Over the past couple years there have been a couple of times where i was in between being awake and asleep I saw a spider. When I sat up fully awake it wasnt there. I think its always the same spider. It is a little bigger than a normal house spider. I saw this a couple of times when i lived in my old house and this morning in my current one. I had to get up real early this morning and i thought i saw this spider in a lamp shade above me - there is no lamp shade there. When i was fully awake it was gone. I read somewhere spiders are associated with saturn, and they can show the creativity where we build our own web ie create our own path. For the past couple years saturn has been going through my 2nd house. I am noticing how different i am since it started. Iv never been afraid of spiders, they are just there. It was the same in these sleep states. I didnt feel fear there. I wonder if the spider is my totem. Iv not looked into this much tbh, i am travelling and was wondering on it on my commute. Do you believe in totem animal and/or do you know what one is yours? I read a nice article on the spider animal www.spiritanimal.info/spider-spirit-animal/Pls dont quote Thanks

Love this. I also have a fondness for spiders (barring the very dangerous ones), and I definitely believe in spirit or power animals. My shaman has said some interesting things about that (she's a legitimate shaman, and has studied all throughout North and South America). I'll be back in a bit to really respond.

Okay, I finally got my laptop running normally again, so I don't have to peck my response on my phone with my thumb, lol. Anyway, my shaman has seen some interesting spirit animals helping me during various periods while I've been working with her (over a year now), and they're all very applicable; she holds the belief that animal guides, or power animals, come into our lives sometimes to offer additional assistance with various lessons or things we're going through at the time. Some are with us as our guides, and I believe they possibly never leave, but I'm not sure. What she found when she looked into my stomach chakra once was that my chakra looked like a sun (the kind a child would draw, very bright and colorful), and inside the sun were two salmon swimming in opposite directions. She is not into astrology, and doesn't know that my rising sign is Leo, although she is aware that I'm a Pisces Sun, as our birthdays are a few days apart. But she didn't really put that together until I said "Oh, like the symbol for Pisces!" But it made sense to me anyway, as the salmon guides help us to swim against adversity and keep going despite the odds...a theme that has been pretty consistent in my life. At one point, when I had first moved back to my hometown last year after a twenty year absence (my mom and my extended family on her side all live here, and it's not a place I enjoyed much in my teen years)--she saw that a rattlesnake was helping me. Rattlesnakes specifically help us heal from our childhood wounds, which was very applicable at that time. Once, I was receiving some very potent energy healing from none other than our @astrokeen , and I saw a lion in my mind's eye, very clearly. I asked her if the lion was with her, and she said no, he/she must be with me. I still haven't looked up what lions do for us, but I absolutely believe in animal spirit guides. My husband had a session with my shaman once, and he kept seeing a bear while the healing was taking place. He asked her about it, and the bear is her spirit guide. So yes, I definitely believe that they are here, and they help us whether we are aware of them or not! But please don't quote, this is a bit sensitive for me. I enjoy talking about these things and sharing my experiences, but I want to be able to edit if I feel the need. <3

Thank you both for your inputs i will respond with a somewhat lengthy post when im back. The point about them coming into our lives for additional assistance rings true to me, as the positions they were in makes me think that was their advice to me - i will explain Thanks! pls dnt quote

Hey Both! Sorry for the late response. I think cats are very psychic and I do think they protect their owners. In the building where I live there is a cat who would stare at the area around me as if they can see something I can't, its just weird.
I really do think this spider was a guide, they create a web to capture the things they need. I guess it's a way of saying you make/contribute to the world you live in, if you want something you have to create it.
In my old house the previous couple of times i "saw" the spider was once they were on the window and then the other time they walked under a cabinet. At the time I was going through a not great time and i didn't go out very much. In hindsight I guess the spider was telling me to go out and create the things I want. If i hide in the dark(under the cabinet) I will just disappear like the spider did, go out and shine(I know that sounds so cheesy lol but I have no way to describe it).
The most recent time I saw the spider under a lampshade that didn't exist. I had been a bit anxious about a guy who was showing an interest in me, I didn't really want the attention to be honest. I think in this case it was still saying, you are in the spotlight you create your reality, or if you want something you can have it, you have created the web but you can also break it. I don't know, still thinking on that one. Its been an odd couple of weeks.
Pls dont quote my post I will edit them out.

