Was having a rather... interesting dreamexperience this morning, so been wondering about maybe some 7th harmonic transits. Just felt the 7th harmonic might be applicable, as it was a dream-experience. this was the transit chart of today

Well, there was:
Tr Venus-Chiron on my Uranus Tr Uranus on my Pluto (opposing my New Moon, though the orb is a bit wide) Tr Neptune on my ASC Tr Node widely on my ASC as well Tr Mars-Saturn on my NN
well while there are some interesting things, not really what I would have expected, and the Neptune-transit while valid, well I`d like to see a closer orb. it is still fine with 4 degrees, but just not really all that mindblowing I guess. the strongest really seem to be Venus-Chiron on my Uranus and Mars-Saturn on my NN, not really the stuff dreams should be made of right?
Interestingly the transits seemed to have targeted P`s 7th harmonic chart more strongly.
Tr Venus-Chiron on his Jupiter on 11 Taurus Tr Sun on his MC on 18 Gemini (1 degree orb) Tr Sun on his Moon on 20 Gemini (3 degree orb) - now that is an interesting one, means the transiting Sun was in a 7th harmonic aspect to his natal Moon within less than half a degree
Tr Uranus opposing his Sun on 8 Gemini (3 degree) Tr Mercury opposing his Sun on 8 Gemini (2 eegrees) Tr Moon opposing his Sun on 8 Gemini (4 degrees) Tr Moon on his IC on 18 Sag (just in orb, but well it was angular).
Tr Jupiter on his IC on 18 Sag (2 degrees) and opposig his Moon on 20 Gemini exact Tr Pallas on his IC (4 degrees) and opposing his Moon (2 degrees) Tr Pluto on his IC (5 degrees) and opposing his Moon (3 degrees)
Tr Mars-Saturn on his MErcury on 5 Aqua
Now I guess his dream life might have been even more active as compared to mine then. lol

I was curious about the composite or the 7th harmonic of our composite, so I casted a chart of that (with a different software). First of all the basic 7t harmonic of our composite looks like this: ASC 09 Aquarius (floating MC 26 Leo) Sun 5 Gemini (same placement as Draconic composite Sun!) Moon 10 Sag Mercury 00 Aries Venus 22 Libra Mars 11 Pisces Jupiter 14 Leo Saturn 2 Cap Uranus 26 Cancer Neptune 16 Pisces Pluto 16 Cap NN 26 Aqua POF 4 Leo First of all our 7th harmonic composite has a Fullmoon (actualy if I make a composite of the two individual 7th harmonics it is a New Moon). Jupiter is angular on the DESC and NN is on the floating IC exact Mars is conjunct Neptune since neither of these relate back to conjunctions in the original composite, they must be true 7th harmonic alignments. There is a little more as well of course, like the Jupiter on the DESC also being the apex of a Yod with the Neptune-Pluto-sextile (yes I noticed that Ava ). This is of course just the 7th harmonic, so the inner world realm or how we would name it. oh the asteroid positions are: Juno 6 Aries Pallas 27 Taurus Vesta 15 Virgo Chiron 28 Libra Ceres 13 Aqua So there is also Juno conjunct Mercury; Vesta opposite Neptune; Ceres on the ASC opposing Jupiter David Cochrane also always checks the direct midpoints of harmonic charts (he would probably do that for the ocmposite as well), so, here goes: Neptune = Juno/Node 0°02 Node = Pluto/Juno 0°10 ASC = Saturn/Neptune 0°13 Pallas = Venus/Saturn 0°13 MC = Pluto/Juno 0°15 Venus = Neptune/Pallas 0°19 ASC = Venus/Pallas 0°19 Ceres = Sun/Venus 0°19 Moon = Jupiter/JUno 0°21 Venus = Uranus/Pluto 0°31 Jupiter = Mars/PLuto 0°32 Uranus = Moon/Mars 0°37 Pallas = IC/Node 0°39 Sun = Venus/PLuto 0°44 Pluto = Sun/MC 0°44 Saturn = Venus/Mars 0°46 (so very disciplined, controlled or focused I suppose) Sun = Mars/MC 0°50 Node = Mars/ASC 0°55 Ceres = Mars/Pluto 0°57 MC = Mars/ASC 0°59 MC = Mars/Ceres 0°59 Jupiter = Sun/Venus 1°10 MC = Neptune /ASC 1°15 Node = Neptune/ASC 1°20 Uranus = Pluto/ASC 1°21 Venus = Sun/Mars 1°22 Sun = Neptune/MC 1°25 Saturn = Venus/Neptune 1°28

Girl, you need to confront Eros. Why 7th harmonic for dreams? I know the septile is otherworldly, but one could argue that dreams are subconscious and actually rooted to our daily lives... Since you didn't come up with especially strong hits here, I'd be curious to know which harmonic transits DID correspond strongly with your corresponding natal harmonic chart... Also now I wonder if there are associations between certain harmonic charts and certain planets. It seems the 9th relates to Venus. I thought maybe the 7th relates to Uranus because both can be spooky, the way they hit you sideways.

Ava"Girl, you need to confront Eros. " LOL "Why 7th harmonic for dreams? I know the septile is otherworldly, but one could argue that dreams are subconscious and actually rooted to our daily lives... " The otherworldliness of the 7th harmonic is actually of this world, just that subconscious content that we usually do not access easily in every day life. So one aspect of the 7th harmonic is dreams, inspiration, psychic stuff. nothing of that comes from any external source but the 7th is actually rooted deeply within us, just as your dreams, subconsciousness or psychic skills are. I think if we are searching for true otherworldliness we would have to look at higher harmonics, maybe the 11th, but actually I think the 13th would be more indicative of that. the 12th harmonic is the last harmonic that is "of this world" in a sense. relating to the semisextile, which is the smallest natural aspect in our zodiac and actually mirroring the zodiac. "Since you didn't come up with especially strong hits here, I'd be curious to know which harmonic transits DID correspond strongly with your corresponding natal harmonic chart... " Yes, I would be curious about that. Having said that the transits to the 7th harmonic composite are exceptional. even on a first glance. "Also now I wonder if there are associations between certain harmonic charts and certain planets." Yeah well I am hesitant about it . It`s not that simple I guess. Also it has been done before, and it seems like any astrolger has a different view on that. lol The 7th for example has been related to Neptune (and also in some ways to Saturn). Possibly someone suggested Uranus as well, though for me honestly there is no purely uranian about the energy of the 7th, the 7th is the introvert version of the extrovert 5th. It goes within, it is also not irrational like Uranus coming up in sparks, but much more calm, quiet, focused, and what we see as irrational is basically a lack of understanding of our own depths, but that is a different kind of irrationality than Uranus has, with its little explosions of brilliant ideas. On the other hand I am sure some serious astrologer will have related it to Uranus too. But so I guess we have a pick of a lot of planets there, and that to me makes it almost arbitrary. The 9th is traditionally related to Jupiter because Jupiter was traditionally related to the act of marriage/ wedding; the reason for that was the strong aspect of society playing a huge role, or marriage changing your status, making you connect with a larger group. well it is about connection, but not necessarily in this Venusian way. We do attribute Venus to the 7th house of course, and so I understand where you are coming from, but well Venus, erm, not sure how to put it, but she is not the golden goddess us astrologer make her out to be either. She has never been about commitment, she is about pleasure, attraction. which is the reason the traditional astrology is not really considering her as the huge marriage goddess. But in our romantic day and age we modified the interpretation a bit, tweaked it here and there so it fit our ideal of a romantic marriage I guess. That might be right, too. Maybe there are many truths. who knows? Not me for sure. lol BTW the number of Venus is the 6. its about sharing happiness and pleasure and harmony (3rd harmonic, the trine, multiplied by 2, needing another person to "work"). the number of 9 (Jupiters number) expands it even more to a broader cycle, involving the community we are living in. But anyway of course there is nothing factual about it, so I guess anyone can pick their choice of association and I could imagine that what our personal interpretation/ association here is, might be actually having to do with which planets are strongly placed in these respective harmonics. Like to me the 7th is not purely Uranian, because actually my 7th is a wild mix of Uranian/NEptunian (in terms of Venus) and Plutonian (in terms of Sun-Moon).

