I watched this yesterday and feel like it explains my life so well: So grateful to have new clarity on why I am the way I am. Essentially he's saying that because we've experienced so many ups and downs in life, with our moods rising and falling suddenly, we're almost forced into a spiritual path, as it's the only thing that offers any relief. "If anyone needs to meditate, it's these people." Sharing for other 8H moons or the people dumbfounded by them/us. Also, looking for any observations regarding this moon placement. Cheers

Oh, that's Vedic of course...I assume many of you will recognize KRS.
My moon's in the 8th both in Western and Vedic, but I suppose it will not be that way for everyone.
Anyway, all comments regarding 8H moon welcome here, regardless of the system.

I like KRS, he has an entertaining personality (and I also appreciate the clarity in his aproach and communication of Vedic astrology).
Planets should be in the same house as in tropical, however only if we are using the same housesystem of course. I do think though that Vedic uses whole sign housesystems, and Western astrologers, except for some exceptions, usually don´t.

I do think though that Vedic uses whole sign housesystems, and Western astrologers, except for some exceptions, usually don´t. I think they do use whole house. Unlike the Western astrology that measures the longitude of a house from the exact ascendant-point in the sign rising in the east treated as its cusp, in Hindu astrology the entire sign is treated as a house irrespective of the ascendant-point in the sign rising in the east.[1] The standard Hindu convention is to treat the house and the sign of equal length.[2] It considers the twelve houses in the fixed Rasi-chakra (Zodiac), and is practically an "Equal-sign Equal house system".
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equal_house_system_(Hindu_astrology)I don't know, maybe not all Vedic astrologers do it the same way, but that's all I've seen so far. Do they even acknowledge Pluto? I'm really a novice. But my Pluto would move from the 3H to 4H. And my Mercury is in the 6H in Western, 7H in Vedic.

Traditional Vedic astrologers would use whole sign houses, sidereal and not consider Uranus, Neptune, Pluto or asteroids at all. But of course there has been some mixing/ changing/developing going on in Vedic astrology as well.

Wow. Just watched the first minute or so, and some of that rings very true for my dad. His mother was schizophrenic, and that...had a lot of very traumatic consequences for him and his siblings. However, I've noticed that his Libra stellium seems to argue logics against his desire to find spiritual meaning. This description also rings true for me having my Sun in 8th. Traumatic accidents, sudden events that I'll carry with me forever.
Anyway. Don't quote, please.

Violets ❤️ Thanks for sharing that. I haven't watched sun in the 8th, I probably won't, since two of my children are 8H suns, and I wouldn't be able to stand any gloom and doom about it. You know how Vedic can get. My mother probably had her ups and downs. She was exceedingly level-headed and optimistic, about 90% of the time. But I picked up on her serious concerns, even if she didn't say anything, her facial expressions sometimes made me really afraid for her, and yes, that could happen at any time. In some ways my 8H placement contradicts my Nakshatra, which involves the full-blown absence of the mother. Some sites say that this native (me) will cause the death of the mother, which is really just too hard to take. Why do they even say these things? I don't care if it's true sometimes, have compassion on the rest of us and don't say that.

Yeah, I don't care for the doom and gloom of that type of astrology, in whatever form it takes. That's just messed up.

I hate that, too. Along with articles out there, that I guess are aimed at getting people to spend more time together, but I saw something about spending more time with your mum equals her living longer - I saw that, not long after losing mine, and I got so pissed. It doesn't guarantee *anything*. An online friend lost her mother to cancer, two weeks after we lost mum, and that's not something they can blame on how much time they spent together, either. (And she and her mum adored each other.)

I don't mind it. 😁 They offer remedies. Which... Is better than not knowing at all... I think. 🤷♂️

I suppose I'll have to start looking into Vedic now... At least dip my toes in the water and see if it makes any sense to me. I don't watch YouTube astrology videos for whatever reason, and if an article reads too much like a text book I become easily bored and frustrated. Hence most of what I know I've learned from you guys, lol. And general observations.

I avoided it in the past, because it basically said my life was going to be crap after a certain age. Maybe I should have paid attention, but I can't be told all kinds of depressing things, and be fine.

Thanks for the conversation. I like Vedic, but there is some harshness in it that's hard to stomach. When I first learned Western, there were some upsetting revelations there, too. I just got used to it. Certain things are eerily correct about my Nakshatra. But yeah...blaming the kids when the parents die...I don't know what people are thinking. Nothing I guess.

*edit* 8th house-esque ramble I will say Kapiel is pretty progressive for a vedic astrologer. I booked two readings from him a couple years back and he never yammered on about the awfulness of my chart (I feel defensive about my vedic chart because so much of it is considered hideous as far as vedic standards go). He mentioned nothing but the positive things that could be possible. He seems like such a cool guy. Back to the original topic - I don't have Moon in the 8th but my chart ruler is in the 8th and I could relate to much of what he was saying! It's good information to have so I can understand how to better work with 8H/Scorpio Moons.

That wasn't astrology, I just thought of it as one of the brutal things I heard last year. Right after we lost her. I'm trying to remember the kind of reading I had done, that said all of these awful things, though. I just remember being really put off.

athenaGlad I caught that before your edit. I think it's really important to keep the whole cultural context in mind. My Sag planets are fascinated. And as Kapiel said, 8H moons feel most comfortable in emergency rooms and places where things are intense. So Vedic should be right up my alley. It's interesting that the reading also applies in your case, with chart ruler in the 8th. 👍

That is weird about the emergency room thing. When I work outside of my home, I work in places like detox centers, psychiatric settings where I may need to think and act very quickly, or dementia units where things also get hectic. I work with people who are living in another world and trying to get back to ours. I suppose a lot of people here know that about me already, but I found it interesting.
The 8th house is an interesting one. I have Jupiter there as well, and also in Pisces, so maybe the Sun/Jupiter intensifies that, I don't know.
Sorry to get off track about Moon placement, but it does seem applicable to some other ones...
Also please excuse my inability to make a post not about my placements. I think it just helps me understand things better in general in some way.

But... I am noticing similarities with people who have Sun in 8th or as athena mentioned, chart ruler. My Sun being my chart ruler, it makes sense. The other similarities I'm noticing are with Leo Suns in 8th. Hm. Well anyway, back to the Moon in 8th.

Hm. I just noticed that Candyland has her Leo Moon in 8th. If you see this thread, does the video ring true for you?
