I am no closer to being able to succinctly describe the beauty of mercury retrograde. "Like a cow chewing cud" is neither flattering nor decent despite my intentions to the contrary. Anyway, for now, I'm leaving some examples in here because "show, don't tell" appeals to my own mercury-saturn.
One of the best examples of how mercury retrograde operates is this short story by Amy Hempel, called "The Harvest". You can read it online here. She literally goes back and deconstructs her story in the course of its telling.
And yes, Amy Hempel has mercury retrograde. (If you like to read, I'd recommend her work).
Other writers who have mercury retrograde: - Lionel Shriver
- Margaret Atwood
- J.R.R. Tolkien
- Fyodor Dostoyevsky
- Vladimir Nabokov
- Shel Silverstein
