What exactly shows grandparents in ones Natal chart? I've read fifferent theories. Is it 4H, 9H or 10H or some other? Hmm, I don't know. Both of my grandfathers were Libra suns, falling in my 3H, and both grandmothers were Gemini suns, falling in my 11H. Paternal grandparents' composite sun: 9 Leo, on my rectified ASC Maternal grandparents' composite sun: 20 Leo, on my mother's sun, falling in my 1H

Thank you for your reply.
I have an interesting coincidence.
Me: - both of my grandmothers are Scorpio. My (rectified) Moon is in Scorpio. - grandfather Saggitarius falls in my 5H. grandfather Pisces falls in my 9H. Both Neptune and Jupiter aspect my Sun, widely.
My maternal grandparents composite Sun in 6H My paternal grandparents composite Sun, Mercury and possibly Moon, conjunct my rectified Moon in 5H. Their SN conj my Sun. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
My son: - grandmothers are Aqua and Scorpio. He has Aqua Moon 8H - grandfother Pisces-my son's Neptune and Jupiter also aspect his Sun. grandather Capricorn's Sun falls into 7H, Saturn on Dsc from 6H
Maternal grandparents composite Sun conj Moon (4), opposite my Sun (2). Their Mars is conj my (rectified) Asc.
Paternal grandparents composite Sun falls in his 5H
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, it seems like both me and my soms grandparents are represented in our Moon(grandmother) and Sun(grandfather)

I think Grandparents are derived from where your parents are in your natal chart.
So if your mother is your 10th house and your father is your 4th house, you can assume your mother's mother is your 7th house and your mother's father s your 1st house. Strangely, it will be the opposite for your father. Father's mother is 1st and father's father is 7th.
Then look at the ruler of your 1st and 7th and identify the sign+planet and see if what you know about them symbolizes them in anyway. House position is also important, because it will indicate what influence they have on you and also, which area of your life they will be able to help you with. (in theory).
----------
Because one chart alone is not enough evidence to determine your Grandparents, look at charts of your parents, siblings and children etc. and see if you notice any patterns appearing.
Sometimes your grandparents will have a planet of theirs aspect a planet of yours, and this will show what your relationship is like. Equally, if you have no aspects, check how your planets fall in theirs and theirs in yours to check for angular aspects.
Strangely, sometimes genes passed down your grandparents are not activated in your parents, but are activated in you. So this is why your parents have a different relationship with them.

I think it would make sense that it would be the 4th House because that represents your ancestors and the people in your family that came before you. Your grandparents definitely fall into that category and they are really the best representation of our ancestry. Our parents are technically our ancestors, as well, but they are a bit too close to us for us to see them that way. Your grandparents are older and there is this history that comes with them that you can learn a lot from. At the same time, they are not too distant from us, like our great-grandparents or great-great-grandparents. Most people know at least one of their grandparents. And there can be a stronger sense of "foundation" (4th House) that comes with them because the way they are tell you how your parents were raised and, subsequently, how you were raised. So, that gives you a deeper sense of your background. I'm not one to believe that the 4th House is either the mother or the father. I just think it represents general family ties.
In any case, I say this because I have an empty 4th House with Taurus on the cusp. I never knew my paternal grandfather as he died a few years before I was born. But, both of my grandmothers and my maternal grandfather all have their Sun in Taurus. Also, my father's mother's Sun is conjunct my Taurus Nadir and I've always gotten along with her the best out of my grandparents. It could just be me but I feel like there is a definite correlation there.

Such an interesting conversation. I love seeing patterns in family charts. My dad and son have their suns conjunct on my IC. Both have Scorpio Mercury, Libra Mars, Virgo Venus. edit Curiously both my grandfathers, my father, and my husband all have Sag Saturn. My draconic Saturn is in Sag, on my Venus-Neptune midpoint, conjunct most of those Saturns.

My maternal grandparents are a Gemini sun and Pisces sun respectively, so that's my 12th and 10th house. They have a lot of Cancer in their chart though which is my 1st house. I will try and figure out the method that sven555 mentioned but my head is a bit crazy right now haha

My grandparents' charts (the two I knew) are interesting to me, as we all share either the same or similar aspects.
My grandfather was an Aquarius, which is where my Dsc/Mercury is. My grandma was a Virgo, which is where my Moon is (2nd house).
My grandfather had Uranus/Mars/Sun conjunct in Aquarius, and I have Uranus on my IC square my Mars. He also had Pluto opposite Venus, which I also have.
My grandma had Mars/Sun opposite Uranus.
My mom has Uranus square Mars the same way that I do, out of sign.
This theme is pretty interesting to me, I have to say...
I didn't know my dad's parents. I only know that his mom was a Scorpio, which is where my IC and DNA asteroid are located.

Actually I'll add to that. I remember my dad's father had the same birthday as my dad's sister (my aunt), which places their Suns conjunct both mine and my dad's Asc. Interesting.

What I'm noticing, as I look very superficially at the charts of my family members, is that grandparents' Suns will often show up on any of the axes, or in the 1st, 4th, 7th, or 10th houses. My grandma and my mother in-law were/are both Virgos, their birthdays are three days apart. My mother in-law's Sun is exactly on my oldest son's IC, and my grandma's Sun/Mars is only about 3 degrees from his IC. Their Suns/Mars are conjunct our baby's MC/Venus/Mercury/Jupiter/NN in Virgo. My mom is a Cancer Sun, which is my oldest's Asc, so her Sun falls in his 1st house, her Moon in his 7th. My dad is a Libra Sun, which falls in my oldest's 4th house. And so on, I guess?

I've been thinking of my maternal grandmother a lot lately, sort of revising history.
My mother didn't get along with her mother, so I think I had an emotional wall up towards my grandmother, like, "I'm on my mother's side."
It's hard to explain because I did love my grandmother and have many happy memories with her. But it's as if I didn't really see her as my own flesh and blood.
Lately, I find myself talking about her more and more. "My grandmother used to cook it this way," and, "I'd only be able to do something like that at my grandmother's house." I deliberately put the same spices on my pizza that my grandmother used. I guess I'm just now starting to see myself as her granddaughter, in a meaningful way.
I don't know the reason but Saturn is currently affecting our charts, and transiting Jupiter's on our composite Saturn...bringing back long memories and traditions. Also our composite Mars in Cancer, transiting Mars in Cancer. Tr NN on my mother's sun.
Not sure what my point is except it's funny how experiences continue after a person is gone.
