FruityLlama asked what I do to prevent cancer. Thanks for your interest.
I've kind of built my whole lifestyle around this because it runs so strongly in my family (both parents and two brothers had cancer.) Underlining the key points........
* Most of all I try and
avoid too much stress. I try and listen to my body.
* I do take
turmeric and black pepper. I was drinking my turmeric and lemon morning drink when I read your question.
I load up on
antioxidants, natural enzymes, probiotics, and more, through my drinks.
- Usually drink at least a quart of
green tea each day, often with some
Ashwaganda tincture. I drink Rooibos for antioxidants, too. Dark chocolate and black coffee...yeah I definitely have too much caffeine, especially in winter. But at least there are some antioxidants.
- I drink a lot of
kombucha, and lately I bought cases of
Kevita (water kefir) at a discount store. Gut health is really important of course. They say we are only as healthy as our intestines.
-
Water-rich fruits like watermelon and grapefruit have high-quality hydration, or "water intelligence," that can be really healing to the body. I'm usually too lazy to actually juice, but I eat a lot of juicy fruits for that reason. It's quirky.
- Smoothies with superfood supplements like bee pollen, maca, raw honey. Apple cores, because the seeds have
laetrile in them. Goji berries, turmeric, ginger, organic lemon slice with peel....the peel has potent liver detoxifiers.
- Sometimes I get worried by certain symptoms and then I splurge on
Flor-Essence, based on the famous anti-cancer tea Essiac. It immediately makes me feel better. Same with Jason Winters Tea.
I avoid soda and sugary drinks for the most part.
* I use Ayurvedic principles to balance my digestion, someday I'll have to make a thread on that.
* Lots of vegetables. I love broccoli...of course all the
cruciferous vegetables are good, though some are hard to digest. I eat raw
kimchi, fermented spicy cabbage...raw sauerkraut is common in my summer salads. I adore zucchini. It's rich in natural sodium which feeds the joints and keeps them flexible. I can't digest many greens but I put chopped, fresh thin greens (arugula, watercress, cilantro, spinach) in my soups all the time.
* Who knows I may have cancer as I write, I may have failed, but I'm still upright with good energy most days.
When I had my blood analyzed under a microscope by a naturopath a few years ago, she told me that I had no markers for cancer, and she pointed out a "rim" around my cells. She said that was all comprised of antioxidants. She said that people with cancer don't have that rim. I said that I made it a point to consume a lot of antioxidants and she congratulated me for obviously succeeding in keeping that rim intact.
A friend of mine cured a large tumor with enzymes and antioxidants alone.
* I take
flax oil and cottage cheese, the so-called Budwig Protocol, quite a bit. Sometimes I take Hemp Oil instead of flax. And I eat a lot of mushrooms, especially
dried shiitake mushrooms in my soup. They help eliminate stagnant energy, along with burdock root (when I can get it) and daikon (clears out excess heavy proteins the settle in the pelvic area, I've read.)
My soup also has a lot of red pepper and cilantro (which helps detox heavy metals out of your system.)
Cayenne pepper, garlic, oregano.........my Italian grandmother put these spices on practically everything and lived almost to 90. I'm following her example.
Oregano oil is anti-viral and I take that as a supplement.
* I don't eat a lot of meat, can't digest it, low stomach acid. And I try and avoid polyamines. The more a meat is processed (chopped, frozen, microwaved) the more polyamines it has. I also don't even have a microwave.
* Supplements:
I love the supplement
serrapeptase, a super enzyme that de-clogs the body, breaks down waste material.
I don't have my official birth time, but my word-of-mouth birth time gives me a 6H sun. I have TONS of supplements and vitamins, even after making sure none are expired. It's a little crazy. I don't even like taking pills, but do take
Vitamin D faithfully, sometimes Cod Liver Oil, Milk Thistle, Selenium, other stuff as it matches my symptoms.

Yeah that was long and I still didn't even cover everything. What I SHOULD be doing, which I am NOT doing, is exercising more often. I'm thin just by diet alone, but I need to get on the treadmills to
oxygenate myself. I also do not avoid junk food. I still eat french fries and I'm a caffeine addict.
I don't like to feel like I can't just be a normal person, I don't like the feeling of limitation that brings, so I will still eat just about anything if I feel like it.
The common foods I avoid most religiously are white flour and hydrogenated oils. But then, cheap birthday cake from a box is one of my favorite foods.
