Thanks again t5 ... the Moon and centre-circle (preventing it from being able to access the "source"/storehouse-of-soul-knowledge). So I, the moon, cannot access the source? That seems a serious handicap and glass ceiling in spiritual growth. Do the Hubers offer a remedy? your Small Learning Triangle might have been a mechanism for you to have explored - with your father - the facts/truth relating to "mother always refused to believe his (phenomenally wealthy and self-perceiving as powerful) family and their army of psychiatrists and fought them to the extent that everyone hated her". Oh well, that conversation never came close to happening. He never liked talking about his background which is one thing that really might have helped me put my experiences into context when I was young and vulnerable to the...drama...of it all. I was definitely damaged by it. It might be true to say that my great-grandfather is the single most influential person in my life, because of how he set the stage for the generations to follow. BUT ... if so ... note how the message/moral there might be 'don't give up too soon upon your need-to-know Uranus probing'. Thank you. I'll keep note of that.

Ava ... In The Cosmic Egg Timer, by Joyce Hopewell and Richard Llewellyn, the problem of blocked-off planets is referred to as "similar" to that of unaspected planets. ... And, unaspected planets "act independently and often unconsciously. They are not integrated into the chart as a whole, and therefore are not a fully integrated part of the personality". Thus, with planets that are hidden from the centre of the chart behind a number of aspect lines, "it can be difficult for the person to utilise, contact and become aware of the energies associated with that planet, and the field of experience of the corresponding house." This would be particularly likely if the direct aspects to that planet are few (and weak) - but that is NOT the case with either your Moon or Sun. For you, the suggested Huber remedy would be to use Mars (as a piggy-back) - because it has unfettered direct access to the source/centre-circle (via the opposition to Neptune), and strong direct aspects to both Sun and Moon. In effect, the Sun-Moon-Mars Learning Triangle in your natal UFO is flagging-up that "actively communicating with others (Mars in Gemini/11th) is the key to bringing into conscious awareness the unconscious motivations of your natal Sun and Moon". Did your father ever tell you directly that he did not want to talk about his background (after you actively asked him to do so), or did you never ask him to do so (because you sensed/knew-inutitively that he did not want to talk about it)? Yes. ... Mythological Jupiter/father : Mythological Saturn/Grandfather : Mythological Uranus/Great-Grandfather ... Astrological Jupiter at Low Point : Astrological Saturn in stress area (between Low Point and next house cusp) : Astrological Uranus in the power area (between cusp and Balance Point). Perhaps now is the time to consider the role of the Huber Moon Node Chart ... which "makes visible the shadow of our personality" BUT "does not specifically identify with any one experience from any previous incarnation".

That is so profound. Thank you for this. Well obviously I talk a lot. And I can see what you mean there, the part I put in bold. Quoting E.M. Forster, "How can I know what I think until I see what I say?"When I was younger I thought of writing books (I have that literature degree, after all.) But I don't feel like talking *at* people, I want to talk *with* people, so the internet has been fabulous. And I suppose it matches the Mars-Neptune opposition, to be talking with people I cannot see. Did your father ever tell you directly that he did not want to talk about his background (after you actively asked him to do so), or did you never ask him to do so (because you sensed/knew-inutitively that he did not want to talk about it)? It's both. edit Do I need to know anything beyond the fact that my father prized humanity above wealth and status? In a way it seems like everything else is just details.... Perhaps now is the time to consider the role of the Huber Moon Node Chart ... which "makes visible the shadow of our personality" BUT "does not specifically identify with any one experience from any previous incarnation". Sounds fantastic...kindly help me with that? I wouldn't even know how to begin. Thank you!!

Ava ... You "need to know" only if/how this past interaction with your father has conditioned your current behaviour. ... The longest aspect in your Mercury-Venus-Uranus Small Learning triangle is the red square - so the most important lesson there was/is to actively raise/explore things with others, and you did that with your father. ... However, Low Point Jupiter then used Neptune to create your belief that he did not WANT to talk about it (rather than not having the information/knowledge required to do so). And thus, Jupiter conditioned you to (respectfully) stop pursuing things that (disrespectful) Uranus is impelling you to explore further. The process starts with a right-brain look at the (Astro-com) Moon Node Chart ... noting the overall image you see in the aspect circle, and listing the house + sign location of Sun, Moon and Saturn in that chart and the Huber Style Natal Chart. (The natal and node charts need to be considered together, as do the natal and house charts.)

Thank you t5, I've appreciated your insights. On second thought I feel I've said too much about my life here in public and will be deleting much of this conversation, which has served its purpose. Also, will give others a chance to possibly post their charts and benefit from your expertise. All good wishes.

