My veggie garden is finally taking off! It was such a cold wet spring coupled with the shut downs, I had a very late start.
I wasn't able to plant the usual but am happy with my shortfall. Beans, tomatos, kale and potatos all thriving with some other plants lagging.
Great asparagus and lettus season too. I was able to freeze plenty of a asparagus for later.
With all the recent events and late starts, what are you growing and how is it doing?

justjuni, that sounds fantastic. I didn't bother this year apart from tomatoes as tomato plants could be bought in some supermarkets. I have fruit trees though - apples, pears and blueberries. The blueberry tree is a standard, positioned amongst the flowers next to a raised patio. I can sit on the patio and pluck blueberries off. Would love to see pictures of your vegetable beds.

justjuni , moved thread. Here's a picture of my little blueberry tree. Used canes to keep the net aloft so that the birds don't eat them before I do. You can see a corner of my patio.

I only just got some things planted, so I don't know how well they will do.

Mmmm, blueberries. I have a beautiful heirloom tomato plant (German Queen) in a patio pot. I have a Music of the Spheres wind chime next to her to entertain and encourage her. I took a nice pic but I dont know how to add it to post. Help? It's so rainy and muddy out for garden pics. When it's cleared up, I will.

justjuni , if the file size is too big, you need to open the photo in photoshop or iphoto or whichever software your computer might have. Then export it to your desktop. It will ask you to choose picture size or quality. Generally, choose medium and when you export it, the file size will be greatly reduced. it is best to experiment first to check if the quality of the photo is still good.

Our garden is pretty simple/humble... Butternut squash, zucchini, broccoli, watermelon, beets, radishes, corn, peas, cucumbers. That is my husband's creation, we just eat from it. Speaking of me not doing work, here are our perennial irises:

Things I've been making with my 40 zucchinis (and counting) so far...
1. Zucchini muffins 2. Vegan zucchini brownies (cooling now) 3. Roasted vegetables including zucchini, onion, cherry tomatoes, red pepper, seasoning...that was my husband's lunch. 4. Zucchini puree soup (in process...better than it sounds) 5. Bean salad with diced zucchini 6. Ratatouille 7. Grilled zucchini spears dipped in leftover ratatouille sauce 8. Raw zucchini slices to eat with ranch dressing 9. Blanched zucchini slices, processed and frozen
Later today we will spiralize some, I have to make a good sauce for those...
Am I missing anything?
Anyone have zucchini ideas?

justjuni I found this nest in the window of my bedroom (that I haven't slept in for years). Do you know what kind it might be? It's pitch black out there. I opened the window, to air out the room, and then noticed this.

My garden also has tomatoes, cucumbers, lots of greens. Also, greens grow at home, on the windowsill. I like it so much that you can always use light greens for dishes, it's very cool. When everything grows, I will take a photo.
