Has anyone noticed this? My elder son's NN is conjunct my MC. Similarly, both (because they were born 2 months apart) his and his wife's NNs are conjunct their son's MC. However, there is no aspect of nodes to angles with their other child.
I have a similar connection with my younger son - his NN is conjunct my IC.
I have read that angles and nodes conjunctions in synastry indicate a strong karmic bond. I was wondering, however, if it also implies that the node person has a strong influence on the MC person. That would make sense where the child is the angle person. Where I as the parent is the angle person - I can't see any extraordinary way that my kids have influenced my life.
Any ideas what these aspects indicate?

I can't see any extraordinary way that my kids have influenced my life. You mean that? That is surprising to me. I mean what greater influence on anyones life than having kids could there be? PRobably depends on the people involved of course, but that thought never occurred to me. I think both people are influenced, probably in different ways. my Dads NN is conjunct my IC. my Mom`s NN is square my ASC. my NN is conjunct my Dad`s IC widely. my NN is square my Mom`s MC_NN.

My father's NN-DSC is conjunct my oldest brother's NN-ASC (my dad's firstborn) in late Gemini, if my brother remembers his birth time correctly. If another brother remembers his birth time right, his ASC is also in late Gemini, trine his Aqua NN. My rectified ASC is conjunct my oldest son's NN and widely squares my mother's, sister's, and another sons' nodes.
My husband's ASC squares both parents' nodes.
My oldest son's ASC squares my husband's nodes.
My youngest son's SN conjunct my husband's ASC.

Ava , any conjectures about how aspects to the Asc might differ from aspects to the MC, for example? A possibly spurious interpretation to distinguish between angles: one of my son's NN is on my MC and I think, outwardly, my day to day life involves his family so he influences my life more, while the younger son (whose NN is on my IC) does not affect my life in such an obvious way - I see a lot less of him. I'm not sure what to make of the SN on the opposite angles here. Neither of them, though, have any bearing on key aspects of my life - my decision to study and research, for example.

Ava , any conjectures about how aspects to the Asc might differ from aspects to the MC, for example? I'm not that advanced, so thank you for those clues. My best friend's SN is conjunct my MC in Aries; she is always telling people I am more like her sister. In this case, assuming my chart is correct, the aspect might go along with the fact that I have her back when she becomes a bit warlike. I mean, there is a time and a place for fighting. To me, I guess the MC seems more serious than the ASC, because it's associated with Capricorn, versus the Aries-associated ASC. The ASC is our spontaneous energy, it's natural and it flows. I think the MC is more deliberate and beset with potential difficulties. It's how you gather up your inner resources and mindfully distribute those to your environment. So even with an Aries MC, for me it's always very, very serious, determining when to zip my lip versus speak out. My best friend, with her SN there, is prone to acting on deep, south-nodal reflexes, possible carryovers from a past life...she is both certain and uncertain about her reactions to people. She knows she is being authentic but frets about causing damage. With my MC there, I contribute that MC-like contemplation, probing into the situation, hopefully expanding her perspective and calming her nerves. I guess it works and that's why her NN is conjunct my IC: she feels at home with me, and all the Libra-esque balancing I strive for with her. In contrast, with my ASC on my sun's NN in Leo, it's not like I'm giving him pep talks: "Go out and shine!" Our chemistry does strike up some "light" though: we make each other laugh, play off each other's eccentric humor (Aqua SN/DSC), and there is just this pattern of generating levity. Hopefully I am demonstrating what it's like to be comfortable in one's own skin. Not that I always am....but part of me comes forward like that, regularly. Astrology can make me feel like everything I'm saying is whimsical and of no consequence but if anyone recognizes any truth in this, or fallacy, please speak up, I'm passing the baton to you.

This is me, too! I have lost too much sleep when it comes to that sort of thing.

I have lost too much sleep when it comes to that sort of thing. She loses a lot of sleep from it, too.
