It's incredible how easily they went in... Agreed! It seems that the police simply haven't been taking threats by Trump's followers seriously. Wonder if it is due to a lack of coordination between the different police forces in DC. And where was the FBI? The Washington Post reported that several social media sites were being used to plan the event, even which weapons to carry were discussed. Why was no one paying attention! One thing that may come about because of this event is a change in consciousness amongst republicans who have been passively supporting Trump out of fear or a sense of misguided loyalty for their party. They clealy got to see what Trump represents - mayhem and violence. |

Pence had to call for them, because trump wouldn't (and then Trump said that he loved them - "we know your pain, we love you" - fuck that guy). |

It's incredible how easily they went in... Some police were over-run. The rest seemed to be fine with it. A friend of mine just said they were complicit. Anyone else would have been arrested outside, or shot. |

This has been all over social media for weeks, and trump told his rabid supporters to be there on January 6th. Armed protesters got away with this in Michigan, Ohio, Oregon..? So they would think they would get away with it in Washington D.C, too, since they had the support of the President. Most of them *did* get away with it, and were allowed to walk away, to just go home. A friend of mine lives close by, and she was determined to be there as a peaceful counter-protester. She really walks her talk, and she did just that yesterday, along with people in her neighbourhood, also continuing to help the homeless in the area, to make sure that they were okay. She was there when it happened, and called her parents, because she was afraid that a terrorist attack was unfolding (which really, it was). |
