Of course, Ava! It's funny that you ended up dating someone who was the exact inverse of you, in terms of the Sun/Ascendant combination. So, did you feel that ironic reverse effect happening if and when your Sun signs came out? Like when he warmed up to you and became more affectionate, did you become less sentimental and more in command of yourself? I think that's a perfect example of the Sun being more so what you learn about a person while the Ascendant is what you automatically know or gauge about them. I do get told or treated quite frequently like I don't care, like I'm bored with the people I'm with, etc. Either that or people treat me like I'm their new best friend. So, I definitely do lead with the Aquarius "coolness" in either sense, whether it's likable or throws people off-balance. But, the more you get to know me, the more you figure out how invested in people I get and how warm and passionate I can be. With my Sun being in the 7th, I think it often takes even more time to get to know that part of me, since the 7th House is what people close to you know about you. However, with the Sun being who I am, I think expressing my Leo traits makes people think they're closer to me than they really are or can make me think I'm closer to them than I really am. Confusing!

the89freespirit Thanks again for your observations. "So, did you feel that ironic reverse effect happening if and when your Sun signs came out? Like when he warmed up to you and became more affectionate, did you become less sentimental and more in command of yourself?" I laughed when I read that question because I could immediately think of so many examples. It was just hard to see his affection as coming from a genuine place, since he was critical...I couldn't shake all his complaints about me, you know Cap is like a negativity magnet, I couldn't let it go. And he couldn't understand why, just when he was putting his heart on his sleeve and singing me love songs, I couldn't just let loose and be in that moment. He was probably thinking, "So where is that friendly girl who goes along with everything, when we're in public?" It wasn't all bad. We were similar and sometimes it would all come together. I have some funny memories of times when he didn't want to deal with people, he would literally stand behind me like I was his bodyguard, even though he was much bigger than me...I guess he thought my vibes were more intense and better at warding people off (more Cap). Then, in a party environment (more Leo), I was always more like his sidekick; usually we were with his friends, doing what he wanted, it was his main show. "So, I definitely do lead with the Aquarius 'coolness' in either sense, whether it's likable or throws people off-balance." I think it would be interesting to have that energy and watch people's reactions, trying to predict which way they will go. "However, with the Sun being who I am, I think expressing my Leo traits makes people think they're closer to me than they really are or can make me think I'm closer to them than I really am. Confusing!" Hahaha...I can imagine. You're so engaging, people may not see where you disengage. Or they may not want to see it. In my experience most Leos do have a kind of "everlasting" quality about them, sometimes they show how immensely dedicated they can be right up front, which can be pretty seductive to anyone craving attention...Leos are experts at satisfying those needs. However, as you mentioned above, it's a two-way street, Leos need attention back. To me this exchange comes as naturally as breathing, thanks to my ASC. A few weeks ago, my Leo husband and I were driving around, and I asked for his opinion about something I was wearing, and he gave me a compliment. I said, "That's the right answer. I don't care whether you like it or not...some lies are mandatory." He laughed and repeats that line to me now and then. We know we're just trying to keep each other's spirits up. His Virgo energy and my Cap knows it can all be BS sometimes, but it's fun and feels good, so why not? The play's the thing.

AvaI do find it interesting when you discover that Capricorn caution that someone who has the Sun in this sign displays, especially if it is hidden behind a more outgoing, lighthearted, or available exterior. It's like, once you scratch the surface, many of them start holding back, in some way or another. I would think that if you initially give one a good reason to think that you don't like them or don't appreciate them enough, then that would be even truer. To a Leo Sun, who inevitably strives to connect on that more heart-based level, that kind of holding back can get confusing and then make them not feel appreciated enough. Both signs have that demand for appreciation and respect but it just comes out in very different ways. For Leo, it's about sharing the love and feeling special while for Capricorn, it's just simply knowing that they're respected and also knowing that such respect has to be earned, both ways. And yes, you're right. Flattery is a big thing with Leo. It's really said to be one of the easiest ways to spot Leo people and it's true because the response to flattery is very distinct. As you said, Leo knows how to play along. It's either a wildly amused/pleased reaction of "more, tell me more" or a very dignified yet knowing appreciation, like "yes, I'm used to hearing this and I'm just going to be gracious about it and say 'thank you'". There are the rare Leos who try and pull off the self-deprecating thing. Like, "No, you're wrong. I look awful." But, I've found that it's never entirely believable. It is also a dramatic way to respond to flattery, even if it's seemingly negative and discouraging. Deep down, they really love it but they may have convinced themselves that something is wrong with loving it. So, they try and go the other way. Flattery can also surround the Leo Sun in a very noticeable way, almost like a celebrity surrounded by adoring fans. People do get enamored with Leos very easily and intensely, which plays into what you said about others becoming so engaged with us. I've had people be unable to stop complimenting me on a regular basis, especially in romantic situations. It's like once they really start, they can't stop and it even overwhelms me, at times. After a while, I'm just thinking, "Alright, alright. I get it!" I think this could be a part of my Sun being in the 7th, as well. It's like I don't have to say a word of self-praise. Other people are always doing it for me.

