exactly conjunct SR ASC @ 11 Aqua conjunct my pr sun @ 9 Aqua. So no, Uranus is not in the 2H, 7H, or 11H, but it's in Aquarius (similar to 11H) and about as prominent as possible. Natal 11H ruler Mercury in the SR's 11H. 2H ruler (sun) is in the SR 12H, but its dispositor Saturn is in the SR 2H. ==> Transiting sun and Mercury were conjunct on the SR's 2H cusp on wedding day, @ 28-29 Pisces, trine SR Juno-Chiron @ 27-29 Scorpio. SR Mercury in the 11H is @ 29 Sag. That's answering her first point, about the solar return, in the most cut-and-dry way. I guess there are some hits. It's just hard to present this clearly.
