To find Mercury speed, you can use this link:
www.true-node.com/eph1
Question is, if you have the same Mercury speed as someone, are you more likely to be on the same wavelength?
---
My natal Mercury speed is 1°03. (So, if it were traveling at a constant, at that very speed, it'd move 1°03 degrees per day).
Husband's natal Mercury speed is 1°26.
Not bad, only 0°23 apart. The maximum speed of Mercury is over 2°00, but I can't find that exact figure, because I guess I'm not creative enough with my Google searches, I'm just not landing on that fact. But I know it's over 2°00, so theoretically people could have a great speed difference AND directional difference. Then I wonder what their conversations might be like.
---
To find speed of pr Mercury, use the progressed date and time given at astro.com, just be aware they use UT/GMT, so enter the time for that at true-node (if you're interested, of course).
Speed of pr Mercury when we met
Him - 0°59 (Rx)
Me - 0°48 (Rx)
Only 0°10 apart and both Rx! Pretty strange.
Speed of pr Mercury when we got married
Him - 0°57 (Rx)
Me - 0°40 (Rx)
My Mercury bottomed out and turned direct 4 years later, but it was still in the 0° range (I mean 0°00 to 0°59) until two years ago when it finally reached natal speed again. His was in the 0° range until about 5 years ago. So all that time we were dealing with pr Mercury Rx, then stationary direct, then just moving slow, together.
Now he's at 1°28 (faster than natal)
I'm at 1°06
So it's similar to our natals again.

I definitely wonder what it's like to have a fast Mercury. My best friend's is 1°57, about the same as Einstein's.
Not exactly sure how thinking is affected, though. Jeff Bezos has a very slow Mercury, about 0°32 Rx. He seems to have made it work. Bill Gates is ticking along with a slow Mercury, about 0°50.

It's Oprah's birthday and maybe it's apparent from the style of her communication, but she has a fast Mercury, about 1°44.
(I say "about" because I'm not bothering with birth times at true-node, just entering birthdays.)
Overall I think slow Mercuries might feel that fast Mercuries gloss over important details, and they prefer to ruminate on the fundamentals of things. Fast Mercuries can process things so quickly it's almost like they are living in the future and just waiting for others to catch up. ("We don't HAVE to actually do it that way.")

Anyway, curious to know if couples tend to have similar natal Mercury speeds, and/or pr Mercury speed patterns, so I will be researching this a bit here.
Adding this link, which dovetails with my thread, but is not exactly my focus:
