Just wondering what in your opinion gives different characteristics to the voice?
What aspect/placement gives someone an alluring, seductive, authorative, babygirl, hypnotising or any other voice you think of?
Did you meat anyone with the voice that matched or didn't match their chart?

I'm not sure. We could try recording our own voices at some point, posting to see, if anyone is comfortable with that. I don't like my own voice, and it can be different, obviously, depending on mood, stress level/excitement level, or if I'm talking a lot, versus focusing more, like when someone has a "phone voice". People loved my mother's voice. One man who hired her, asked her to record the message on the business answering machine.
I recorded a message to send to the Taurus on his birthday. I can't remember exactly what he said, but he loves my voice, for some reason. I don't know if synastry would be involved in that.

Wow, lovely minceymouse . I'd say you sound straightforward (Aries moon conjunct ASC), confident and sophisticated (Mercury trine Pluto), and refined/sensitive (12H stellium, Pisces planets). Edit - Choosing to read a selection on a serious topic is inventive and in keeping with Cap Uranus on the MC.

Interesting topic, we were actually talking about voices today in regards to our sun.
I always thought that Alan Rickman had a beautiful voice. Looking at his info it seems he had venus in pisces conjunct Mercury and his sun(might be a bit wide with the sun tho).
I'm quite softly spoken, I dont have a deep voice. I have libra ASC mercury in virgo, squaring my nodes. Saggitarius is my 3rd house cusp and the whole of capricorn is in my 3rd house.
I have lived abroad and my accent seems to change over time(not intentionally) and is influenced alot by where i live and who i spend most time with. I know a few people like this and they have a heavy mutable in their chart(one lady is a virgo i dont the rest of her chart, my ex had a sag stellium which included mercury in Sag and when he talks parts of his accent has changed since he time he was with me when he says certain words). For me - my gemini moon is in the 9th. You can kind tell where i am from but you can also tell i haven't lived at my home town for a long time.
I think aspects that indicate shyness/confidence etc would also have impact on the voice. Maybe a more commanding voice would have some aspect to mars or jupiter too.
Sorry for rambling.
Pls dnt quote

vg - I do not think it's an isolated case to have accents change over a period of time. I wonder what aspect makes accents changes from chatting person to person (e.g. my accent changes when talking with different people from different countries and cultures. I know a number of people with similar backgrounds to me who do the same). A co-worker saw the way I talk to my boss compared to him and freaked out because I sound very different (apparently I reflect the way each talk - speak to me in broken English? I will do the same). lumina & Ava - thank you.

minceymouse - dont know what aspects but the people who I know this happens with have many mutable placements in their chart.

I wonder if water energy also picks up accents. My triple Cancer sister (sun-moon-Mercury) is the most striking case of this I've witnessed. When she moved to another city she adopted their accent, when she moved in with people from another country, she had their accent even though she was still in America. I think she even has echolalia. Whatever she's got, there are positive benefits, like she has an ear for music and composition, she could hear music and replicate it on the piano, playing by ear, and not just simple tunes (she went to college on a hard-won piano scholarship).
When she and I were stranded in an airport in Paris overnight, the native speakers there (homeless) were laughing that her French was better than mine even though she'd never taken French and I'd been studying it for two years. Mainly it's because she nailed the accent.
Anyway, that's her. And then my daughter, Scorpio sun and Venus, has a truly uncanny knack for memorizing song lyrics, even in other languages, when she's singing along it sounds like she knows what she is talking about. So she struggled through French class but can sing long songs in French (not even knowing what she's saying).
But maybe it's also the mutable thing because my sister's Cancer planets move to Gemini in draconic (conjunct my daughter's natal moon-NN) and my daughter's a draconic Virgo.
Hmmm
Pls don't quote

vg "I think aspects that indicate shyness/confidence etc would also have impact on the voice. Maybe a more commanding voice would have some aspect to mars or jupiter too." I agree. Despite me having Mercury in 1H, it's not in the most confident sign (Virgo), my Sun is also in a 12H and Saturn in 3H. I can be quite shy to express myself having a fear of sounding stupid and end up talking quietly. As for Mutual signs being able to adapt to the accents... Sadly, it's not in my case. I've 6 planets and 2 angles in Mutual signs, and even though I speak 3 languages from 3 different language groups, and understand a few more on touristy level, my accents are all over the place. I've lived in 4 countries, 5 cities, and through my travels, I've been mistaken for a French, Swedish, German, Finnish, Polish, other Easter-Europeans, even South African... See, my husband also has a mixed accent, so we kinda feed off each other, haha Oh yeah, vg I find Alan's voice pleasant as well. Is it me or do many Gemini women have kinda husky voices?