Ava (and all) ... My own Huber Moon Node Chart and Huber Style Natal Chart are posted below ... side-by-side and with the Node Chart on the left (as this is how placed, when looking at them together). ... I shall use these to explain the role of the Moon Node Chart. 01. We can see immediately that The Moon Node Chart is constructed/drawn with the natal North Node as its ascendant; the natal Ascendant as its North Node; Equal Houses ... and with the zodiac signs running clockwise, rather than anti-clockwise (as in the natal chart). 02. At this stage in exploring my Huber Charts, we would already have noted (the natal chart's) aspect image of a windsurfer steering his kite towards the Moon-Uranus conjunction; Mercury at the Low Point of 2nd house; the absence of planets in the "you"/western-hemisphere; the blocking of Saturn + Neptune + Venus from the source/centre-circle (by the Mercury-Pluto square); the weak-sign-but strong-house energy locations of Sun + Uranus + Jupiter; the stressed Venus + Mars; the direct access to the source/centre-circle of Moon + Mars + Jupiter + Uranus ... etc. 03. We would also have identified (from the house chart and Dynamical Evaluation Table) how this "where I am" natal-chart- nature is being impelled by house-chart- nurturing to move towards "where I am going to". ... And now, we want to explore the Moon Node Chart - for indicators of "where I am coming from" (i.e.. the subconscious desires of the shadow self that - until we become conscious of them - will create behavioural traits that we project onto others, because we are unable to embrace them in ourself). 04. Hence, the one-lifetime-only ego (t5 in my case) that is accompanying the eternal soul in its current lifetime/reincarnation may find that he/she is still not yet "ready" to bring his/her shadow self fully into conscious awareness ... unless/until the chart owner is able to embrace the belief that "the one-lifetime ego is not responsible for anything that happened in in the past lives of the soul that it is accompanying".

