As some some of you already know I’m currently experiencing lots of transits over my cap stellium, which revealed to me that I have an 8th house stellium - venus-mars-Neptune-uranus-north node. I’m not saying this with pride or arrogance or anything, it’s just that events during these transits really force me to reckon with my astrological knowledge. Recently I asked my mother and it was confirmed that I was born probably almost an hour later than the listed time she wrote down, due to eastern astrology being concerned only with the hour and not the minutes.
anyway, this whole process of self discovery has been interesting in that I realize lots of articles written on the 8th house placements are not really accurate because they’re written by ppl who assume 8th=Scorpio, or whatever magnetism, sexual taboo spiel one tends to see all over 8th/Scorpio topics.
so I’m gonna try to create some spaces to share experiences/research related to the 8th.

I had a thread at the other place about how I seem to get involved with death more than a typical, non-medical-field person. I just have a lot of stories of showing up immediately after someone died or the body was found, etc.
Today I met the woman who is taking my place at work, it's my job to train her. She's very upbeat, smiley, chatty. After a few hours of conversation she revealed that her parents were murdered. That story was national news last year. There's more to it.
My husband got irritated as I was telling him the details, which reminds me that not everyone has a stomach for this kind of thing. People don't want to dwell on grim, depressing stuff. I forget that not everyone is like me. I want to hear about it. I want to go into hospice care, talking to dying people on a regular basis.
Anyway I feel like it's just so typical of my life, that I would meet this woman. I thought, I should keep posting incidents like this here as they happen, to create a record.
(Another 8H moon thing, I was seated next to an international arms dealer on my flight down South to see my family last month. He was a late Pisces, his sun conjunct my best friend's. After he revealed that I felt comfortable telling him, "It just figures I'd be seated next to you.")
I assume I have an 8H moon (word of mouth birth time, birth stories, rectification) but even if not, it's in Pisces, trine my Scorpio NN.

Thanks lumina . I agree, 8H moon really seems to fit me and my life. My new coworker said people keep telling her to get therapy, but she would reply, "I don't need therapy. I need the Long Island Medium! I need to talk to my parents." She ended up consulting with a local medium in our town & raved about the experience. I got the medium's name and wonder if or when I might go see her. If I do, I'll report back on this thread.

It's not like I'm on the front lines with coronavirus but how strange that I just transferred into the department that stocks hand sanitizer. Plus disinfecting wipes and rubbing alcohol. You can see the panic in people's eyes as they face the sanitizer shortage, especially if they are getting on a flight.

As my mother sais: This is an exercise for the real case of emergency, to see how population will react to these threats and the controls implanted by the governments.
And I swear she NEVER reads any facebook or conspiracy theories (she is very suspcious of social media - Mercury in Scorpio and Sun in Scorpio as well with a Virgo stellium - I guess she has a point)

happymoneysaver.com/homemade-hanitizer/For anyone facing shortages. I guess I'll try to make my own - I haven't tried to buy any lately, but when dad was walking the dogs at the park, and I was waiting behind with one in the van, I had to fast-walk to the porta potties, and the hand sanitizer had been removed from the wall. (??) I don't know if people at the park did that, or if someone stole them. I just don't understand the people taking it out on Asians. Or the restaurants over here.

I've been feeling very quiet over things happening lately, because it still messes with my head that people deliberately elected him - and didn't think that an educated, compassionate, organized woman with actual plans, could beat him.

It's about a grown-up Danny Torrance (from The Shining), a recovering addict, moves to a small town, works as a janitor in a nursing home, and ends up following a cat who can tell when people are going to pass on. He sits with them, and keeps them company/makes them feel better.

^ Sounds good anela. I've heard of a cat who did that. My own cat has shown up in my bed a few times when I had night terrors. She's the first/only one I had who did that.