I also think snakes have that healing quality too because they shed their skin, I guess like a transformation leaving behind the things that dont work anymore

Ooh, spot on about the snakes, vg. That is what they do in real life, and my shaman has called with me upon an archetype looked to by Native American shamans as the one who does just that. Shed the behaviors and situations, mindsets of the past that no longer serve our soul's highest good. In the Native American tradition, salmon are sacred as well (as are all animals and living things, I suspect). It does sound odd perhaps, but living in Seattle for so long, and in areas of the Pacific Northwest where salmon figure prominently on totem poles, it made good sense to me as well. I do love spiders, and try to only kill the really dangerous ones. They help, in my world, by mostly minding their own business and eating much more frustrating pests. Your experiences are interesting and cool! You sound like you're able to "know" what s/he is telling you. I'm curious to look up what spiders are supposed to represent as animal Guides, so I want to have a look when I have more time. Thank you for sharing that (and if you want me to delete any references here to your story just pm me or mention it).

A couple of weeks ago, I looked up turtles, after seeing two in the road that day. We couldn't stop to rescue the first one, but the second one, dad stopped and moved it into the grass.
I'm still scared if I see a snake outside (usually a grass snake, which I know are harmless) - I once saw one hanging out under a squash plant, but only after I focused on its face, and it got spooked, shooting off around the raised bed. Ten years ago, I started to become fascinated with snakes that were safely enclosed somewhere. I took a picture of one at the zoo, and I sometimes visit them in Petsmart.
I also leave spiders alone, usually. One fat one ran up the wall last night, and I just tried to ignore it. When I was younger, I would have avoided the room completely.
I used to dream of bears a lot. About thirteen years ago. I'm still wondering if I saw a small one a few weeks ago (or a very large beaver) when we walked the dogs down a trail, as it was close to getting dark. It came up out of the canal, and disappeared back into the trees next to it, whatever it was. The dogs wanted to go down there, once we reached the point where it had been. I thought it was a huge dog, and that's apparently what others have thought when they first saw a bear (I read a couple of comments last week, anyhow).

Thanks Violets! Anela, I thought about what you had said about snakes shedding their skin. I guess that relates to change/transformation. I think the majority of people would fear big transitions and changes, especially if they are unknown or not really under our control. We never know how the snake will react or where it will come out from when it is hiding, the snake can bite suddenly, they're quick. When they are safely enclosed, I guess we dont fear them as much as we are not expecting some unpredictable behaviour(kind of meaning like the change/transformation is more under control). I hope I made sense I tend to ramble a bit. I think snakes are quite elegant and beautiful, from a distance though, I would be afraid of being bitten. I have a good friend who is from a country that has one of the highest populations of snakes in the world. He often tells that I should visit one time with him when he goes. I told him about the snakes, he said they generally avoid areas where there are lots of people. So that put my mind at ease a bit there Pls dnt quote

I like snakes a lot as well. I'm only afraid of rattle snakes where I live locally. It's very hot here in the summer, and dry, but they usually give a warning if they hear you. But I see their beauty as well. As anela can attest, I have a love/hate thing going on with spiders, lol. We had some very dangerous ones where I lived for a while, so I had to go to war with that particular type, but all others I found quite beautiful and perfectly fine to leave alone. Bears... Hm, I just looked them up recently, because I had a dream where one was around in a Guide sort of way. I don't recall, though! I have a really great book on dreams and what we see in meditations, and there's a section dedicated to animals. It often matches up with descriptions of animals as our Guides. I know that spiders and snakes are usually good, depending on color, etc. The book is really old, and no longer in print, but it's a good one. Omg, I just woke up and I need coffee, hahaha. Pardon my babbling, lol.

