How nice, astro.com just gave us the option to view aspect lines for quintiles/biquintiles (72°, 144°)! It shows up as a yellow line in the charts. Thank you, lumina for pointing this out to me. Now those of us who could never be bothered to do the math manually and find these minor aspects have a tool for finding them effortlessly.......so I figure, it's more likely to become a topic of interest. And it's a gloomy day here, but the quintile is a happy aspect.  edit |

Wow! This is extremely interesting Ava. I checked my synastry with my impossible crush and... we have absolutely zero quintiles in synastry. I just checked my synastry with my (now ex) boyfriend and we have OVER TEN! I can't believe it. It makes sense though, we had a similar dynamic where we both delighted each other with strange insights. I think we both contributed quite a bit to each other's social strategies just by sharing some musings. I remember we both did one of those "escape room" dates once, naturally we picked the hardest room, and with both of our brains we got out of there in no time. The tightest quintile seems to be his Moon with my Mars Also his Saturn with my Sun This is so fun! Thanks for sharing this new astro.com feature |

Ava great deduction! P and his wife have his Mars-Jupiter biquintile her Mercury-Venus and his Uranus biquintile her Mercury-Venus, so her Mercury-Venus being the Apex of a Quintile Yod with his natal Mars-Jupiter // Uranus - quintile as the basis. I guess that must be really fun. additionally they also have: his Venus quintile her Sun his Neptune-Cupido biquintile her Cupido his Chiron biquintile her Juno Well Mars-Venus and Venus-Sun along with Uranus. They do have amazing 5th harmonic synastry. (I might get green with envy, but that doesn`t change the astrologer`s perception in me.  lol ) They also got married when Uranus was transiting her natal Mercury-Venus-conjunction, and hence it was biquintile his Mars-Jupiter-Uranus of course. I guess it is also fitting probably cause she has been working as actress, too, and so they might get each other on that level. Our DAvison has Sun quintile Psyche Moon quintile Mars Moon biquintile Neptune Moon quintile Ceres Mercury biquintile Uranus Mars biquintile Neptune Neptune quintile Ceres NN quintile Eros Pallas quintile Juno So Neptune is the Apex and midpoint of the Moon-Mars-quintile, Ceres is the Apex and midpoint of the Moon-Neptune-biquintile. At least the first one is a boomerang quintile-Yod, because Neptune is opposite Mercury-Jupiter, hence Mercury and Jupiter fall onto the Moon/Mars-mp as well. Well Jupiter = Moon/Mars is almsot 2 degrees, curiously enough Jupiter is more closely conjunct the Moon/Venus-mp.

I heard it being referred to as "Golden Yod" or "Quintile Yod" - but I guess we could call it just a quintile-triangle as well. I was not aware Tr Saturn was being exact conjunct my Venus today! lol (well probably even more exact yesterday? my Venus is on 6°08 Cap). also conjunct my pr Mars. The funny thing is that contrary to what you would believe I`ve been having quite much communication/conversations in the last two days, but that just happened out of nowwhere, and apparently attracted some attention, or just becoming aware of it. Granted, not from P. LOL But hey there are more people in this world than just this one man alone. |

Ava FruityLlama lumina Ah you guys are so damn sweet, thank you ❤❤❤ We'll see if things can get patched up. He has Saturn going over his Saturn/Sun/Moon stellium right now so he's depressed. In our "it's official" relationship composite, we have Mars RX, so fitting this is happening as Mars is stationing retrograde.. I love him but we'll see. I feel like the best move is to give him space right now (hopefully I'm not wrong with that assessment, it's just in my Aqua Moon nature to do so)

WRT quintiles, I was just thinking about Quintile synastry with some people and I was just thinking..I wonder if this aspect offers fluidity along with the textbook 'creativity'. I have some in my natal, notably between Venus-Neptune, Sun-ASC and jupiter, jup-ASC. It offers a lot of fluidity and angles of expression personally for me, and thats removed from any sensitivity that might be projected from my Cancer ASC and pisces undertones. Its more spontaneous and I think in synastry its like...forgive the demented simile but, olive oil or maybe butter or something!! LOLS I made bruschetta today with weird ingredients and I concluded that you can cover anything with olive oil and it just works! Or chocolate Or cheese Thats how I see quintiles  Will be back with aspects.

