Psychic protection...how does a person master this??

As you are already very intuitve and have a sense of how things would unfold, you would make a very good reader - but that too throws its own challenges when it comes to protection as readers tune into others. Many report feeling drained after readings: one never knows who one might be tapping into.

@astrokeen I've done readings for people when I was much younger, with some success (I think I was around 15, and would read for my parents' friends). But I'm actually not that fantastic with cards, or I became tired by them maybe. It's difficult for me to do objective readings for myself, so I tend to leave my cards mostly unbothered, heh.

I actually have questions for @intuitivefish, vg, and whisperix about shielding/psychic protection. Whisperix has already given me some good advice, and I'm asking you guys because I have noticed that you're much harder for me to get a "read" on, unlike most people who post here.

This may be due to limited interactions between us, or you all may be inherently reserved in how you communicate, but I also suspect that as intuitive and/or clairvoyant people, you have figured out what works for you as far as shielding yourselves from other energies (including 3rd house Pluto people like me, who just want to KNOW about people, although I don't mean to be invasive).

It has only been noticeable to me because compared to other people I encounter either on the internet, in person, over the phone, etc, you all sort of stand out as being "unnoticeable", for lack of a better word. I mean it as a compliment, because I would also like to learn how to protect my energy in a way that prevents energetic connections that I don't wish to have, if that makes sense.

Also, I apologize in advance if I've made an assumption and you're all simply quiet or reserved people, or if it's just due to sparse interaction between us. ❤

My only reason for asking is that I believe I can learn from you. I hope my questions are well received and not taken as intrusive, as that's not my intention. ❤

Also, I don't mean to say that you're unnoticeable as people, as you certainly aren't. I think what I mean to describe is that it's more like although you're perfectly noticeable and lovely to interact with, it's almost like you have an invisibility cloak around your actual energy that most people don't appear to have. I hope that makes sense.

I understand what you mean. Personally I am always delighted when someone sees me as the person that I am. I do not have Neptune conjunct an angle and therefore I can not help you with a thorough answer through astrology. To be open to energy and block it on the other may have something to do with the cloak you are serving through. I do serf in this ocean of energy as well and sometimes it happens that there is too much fog around. The thing that I do is to focus on the tower of light. It is the sun to me that gives me the energy and answer. In my mind I do think that the dark side will always be there and it is my decision how close it is.

I guess I did not answered your question on how to block energy, but I will wait what the other two will say.

No worries. I don't really believe I can be attacked by entities or spirits, I believe I have guides who also protect me from that. I also don't believe anyone can read me accurately without my permission.

I think i maybe am empathic as im sensitive to people's energies(emotions/anger/pain). Also I can get ungrounded if I read too much in a short space of time. When it comes to energy there are 3 particular situations that seem to affect me;
People who I am connected to emotionally
People in my vicinity(eg walking in a crowd, people I work with -especially at lunchtime everyday at work)
If I do too many readings in a short space of time
If it doesnt fall into any of the above and i dont think about it, then it doesnt seem to affect me.

Im not sure if this helps but my ways to keep me grounded and keep my energy levels up include:
-Walking(I walk everyday to work and back(30 mins each way and then a little walk at lunch), and I do long walks at weekends in a nature environment, I live near the sea, so when i do a seaside walk it is especially helpful )
-I try to be careful with the type of food I eat(I do eat things I shouldn't I like food - but highly processed foods I dont) and keep hydrated
-Music, I take some time everyday to listen to some music. It affects my mood.
-Spend sometime alone everyday
-limit the number of readings i do

I also have stones - tigers eye and black tourmaline.

I don't meditate or visualise because i don't enjoy it. Its not easy for me to sit and focus on it.

It could be a synastry/natal thing too I dont know - i have a Pluto ASC and Saturn is not that far away from it either.

I do remember reading somewhere on LL about mars trine neptune being a protective aspect too. I dont know enough on astrology to know why that would be or if it is true.

Tr Pluto is going through my 3rd house now. Capricorn isnt on any house cusps.

Maybe it IS a natal chart thing, like an ability that some people possess innately, while others have to learn it like anything else that doesn't come naturally?

I have very heavy Neptune in my chart, at the apex of both a T-square with both luminaries, as well as the apex of a small triangle (whatever those are called) with Pluto and Mercury. And, as a Pisces Sun, that's sort of a lot of Pisces/Neptune floating around there.

I've noticed that my husband doesn't need to work hard at all to keep himself shielded, although I don't believe that he's a difficult person to read, but he doesn't get attacked the way that I do (or as often, anyway). I also believe in the abilities of my Guides, angels, ascended and higher beings who protect me and help me with my energy, and I use stones every day when I lay down to rest or meditate, and while sleeping (black tourmaline being a favorite).

My brother in-law, however, with his likewise heavy Neptune (opposite Moon), is what I think would technically be referred to as a medium. He can't help it. Human spirits just sort of want his attention, and he's had this since he was born. He also has a very difficult time trying to keep them "out".

My husband (his brother), on the other hand, is a bit psychic/intuitive, has tremendous healing abilities, and has a very strong shield. His only issues with Neptune are an opposition to his Saturn, and a square to his Mercury. I believe it's conjunct his Jupiter from 12th to 11th houses, but he has a much easier time protecting his energy than his brother and I do. His Neptune is also sextile his Moon, while his brother and I have hard aspects to ours.

My eating habits aren't much worse than my husband's, so although I was going to contemplate that (and I'm sure that health eating habits absolutely add great benefit to our spiritual well-being), it doesn't seem to factor in for some people. But then, my husband is not nearly as sensitive to the energies around him as I am.

So maybe some people just need to work more diligently at protecting themselves, and for others perhaps it comes more naturally...?

Don't mind me rambling, lol. I'm obviously trying to figure out how I can go about this, so I'm literally thinking out loud while I type a lot in this thread!

Also (just to clarify), I'm not as concerned about people "scanning" my energy as I am just being the obnoxious stereotype of Pisces/Neptune people as "sponges" for their environment (my Earth placements really dislike that stereotype, hahaha). While I do prefer energetic privacy, it's more of an attempt to keep the energies out there from glomming onto me. Eh.

Perhaps you could learn how to absolve these negative energies that you so often encounter. By that I mean, instead of just blocking, or inadvertently sponging them up, there could be a third option. Be a conduit for the Pure White Light to absolve the negativity back into itself so as to be purified and released back into the universe as positive or neutral or however that works. Perhaps, as an empath, as I am sure you are, your mantle is one of assistance as well. The technique would surely be unique to your self and would have to be perfected, I would suggest starting off with some really good grounding, and build from there.

Candyland, I do grounding and shielding meditations every day when I'm in a good space. But you know, I can carry a lot of my own crap energy that has to be released before that light really starts flowing beautifully. When it does, I'm definitely capable of healing. It's just getting to that point, and maintaining it despite the normal stressors and annoyances of life and other people.

What usually works for me , and being so simple, I use it everyday sometimes more; I say to myself while visualizing, " I am surrounded by the Pure White Light (of the Holy spirit)". You could omit the last part or not, it really doesn't make a difference. I understand that negative energy seems to glom onto you pretty intensely, but I thought I would share my practice.

I like that. Since I posted this thread and a few others, I've been incorporating some simple stuff like that into my daily prayers. Asking my Guardian Angel to be present with me to help clear out negativity...that's been helpful, too. I'm in the midst of getting rid of some really unpleasant energy that's been difficult to release due to stress and obnoxious transits, and simple is helpful.