I've been able to discern a Dolphin or Porpoise and a White Lion for myself, and recently assist 2 of my children with discovering their own animal guides. My daughter has a Great Horned Owl and my son a Bald Eagle. Being present and a part of the synchronicity involved when my children made their personal discoveries were some of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.
About Spiders, a Native American friend, carries a luck-spider in his pocket. He says when you come across the spider, it's an a-ha moment for both human and spider, because a spiritual connection is made and both parties agree, and the spider then brings favorable situations into your path as long as you're together. I share this because it helped me to see spiders in a different light than I up to then. I must admit that it was always most unfavorable, to the point of panic when we crossed paths.
I too, have seen a rather large spider upon first opening my eyes from sleeping, although it was always moving. I do not know what it means, although, I deeply suspect there is a meaning on the astral level.

I knew there was a thread on this somewhere...
Mine has recently been confirmed to be a deer, which is funny because throughout high school, some friends used to say that I looked like one or reminded them of one (it might have been down to my dancing at parties, to be fair). When I told mum she said it made a lot of sense. I am quite pleased with that though, they are lovely animals, but I don't know a lot about spirit animals or anything. If I were to choose for myself I'd say I resonate with sloths, magpies and obviously llamas, but there you go. I guess deer arent too far away from llamas..right?
I am terrified of spiders, but I do understand their symbolism in the human psyche thingy. I find that fascinating how humans have picked up on the subtle undercurrents of nature and applied it to themselves.

The symbology of Salmon is that of Wisdom and Inner Knowing. The Spirit of Salmon has a direct connection with source energy and will always return to its roots and place of creation. This is symbolic of finishing what you start despite the challenges faced and always doing what is right based on your gut knowledge. Salmon could also be reflecting the courage needed to start down a new path in life; one that might seem daunting and very challenging. Salmon's inner wisdom and knowing can not be thwarted by exterior events or influences that are faced along the way. Each bend in the river; each rapid crossed on the journey, is in fact what gives this creature so much wisdom. The wisdom of experience. Salmon has the courage to stay on its path, and in the flow with its inner knowing and sense of what is right. It's about having the courage to face the challenges of life, accepting every situation as a lesson and adventure for more wisdom. If you have the symbology of Salmon coming into your awareness then this could be a message to get back in touch with your true authentic self and inner knowing. Trust yourself! Have you been seeking approval from sources outside of your own source wisdom? Salmon might very well be representing a need to start trusting your instincts more and stop worrying about public opinion. Perhaps you have lost your way at this phase of your journey and Salmon may be reflecting a need to stop, go within for a bit and reflect on your life situation, your path, and where you are on that right now. Are you still heading in the direction of your life path that your inner knowing can feel is right? If you have become lost and not sure which route to take. Go back to where things got confusing and see if your intuition can lead you back in the flow. Don't let people manipulate you or keep you from doing what your gut is calling for. Salmon swimming upstream could be symbolic of life and people persuading you to do something against your intuition. Be sure to take in the opinions of others, truly listen to their ideas but ultimately come back home to self and make sure this fits with your own sense of what is right for you. If you are dealing with a difficult decision in life Salmon is reflecting a need to be honest and true with yourself. Are you avoiding taking action on something based on fears or judgments? Are you afraid of what is around the next bend if you start down this path? Salmon energy is about embracing every challenge and obstacle in life as lessons and a way for more wisdom...life is an adventure! Embrace the waves, riding them gracefully and with a sense of purpose and doing what you know is right while still remaining open to what others say. Every rapid in life is an opportunity to gain more soul wisdom. Be brave and accept the challenge. All the answers are within. Trust yourself! This is the symbology of Salmon. spiritsymbols.blogspot.com/2013/10/salmon.html

I haven't been sleeping well lately, and have had a couple time where i saw those spiders a couple times again. Not giant or anything, still normal to small size. I notice i see them if i've been going through a stressful time. I'm in between sleep and awake when i see them, i jump awake when i see them, not because im scared, its more to see if they are there. I dont feel fear in my waking life when i see spiders, they are just there.
I looked up the asteroid Archne(greek for spider - 407) and it's conjuncting my uranus/jupiter and therefore Draco Archne is conjunct my tropical mercury/square my nodes. Neptune is currently opposing my natal mercury...
I first started seeing these around the time when tr saturn was hitting my uranus/jupiter. I was going threw a not so nice time then. I think thats interesting
Pls dnt quote
