Disclaimer: I primarily read with Rider-Waite and do not use reversals
Does anyone else have experience with this?
For example, whenever I pull the Chariot, it does not manifest in a classic way for me at all. Whenever I pull it, something will fail. Whether it's a connection, a job application, an exam, or how the month ahead is going to go - the Chariot to me always means "this is not the venture for you and you will have to scrap this and start over"
Why is that?
Classically it's representative of Cancer.. it's said to be symbolic of victories. Why is it always so ill-dignified for me? Tbh I fear this card now to the point where I'd rather see Death or the Devil in a spread.
Are there cards that are kinda like this for you?

I stopped looking at conventional meanings and see what the pictures tell me too.
i can see how chariot can mean stop because the guy in my tarot deck looks like he is pulling the breaks or something, so it relates to control but i can see it relating to slowing down or stopping.
9 swords and 10 swords combo i think can actually be good. The ten is the end and so the end of anxiety etc...
pls dnt quote

Very interesting, athena. I can think of two reasons why you might be getting it. This is based on my experience of readings for me, where the outcome is not precisely as indicated by the cards. The cards spurred me to take action which in the end was to my benefit. They were, therefore, playing the role of a guide. Chariot denotes a positive transformation or victory of some sort. Could this be a message of reassurance in the face of a forthcoming challenge where you are being assurred that all will be well and a greater purpose is being served? Or, the challenges ahead are an important step in your transformation, an important lesson is being learnt, even if you can't see it that way. So the 'failure' is to be welcomed. I am wondering where your NN is and if the sabian might be illuminating. Which degree?

Or it may be as straightforward as what vg is suggesting .

vg - Yes, that does make total sense when you put it that way - the image. The is an eerie stillness to the card as opposed to wild movement in other cards such as the 8 of Wands or the Knight of Wands. There is an urgency in the latter, whereas in the former it's almost as if he's stopped his Chariot in front of you and is waiting for your move. Almost like I'm playing a bad game of chess. @astrokeen - That also does resonate for me too. Maybe it isn't a question of "what will the universe do for me" but "what will I do for the universe?". It might be calling on my own action instead of idly waiting for something to happen. Fascinating you relate it back to the NN because honestly, the Chariot pops up for questions that are extremely pivotal for my life development (which is why I'm so scared of it now - deeply important to me is not going to go as I hoped!) My NN is an 10 Aquarius and the sabian for it is: "A man of stature has been catapulted into ephemeral popularity and unspoiled he plans further achievements."So at least that has positive connotations in comparison to my readings for myself

athena , the mindfire site provides this text for 10 aqua: A man who had for a time become the embodiment of a popular ideal is made to realize that as a person he is not this ideal. Th key note is a critical need for self-revaluation. From another site: This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to recognize, or realize, when conditions are changing or when there’s a need to work on themselves. It can imply having the ‘scales fall from your eyes’ about someone; you may have thought the world of them and then they are not the person you thought. You could wake up realizing that you’re not who or what you said or thought you were. Relationships may be left behind. The revelation can be amazing, but it requires accurately assessing what is and what isn’t the “Ideal”. This may be of use.

Extremely interesting @astrokeen, thank you so much for taking the time to analyze this sabian for me. It really rings true. It's been a time of understanding my limitations, and as a result my perspective on myself as changed.
Uranus is currently inconjunct my ASC, and Saturn is inconjunct my Sun (both aspects under 3 degrees), so that may be what the Chariot is telling me. A change in direction, a halting of previous paths to tread..

I often feel The Chariot is a hint that one requires to establish authority. It is not a guaranteed victory, that would be more like the 6 of Wands. Chariot asks you to take control IME.

Thank you for this perspective Voix, it does make sense in the context of my readings. Perhaps more input on my part would have swayed things in my favor if I put myself out there more. In the aftermath of everything it seems The Chariot is waiting for the querent's final call before charging forward.

Strength tarot card has always meant closing a chapter, and saying farewell to a situation. Almost like readily walking away from it- after all, it does take strength of character to do that.
King of cups is the guy trouble maker/drama queen card.

A few more since I created this post: - The Emperor is not a "dream guy" like the Empress is a dream girl, the Emperor is someone who has taken a firm stance and refuses to budge. They put themselves first and are extremely self centered. They need to have control.
- Strength means holding back on something. Complete and utter self control, but selflessly so. Acting out on their emotions would ruin a good thing, so they repress their desires.
- Eight of Wands almost never is an all consuming desire to communicate, nor Cupid's Arrows, as many people say. Usually it's mundane communication, like work emails, or just lots of mental activity that may never manifest.

Wheel of Fortune = the fate is not on your side, but rather you're a pawn of fate, helpless

athenaThank you for the information about strength! I always get this card when I need to let go of something, because it will not happen. It is my personal challenge and takes a looooooooooooooot of strength to do so.

Interesting. For me Strength always Comes up as being bursting with Feelings of aliveness. Like the absolute lust for life. A very extrovert enthusiastic sort of passionateness. I never have it come up as a negative Card at all.

Chariot to me (if it’s a one card reading) is about keeping it tight, ready for shizzstorm ahead.
Cancer rules defense, and is a defensive sign.

Hermit - single guy with a past. 9 swords - intuition/looking inward(I cant think of the word, I guess like a reader who gets these feelings on something through their thoughts rather than visions)

vdsstrength is about taming the beast. Sometimes it means being patient. Sometimes it means let's not take action and get myself into troubles aka self control. There are usually conflicting feelings about the object inquired. So outcomes can be very murky.

But in position 3... 😱😱😱😂