I'm kind of fascinated by these people, I feel like calling them kids, even though they're over 21, who make money through this sort of thing. This guy started off five years ago, when he was eighteen, he's an Aquarius, and makes enough that he's bought his own house (I don't think this is his first), has paid for landscaping outside, for people to sort out whatever he needed inside, and so on. Meaning: he's doing very well for himself, and he's only 23.
This might be a way to see the different sun signs in action. I remember elsewhere, when someone asked people to post videos of themselves. I didn't do video, but I did post audio.
This girl is a Leo, and younger than I thought, 22 next month:
She has said that she paid for college by monetizing social media, and is now able to do the same for her siblings.
Capricorn. She was taking care of her dad before he died in April. Seems to be really sweet and considerate.
Her boyfriend is a Libra, SonyD. I was listening to another guy when I couldn't sleep, and this one was his wingman, trying to help him pick up a woman. She seemed more interested in this guy.
LadyDevann is either Pisces or Aries. She was all emotional and drunk the other night, when people were being so supportive of her after she was scammed by a moving company. She ended up getting pissed when they wouldn't stop doing something that activated text to speech, and said, "F**k you, I'm disabling it, so that I can keep telling you how much I love you, without being interrupted." LOL. Paraphrasing there, but that was the extent of it.
I don't watch much of this, unless I'm trying to fall asleep - it helps me to drop off.

@ursusblack, I have a lot of Sag Asc friends, and my husband as well (who is also my friend, lol). Not many of them have oval faces, honestly. The ones I know tend to have squarish or round faces. I've never understood that description regarding Sag Asc (sorry Ava, a little off track from Sun signs ❤). They do usually have a broader build, either top or bottom--but not always, as you said. I don't believe I look much like a stereotypical Pisces Sun, but I do have some physical trademarks of Leo Asc... However, my Asc is about 2 degrees from my dad's, and our Ascendants are conjunct his dad's Sun, so...genetics too, probably?

It's funny the way that genetics intertwine with astrology, too. @ursusblack, when I was younger I used to get a lot of comments that I looked like some obscure celebrities. Otherwise, people I wouldn't have recognized would (and do) pluck me out of a crowd and say hi after years of not seeing each other, regardless of how my hair or style had changed. I always found that odd, so I guess I must not look too much like anyone else, lol.

@ursusblack , I agree with you in the sense that getting too specific about the signs' physical appearance (whether it's the Sun or the Rising) is sometimes a mistake. There will always be cases that defy those exact physical descriptions for one reason or another. To me, it's more so about how a person carries themselves and the mannerisms and "aura" that they have, which inevitably does give them a certain kind of appearance. Like how Leo, in general, has a cat-like or feline appearance or physicality (I do always say that if I were an animal, I'd be a cat). But, it's a stretch to think that all Leos will have the same nose shape or jawline or whatever else. It's just about the vibe that someone is giving off, to me. However, there usually is a body part that the sign rules that, in the majority of cases, is distinctive, like Pisces and the feet. The Rising, in particular, can also say a lot about how a person's body functions, rather than how it specifically looks, which is why people often tie health issues to the Ascendant.

I could write a novel about my hideous Pisces feet. 😅

@ursusblack It's all good! I never mind when "my" threads get derailed, and it's nice to see you around. I also wish we could have some kind of statistical verification. I guess it could be done informally by looking at a set number of random celebrities of each sun sign, observing whether or not they have a certain trait, and determining the overall percentage for each sign. I just don't feel like doing that work. Maybe in the future. VioletsYou remind me of someone! I just can't think of who. Diane Lane maybe. Has anyone said her? I hope you don't mind the comparison, I think she is really pretty. the89freespiritThanks for these insights, though I know you were talking to ursusblack, I just read anyway.

I could write a novel about my hideous Pisces feet. 😅 OMG that would be so good! I've wanted to write a book about my eyebrows. Sometimes my daughter says they are "on point" and I'm like, "Do you have any idea of how much emotional baggage is centered on these eyebrows? Do you know what you just said??" hehehe I don't know the astrology of eyebrows. Whatever planet rules them, mine is badly afflicted. Each hair has a mind of its own and grows in a random direction.

Yes, I was hoping you would She's older than us, and I meant when she was younger! But I think she's aged well. Hmm that might go on topic... Aquarius sun women often age well. Diane Lane (as I was saying), Christie Brinkley, Jennifer Aniston, Ellen Degeneres and Portia DeRossi, Minnie Driver, Heather Graham. Christie Brinkley said she likes "high techy" approaches to dermatology, and it pays off. Heather Graham sleeps a LOT! beautyeditor.ca/2014/09/03/heather-graham-anti-agingI noticed several of these women don't have kids, so that might help them look younger (and sleep more). Ellen and Portia are vegans; Jennifer Aniston reportedly eats the same thing day after day. An unconventional approach, in each case.

I agree, lumina. I think your face looks oval as well. I have another Sag Asc friend who actually has a very oval-shaped face (and also the lovely Neptune/Asc eyes like yours), but all of the other ones I know seem rather squarish to me, I think.

Well my ASC is also a bit Neptunian, as you say, with Neptune conjunct it, and its ruler being in Pisces.
