I didn't mean to sound judgmental, I just feel like I couldn't handle the FB climate.

I didn't mean to sound judgmental, I just feel like I couldn't handle the FB climate. You didn't. A lot of people talk about facebook that way, now. I feel more stressed that I'm not interacting with everyone, and that they might think that I've unfollowed them. Or I worry that I'm commenting too much, and annoying people, or even posting too much or too little on my own page. It can feel like work, rather than a distraction. I'm so out of the habit of interacting through emails (regularly) that I don't always know how to talk to someone, unless I'm related to them, or I'm angry - then the words flow.

Yeah, I didn't think you sounded judgmental either, Ava. I know what you mean, anela. If I post something political (I go through phases), I'm usually responding to a litany of posts in my feed from many people who are really adamant and angry about something, and I eventually start responding to that. (Not you, by the way. Your posts don't bother me, because I don't find you overbearing, and you mix other content in there.) Anyway, it's sort of like the unbalanced Yang/masculine energy Faith and I were talking about in another thread (I'm waaayyy off track from the topic, sorry). When I open up Facebook and see a ton of angry, aggressive posts, it's difficult to not allow that energy to affect me! But I value so many people I stay in contact with through FB, and some of the relevant local information I can access through it, so it's good to keep it around. I wish there was a "hide all political posts" option, lol.

I can't resist commenting on the offensive memes they post - one is one of my older cousins, who insulted me last month, and then tried to stir things up on my page - and I resisted the bait. Partly because I knew what he was trying to do, and that tends to calm me down a bit. "You want to upset me. You want me to look like an idiot. Hmm..." I don't know why they bother. I can look like an idiot, all by myself. They should know by now, that if I think someone's trying to help me look that way, I won't let them. Unless I'm in the mood to go off.

Twitter is the same. How come its become cool and acceptable to talk/write to people like massive you-know-whats? I tend to laugh because it tends to be the ridiculous young people personalities who think they have a grasp of the real world and what empathy even is. Although older people have also been rude though. Gosh social media makes me want to live in a cave quite often haha

I swore at twitter themselves, a week ago, but that was because they showed me an ad for botox. I hate the targeted ads for my age group! Hate them. We didnt get that crap a few years ago - or I didn't.

You couldn't bribe me to get on Twitter, lol. At least on Facebook it's people I actually know (well, at least virtually if not in real life), unless it's a group page or something.