t5's MOON NODE CHART
01. The right-brain image I see in the aspect circle is "a (moon-mars-jupiter-saturn-uranus-nn) butterfly, prevented from reaching its Moon-Uranus target/destination - because it is trapped in a spider's web (of aspects from all other planets), with the spider having already begun to wrap it in a (Mercury-Pluto) thread."
02. In the natal chart, the (instinctively-driven) butterfly has become a (consciously-driven) windsurfer, with Mercury-Pluto anchoring him to the ground (thus preventing him from reaching his Moon-Uranus target/destination).
03. In both charts, the Moon is in 10th house ... But, Sun moves from MN 6th to Natal 3rd and Saturn moves from MN 8th to Natal 12th.
04. In the MN Chart, Moon is stressed; Saturn is at the highest energy point (conjunct a house cusp) and Sun is at a high energy point (between a cusp and balance point). ... However, in the Natal Chart, all 3 planets are in a high energy area.
05. In the MN Chart, only the Moon-Uranus conjunction is in the "I"/Eastern-Hemisphere of the chart. ... But all planets are (effectively) in the "I"/Eastern-Hemisphere of the Natal Chart.
WHY THE INSTINCT-DRIVEN BUTTERFLY HAS BECOME A REASON-DRIVEN PERSON
My t5 ego is uncomfortable with this ... because I can relate it to a (specific) past life, that was "identified" during a consultation with a Psychic/Medium some 27 years ago (and still evokes anger in me, because it resulted in a "wasted incarnation"). However, in terms of understanding my current lifetime shadow behaviour, it explains why my soul/"conscience" finds it difficult to accept the right of others to choose to NOT confront issues created by their instinctive/habitual/subconscious behavioural traits. So, here is the past-life story which emerged from that consultation :-
"This is a soul that, after countless reincarnations as a reclusive eastern monk, had reincarnated as a western male - with the purpose/intention of experiencing (for the first time) life as a husband, father and the son of wealthy/powerful parents. However, he was left standing at the altar (by a woman who eloped with the man she loved, rather than "marry someone to unite two already influential families"). That humiliation was too much for the ego of the jilted man to bear/live-with publicly ... So, he INSTINCTIVELY entered a western monastery where - after enduring many years of hardship and ill-treatment (from those who could see that "God did not intend him to be there"), he eventually succeeded in becoming a monk ... and a resident of that establishment for the rest of his life."
Thus, in the current incarnation, that soul has attempted to prevent another knee-jerk/instinctive "copping-out" escape by its one-lifetime accompanying ego ... by shifting the focus of natal Saturn away from the 8th house, and into the 12th house (of hidden psychological enemies).
MOON IN SAME HOUSE (10th) IN BOTH CHARTS
A planets in the same house of both the MN and Natal chart "can unstintedly draw on its resources. Its energy is not diverted to some other house as usually happens but is channeled direct from the unconscious to the conscious. As a rule, what we are dealing with is a mature ability, even though it does not always express itself in this house without complications." (From Moon Node Astrology, by Bruno and Louise Huber.)
However, the extent to which a chart owner can fully use this planet will depend upon his/her level of personal development/awareness. ... Thus, a (level 1) person who is 'grounded in the real/physical world' will be less able to use this planet effectively than will a (level 2) person that 'feels and freely expresses emotions' - and full use of the planet will be made only by (level 3) people/those who have learned to be 'mindfully detached from feelings/emotions'.
In my own case, I reached level 2 around the age of 26 ... whilst being managed in the workplace by a nice/kind/caring man whose inability to freely express his anger/frustration with others had already damaged his health. However, despite having tried hard to achieve level 3 in recent years, level 2 is still where I am at the age of 72+.
Moon Node Chart planets in houses 8, 9, 10 and 11 indicate past life experience of exercising power - respectively through judgeship, personal knowledge, high office and aristocratic status. ... So, my 10th house Moon is well-versed in past-life emotional conflicts - both as someone in a position of authority (such as the Abbot in a western Monastery) AND as a person without any authority at all (such as a novice in a western Monastery).
And the Hubers state that "people with 4/10 tension in the Moon-Node horoscope "are often allergic to power structures because these suppress their own desire for power. They cannot bear to be bossed about. Many know or suspect that in former lives they have misused power and possibly have been ruined by it; so now they would rather not possess it. Consequently, they often find themselves pushed into situations where - much to their chagrin - they have to do as they are told. If they recognise with the help of the Moon-Node horoscope that what they are doing is stifling their own lust for power, and if they accept it inwardly in a new way and try to integrate it, they can gradually master their fate and liberate themselves from external restraints." This is actually a very accurate description of "t5 in his career and workplace", so I have no difficulty in embracing it as a subconscious desire of my shadow-self. ... However, I am much less comfortable with recognising-and-embracing the past-life qualities assigned by the Hubers to Moon-Node horoscope planets in Cardinal Houses (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) :-
"In the area of life corresponding to the house placement, these people were able to do or not do whatever they liked. They learned the exercise of power and tried to come out on top in every situation. A striving for dominance, career-mindedness, hierarchic systems of rank, improved performance, and competitive behaviour are merely a few of the characteristics of this (will and might) cardinal cross. ...... One learned in former lives how to eliminate others and to seize control. In no circumstances did one tolerate interference or rivalry. One felt compelled to be the moving spirit behind everything, was able to be autonomous, and always desired to be the first and the best. Several lives have been spent in extending, defending and retaining influence and power in this house."
DISPLACEMENT OF SUN, FROM MN 6th TO NATAL 3rd HOUSE
The Hubers assert that, in the Moon-Node Chart, the Sun "indicates definite status, a degree of autonomy, and the exercise of power. In the house it occupies, self-awareness and a certain authority have been attained. The field has been won, and control has been established in this sphere of life. ...... There is no reliance on others, and any interference on their part is vigorously resisted."
And that Moon-Node-Chart planets in (mutable) 3rd/6th/9th/12th houses "are aiming to be pleasant, sensitive, well-educated and well-bred - to look good in the eyes of others" ... whilst those in the 2nd/6th/10th (Earth) houses indicate "the hardened materialist (2nd); those who use wealth to acquire power (10th) and people whose anxieties of everyday life can draw them into materialism (6th)".
So, my Moon-Node-Chart Sun in the (mutable Earth) 6th house is indicating a subconscious shadow-self desire to "look good in the eyes of others" AND to be financially secure. Hence, (taking into account the religious beliefs of the time in which he probably lived) we can see how this jilted-at-the-altar past-life ego could arrive at the knee-jerk conclusion that God was punishing him for "embracing the trappings of wealth" ... and he could redeem himself (or "look good in the eyes of Christ") by entering a Monastery - to live the rest of his life in poverty, service and obeying the will God without complaint. What is particularly interesting here though is how my NATAL CHART indicates the psychological damage inflicted by many years of that past-life ego 'obeying the will of God' (as a novice, resisting the attempts of others to make him aware that his Soul/God did not intend him to live his current life as a monk). ... Sun in Scorpio/3rd in mutual reception with Pluto in Leo/11th - with Pluto making a square to a Low-Point Scorpio/3rd house Mercury (which blocks the access to the source/centre-circle of Venus, Saturn and Neptune). ... So, t5 has been programmed (in the natal chart) to experience events that will reveal his "duty/obligation to listen, when the soul he is accompanying in this lifetime 'speaks to him' via others".
DISPLACEMENT OF SATURN, FROM MN 8th to NATAL HOUSE
Having (fixed earth) Virgo Saturn in the (fixed water) 8th house (and on the cusp of the mutable-fire 9th house) in the Moon-Node horoscope would have made it difficult (and perhaps impossible) for this jilted-at-the-altar ego to not seek the security offered by reverting to the familiar skills/patterns developed via the soul's many prior incarnations as an Eastern Monk. ... However, since doing so resulted in a "wasted incarnation, which created negative karma", the Soul has moved Saturn (in the natal chart of the current lifetime) to the 12th house of hidden enemies - and from its maximum house strength location (on the cusp). ... Thus reducing its influence/strength and highlighting it as a potential issue requiring attention from its accompanying ego (t5) in the present incarnation.
However, this shadow-self desire for the "security of the familiar" is so strong/ingrained in me that "career success" (rather than being a husband and father) was my focus until the age of 45. ... [Hence, in a consultation with a palm reader shortly after retiring from my career, he opened his reading with the words "Having been granted - and note that word GRANTED - your desire for power in a career, the lifeline indicates this is now the time for you to develop in different direction."]