midnight - thats what i meant with my comment on picking up accents - mine is also rather mixed - people cannot tell where i am from unless i say certain sounding words. I used to live in central Europe and can get mistaken at time from being from that part of the world. I dont mind my accent being a bit mixed, though what annoys me about it is the "oh really? your from there...I just couldn't get the accent" or "your accent is a bit muddled" comments. When i was younger i hated the sound of my voice generally especially on a recording. We have similar things going on in our chart- I have saturn in the 1st a bit widely conjunct my ascendant, capricorn is completley in my 3rd, my sun is on the 11th/12th cusp, also have mercury in virgo. I have my chart ruler conjunct mars in the 10th in leo - even with that, I dont like having to do public speaking or anything that involves talking to an audience - i hate the thought of saying something that's incorrect, im ok once people know me well eg in team meetings i can talk alot. One thing i will also say sometimes if i dont say much people mistake it for shyness - its not always the case, sometimes i just dont have anything to say, I dont really do tiny talk. Sorry i think i've turned my post into a rant. Alan Rickman had a lovely voice Liam Neeson is a Gemini i believe - i watched an interview he had, and his accent is also a little bit mixed - not very noticeable to be honest just a little bit - just when he was saying certain words such as the word "that". Maybe its just me noticing that though. pls dnt quote

I might try recording my voice later. I don't like mine, and I'm feeling anxious at the moment, so that will affect it.
Back in 1995, when we'd moved back to Ohio, we were talking to my cousin Andrew (on more than one phone). We all still had/have our English accents, but he said, "Wow, you've really picked up the [American] accent!" We looked at each other, confused. I think he was referring more to, not slang, but just different words. although there have been a few times when I've sounded Australian. For the most part, whenever I picked up the phone to a stranger, their voices would change a bit once I spoke, and eventually we'd get to, "Is that an English accent?"
I still get teased about the way I say "What?" as well. Like Wot.

voca.ro/eZ4rqvkj9a3Okay, I don’t know if this worked, or if what I said is legible, because I won’t listen to it. It will sound tight/constrained, because I’m anxious, and I tried recording this twelve times. I usually only do this kind of thing when I feel good. Anyway, this is how I sound when I’m writing those posts, I guess. Frothing-at-the-mouth Democrat. My head isn’t going to pop off any time soon, but it might if trump is re-elected. Aries sun, Gemini moon/Venus, mars in Pisces, Scorpio ascendant conjunct Uranus. Mercury in Aries, conjunct Ceres/Chiron/sun, also widely square Saturn, and trine my MC. I might delete this. Maybe I should wait until I feel better.

Nice to hear you too, anela You sound a bit like my friend, who also has Aries Sun/Gem Moon with Pisces Venus and Mercury. You have a softer English accent and a very gentle voice. Btw, I love the WOT My Aries friend was born in Canada, but grew up in Taiwan and then South Africa, before moving to Ireland, so her accent and slang is really mixed, with SA one being dominant (I loooove SA accent)

vg Yeah, we have some similar themes in our charts. I used to hate doing presentations. I would forget the words even, despite knowing my speech after rehearsing it a countless number of times. I'm ok in a company of people I know well. Liam Neeson has a nice mixture of American and Irish accent

I’m enjoying listening to other people’s voices (now “Other Voices” by The Cure popped into my head 😂), but I don’t have much insight to add.

Love your voice anela ! I think your Aries Mercury is evident, I mean right away you are talking about courage, and that fits, but also your tone is persuasive. I think your ASC trine Pisces Mars is evident because of the soft tones. I forget if your moon is angular but moon-Venus gentleness again....and then the kind of variability and flexibility with tones and topics matches ASC-Uranus. Hope you don't mind me referring to your chart. === midnight "I loooove SA accent" Ha...yeah that is part of my minor crush on Elon Musk. But then I also think it's adorable that he stutters, falters, and cries (my moon trine his Cancer Mercury)...then he just comes out with brilliant stuff anyway.

Nice voices minceymouse and anela ! My accent is from the north of England so I definitely have the WOT thing going on haha, plus my glottal stopping which is characteristic of the region I come from. For example, "water" becomes "war-uh", or "bottle"-> "boh-ul"! Not sure I can add much astrologically except to say that I tried to do a bit of a study on this when I was doing linguistics and whether there were any astrological markers for people whose accent changes over time, vs those who didn't. I was starting to see a pattern for those who changed having a cardinal mercury, or influence. However, not enough data to say for sure. And all accents change slightly over time anyway, even the Queen's has! Mine's gone from being a little broad northern to more refined. I've never pronounced my <o> as /or/ though, like people would where I'm from. I say <oh> like the slovenly princess I am LOL. I'd post a sample but I sound incredibly nasal on recordings for some reason. I'm pretty good at imitating accents though- Mercury trine (Cap-->cardinal) Neptune maybe?

Came across this thread and it made me think. People have commented that my voice sounds croaky. I think having Mercury in Aquarius makes my voice sound very eccentric; I feel like I don't sound like anyone else (sometimes I feel like I sound like Peridot from Steven Universe lol). Some of you have heard me in previous YouTube videos but I feel like my voice has changed since then. Here is a clip of me currently if you choose to listen: drive.google.com/file/d/1gPih8exKWtSr5VAJlRvkyA5gU86AiMXx/view?usp=sharingminceymouse You're voice definitely has that Aries quality to it of being pronounced, getting someone's attention, but as you read the script I would also say your voice is emotionally evocative like your Pisces Mercury; reading the script made you sound very poetic like there is a story being weaved, telling a story with few words is the kind of impression I get. anela You also have that distinctive Aries Mercury quality to your voice. Every Aries Mercury I've known has this very confident tone in their voice, even if they may not be very confident in themselves. You convey yourself very well and very directly; there is not much hidden meaning behind what you say because you say what you mean.