Ava , they did show up in the aspect tables before - but never on the chart wheel! Chart wheel cartwheel. I wanna say cartwheel. Cartwheeeeeeeel. Okay, done. So - in synastry, I love these! Very playful, flirty vibe. And just as effortless as the natal aspects. Smooth like the trines, but sparklier and more lively/dynamic. |

I think you are right about them being aspects other people can see and add colour to an otherwise languid complexion too. I think these are the aspects that get me nice compliments occasionally and I feel daft for saying it but I've been described as glamorous/'having a glow about me'. Must be sun and jupiter to the ASC I guess because Im really not firey or sunny at all haha. I dont know how you get a natural glow but Im glad I have one! Or maybe its just a really subtle way of telling me my make up is not hiding my oily skin as well as it should be haha
I like glamour though and I do like my Venus-Neptune quintile which is perhaps the only one I resonate with, but maybe its because my whole chart is proper girly...hmm youre right I'm not very good at feeling these aspects...
Still need to look into synastry, sorry its because I just love talking about myself haha ;P

My Uranus is quintile my husband's Mars I see. Not sure how to apply the reading above to this particular combination, beyond the physical (Mars). I guess my Uranus is relationship-oriented as all Scorpio placements are, and his Leo Mars likes attention as Leo placements do. My Uranus is exalted (not to brag) and I guess it's just fun to see how he rolls with my weirdness, especially when I am explicitly aiming to serve him and his sense of purpose by offering unusual perspectives, which he tends to embrace. There's a resonance where I can shock him, wake him up, make him see (sometimes). As that realization comes over him, he'll laugh. He often takes out his notebook as I'm talking and writes down what I say, repeating it to his co-workers as a joke, because it seems like such an apt summary to him. Leo planets tend to be creative and his Leo Mars creativity (talent) inspires me, sometimes shocks me pretty deeply, because I didn't know such things were even possible (like he built the most beautiful kitchen and never mentioned it to me until after we were married. How is it possible to DO that, first of all...the technical aspects of cabinet-making are pretty intriguing to my math mind...and how does one do that and not make a big deal about it, secondly?) Thanks for reading, if you did. Love your description of that quintile. I wish there were such a description for every quintile in synastry. *hint* *hint* Jewel Mayberry, if you're reading this.
Off the top of my head, the most prominent quintiles I've had in synastry are Venus-Mars and Moon-Mars.
Will try to mine my experience for some description of those.

Jupiter-Sun
Saturn-Moon
Pluto-Venus
Mercury-Venus bQ
Neptune-Sun bQ
Neptune-Mercury bQ
Well we make each other laugh a lot and if the quintiles are more about how others pick up on the relationship then I suppose I would say yes, we are perceived as a romantic couple I think. we are both creative with words and pet names (Mercury) and inspire learning about different aspects of life, since we come from different countries. I still feel our Mercury-Mercury square though so I don't think quintiles are a strong energy, for me anyway because we do have different perspectives on a lot of things. Even when we are on the same page, it sounds like we are disagreeing, but I suppose I can see through it- maybe with the help of these quintiles.
Saturn-moon is part of a DW and I think, overall this supports us and our belief (Neptune) that we love each other. We are very forgiving and we have a ton of Neptune stuff.

My moon is progressing into Scorpio so that's my excuse for even looking at this...but my ex and his ex have many quintiles in their composite, I just discovered the other day. I remember them laughing a lot, and they forgave a lot between each other. I'm no expert on their relationship but from what I heard, from both of them, there wasn't complete understanding, there was a significant gap, yet from the outside they seemed like two peas in a pod. So maybe quintiles were part of that -- giving off a lighthearted energy. I'm wondering if quintiles are an important factor in relationship longevity. I mean if you're not having fun together, what's the point? The quote I put in the OP talks about quintiles being creative...I think fun & creativity basically go hand-in-hand. Pls don't quote |

Hi Ava ! No worries, I've just read through the thread again and been cringing at my responses last year- I do apologise!! I agree about the light-heartedness. I'm not sure my partner and I are actually that good at forgiveness though. What tends to happen is that there is a big row and we will try and talk it through, but we will both end up giving up and just gloss over it later on. I'm sure that's not good but you can't flog a dead horse. I have a Jupiter-Mars DW quintile aspect going on with someone I admire- physically yes but also in terms of their views, philosophies, bravery sometimes as well and their career. I wouldn't imagine they would think the same about me, so I wonder if the DW is just hitting me twice! A hell yes to the fun part in a relationship! PErhaps quintiles is about how we express fun, creativity etc in a relationship. Perhaps in a venus-neptune quintile, the people would go to acting classes or some sort of creative hobby where they make things beatiful. A jupiter-mercury quintile couple would perhaps tease each other, or attend comedy nights...? Maybe its also about hobbies..? |