So yesterday in the middle of the night I dreamed that someone I love committed suicide by hanging, and I woke up in a very very dark frame of mind, desperately sad. I realized this person was still alive, but I started praying for the parents of anyone who might be dying this way...it was such a vivid dream it felt like I was vicariously experiencing it.
Came to work and my main coworker (the only person I work with on a regular basis) told me her cousin committed suicide yesterday, he was found in the morning. I said I dreamed of a suicide where someone hung themselves and she said that's how he did it.
Sun's transiting my 8th house, things tend to get weird for me in Pisces season.
Pls don't quote

Oh @ava I'm so sorry you had to experience such a dream, especially since the theme of it came true. I hope your co-worker is going to be ok soon. Such a tragedy, I can't even imagine what they feel right now. They must have a million wishes they could have somehow helped their loved one.

If you find yourself on Facebook, and are interested in 8tj house, I recommend the following group: m.facebook.com/groups/693071804133372?view=info&ref=group_browseCarmen Turner-Schott has a couple of books on 8th and 12th house astrology. Though, as of late, I've not seen the same quality of posts as I did a couple of years back. There's still the run of the mill sex, death, and occult stuff, but there's some more insightful stuff from time to time as well.

I've been trying to get a handle on my thoughts to answer this coherently. I experience my 8th house sun viscerally, which I think is a property of 8th house. 3rd house knowing is knowing the details. 9th house knowing is knowing philosophically. 8th house knowing is knowing viscerally, innately, intuitively.
The sun is in the 8th house in the late afternoon. The rays of the sun are no longer directly hitting you, but the heat from the noon has not yet dissipated. The shadows grow long, but the sunset has not yet arrived.
It is a time of transition. Typical employees are finishing their work for the day and heading home. School children are home awaiting their parents, or supper, or perhaps getting homework or chores out of the way (or finding ways to procrastinate). It is a shift from the public to the personal, the structured to the unstructured, a time of reflection on the results of the day and the demands of tomorrow.
The cowboy riding off into the sunset occures to me as a metaphor here. As does a journey into darkness.
Astrologically, the 8th house is one of the 4 houses that can not "see" the ascendant, along with the 2nd, 6th, and 12th. So, what happens in the 8th can be considered "hidden". Also, as the opposite of the 2nd, it can be read as shelter or security (2nd) of the other. That's where it gets it's rep as the house of "Other People's Money". But it's not just money. It can be secrets, safety, shelter...
To be an 8th house is to not see the world at face value. You can't abide the insincere or the unauthentic. There is no time for the petty. Nightfall is coming. The shadows grow long, and there is still much that needs done.
It is a trope that you meet someone and within an hour they've told you their life story. This happens to literally every 8th house sun. It even happens to my daughter with just a couple of 8th house planets. People sense something about you. That you're safe to talk to, or that you demand authenticity, or that maybe, you're the one person who can understand, or listen without judging. Or that, intuitively, you already know.
In my 20's I had a friend who was exploring his path as a shamanic/druidic/something as I was exploring my own path of "I did what they told me and it didn't work so maybe I'll try it my way" -ism. (Another journey 8th housers have to make). Anyway, we had this thing... When we would try to discuss things and got to a point where either words failed, or it needed too many words to describe the concept, we would say "Thought, thought, image, image". Meaning, "I can't explains it completely, you have to see/feel what I mean without words." That's what 8th house suns can (when we're at our best) do.
I've been writing this for over an hour, so I'm going to wrap up for now. But for one parting comment... When they get on the forums and say how ooky they are, how obsessed with sex they are, how goth they are because they have some random outer in the 8th house, it just makes me want to pull my hair out! See the authenticity part above.

geminiblues, that was a phenomenal post, thank you. I appreciate your observations and can relate to a lot of it, especially this: "There is no time for the petty. Nightfall is coming." It explains so many of my major life decisions. I also might be immoderately bothered by inauthenticity, though I try and check myself for any hypocrisy, knowing that by concealing a lot, I might be committed a sort of "lie by omission." I've stressed a lot about that. Being unwilling to let my Christian friends know I'm into astrology, for example. So what I try and do is "float" the information obliquely and hope they're astute enough to get my drift. Anyway, brilliant post, thank you for taking the time.
