Hey,
what cards and combinations would indicate for you that someone has a secret crush on someone?
Just today i asked if a girl has a crush on someone: hermit, knight of cups and 8 of swords. I was thinking that she is, but she doesn't know how to deal with it?
What would you suggest? I mean what cards and combinations would be revealing that someone is secretly in love?

Hey enneline Cups are emotional they may all play a part especially if talking on how two people feel about each other, but i think when asking on one particular persons thoughts/feelings on another(depends on surrounding cards of course).... I see the 3 cups as a card where you can't get someone out of your head. The imagery shows 3 identical people dancing in a circle, in the case of questions such as "does X like me" I would sometimes interpret the 3 people as one person, there is thoughts of that person spinning(dancing in the circle) in their head all the time. 3 cups is related to the 3 hearts in cartomancy and some see that as an obsessive card in cartomancy as well. 3 is not a large number so not deep feelings of love, more a crush. Devil - can't get the person out of your head. Devil card shows two people in chains. Hermit - hiding behind the robe and having a torch light, they have their eye on you but you can't see them I've never really seen the lovers as a romantic card in itself but i think it can show someone who wants to take action but is waiting for the right moment(cupid pointing the arrow but it hasn't fired it yet) 9 swords - you can't get the person out of your head, you're thinking of them just before you fall asleep. Even though its a Gemini card the imagery in my deck also shows the scales of libra(relationship sign) on the bedsheets 6 swords - wants to move forward with the person. 9 cups - emotional wants(though emotional wants doesnt always necessarily mean they want to be with the person - depends on surrounding cards) 9 pentacles - one pentacle is missing to complete the set of 10 pentacles ie they are missing the person or they think that person would "complete" them knight of cups pls dnt quote

enneline yes, I would agree with your interpretation. Page of Cups can be very crush-y. and hermit, 8 of swords, being secretive about it and obesesively thinking, though sometimes being overly worried/ anxious. Personally I sometimes see the 7 of cups in that light (but it depends on the other cards), and the 7 of swords and Moon can sometimes be like this, too; however probably not the most healthiest crush-scenarios. LOL The Moon makes you crazy, the 7 of cups is not really reality-based, and all of them have that secretive, sneaky vibe, sometimes maybe crushing on someone you shouldnt. Page of Cups is very straightforward as a crush-card I think. those heartflutter feelings, you know the cartoon images where the big red heart is basically threatening to break out of the chest of the cartoon character? That is sometimes how I see the Page of Cups. (unlike the Knight, he might not really take action however). (BTW why are there condoms suggested as advertisement to me beneath this box I am writing in? LOL Sorry that is off topic).

vg and luminathank you both and i really agree with both of you lumina why does the knight of cups not take action really? i always thought a guy on a horse is moving regarding the cards i pulled: my friend said it might be in the past. Hermit tries to look for opportunities and then the knight tries to approach but the recipient is too blind to see the advances. And yes: 7 of swords is definitely an indicator of someone who hides something but i always think so bad of that card and would rather think of cheating

Sometimes I think that the 7 swords gets an unfair reputation as being negative. If I asked the tarot "Is X cheating on me" and 7 swords popped up it could be interpreted as a no and that the querent should be more trusting.
Also in terms of a crush, the guy running away carrying the 7 swords in their hand....swords are thoughts...so getting carried away with their thoughts. Though I agree it could be cheating as well- it could also be that they are thinking of you when they shouldn't be(eg they are involved with someone else). But i dont always see this card as cheating.

I agree vg about 7oS in context as it could indicate "having ones heart stolen". I've seen all the cards mentioned in terms of having a crush, with the addition of the page or knight of wands and the empress, although this card can represent someone being in awe of their object of affection.