Avaokay, searching for the impressive harmonic links/ transits. 4th harmonic: ------------------ Tr Jupiter opposite Node on 7 Cancer-Cap exact Tr Pallas on 8 Cancer opposite Node Tr Pluto on 9 Cancer opposite Node Tr Mars and Saturn on 1-2 Leo conjunct Uranus on 5 Leo 5th harmonic: ------------------ Tr Mars-saturn on 1-3 Gemini opposite Mercury on 5 Sag Tr NN on 17 Cancer conjunct Pallas on 15 Cancer Tr Uranus on 25 Virgo conjunct Saturn on 24 Virgo Tr Mercury on 11 Cap opposite Chiron on 10 Cancer Tr Venus on 14 Cap opposite Pallas on 15 Cancer Tr Neptune on 6 Aqua widely conjunct Venus on 00 Aqua Tr Eros on 23 Aqua opposite Moon-Mars on 25 Leo 6th harmonic ---------------- Tr Sun on 6 Gemini opposite Jupiter on 7 SAg Tr Uranus on 00 Scorpio conjunct Venus on 6 Scorpio Tr Uranus on 00 Scorpio opposite Mars on 1 Taurus and MC and IC on 29 Aries Tr Pluto on 29 Aqua oposite Mercury on 00 Virgo 8th harmonic ------------------ Tr Jupiter conjunct Nodes on 14 Libra exact Tr Jupiter opposite Moon on 16 Aries Tr Pallas on 17 Libra on Nodes and opposite Moon Tr Pluto on 18 libra on Nodes and opposite Moon Tr Moon on 10 Pisces opposite Chiron on 10 Virgo and Mars on 11 Virgo Tr Nodes on 27 Aries opposite Jupiter on 29 Libra Tr Chiron on 15 Taurus conjunct Venus on 19 Taurus 9th harmonic ------------------- Tr Sun on 9 Cancer conjunct Uranus on 12 Cancer and opposing Eros on 8°55 Cap. LOL Tr Venus on 1 Virgo opposite Moon on 3 Pisces Tr Mars on 2 Libra and SAturn on 5 Libra conjunct Chiron on 00 Libra Tr Neptune on 23 Sag conjunct SN on 23 SAg, Pallas on 22 Sag and Pluto on 21 Sag. lol (Tr Uranus on 16 Aqua square Mercury on 15 Scorpio and MC on 14 Scorpio and Mars on 16 Taurus). but just for the record..... 10th harmonic- ----------------- Tr Sun on 20 Cancer opposite Moon-Mars on 21 Cap Tr Saturn on 6 Leo conjunct Mercury on 10 Leo Tr Moon on 5 Virgo opposite Node on 3 Pisces and NEptune on 9 Pisces Tr Mercury on 23 Libra conjunct Chiron on 20 Libra Tr Venus on 28 Libra conjunct Pallas on 1 Scorpio and opopsite Eros on 29 Aries Tr Nodes on 4 Scorpio conjunct Pallas on 1 Scorpio Tr Eros on 16 Cap widely conjunct Moon-Mars on 21 Cap Tr Uranus on 21 PIsces conjunct Saturn on 19 Pisces opposite Jupiter on 22 Virgo 11th harmonic -------------------- Tr Eros conjunct Pluto on 9 Cap exact opposite Saturn on 6 Cancer Tr Juptier on 27 Pisces oppospite Mars on 26 Virgo 12th harmonic ---------------- Tr Sun on 12 Leo conjunct Jupiter on 14 Leo opposite Venus on 11 Aquarius Tr Jupiter on 21 Cap opposite NOdes on 21 Cap, Pallas on 20 Cancer and Pluto on 18 Cancer - oh right I have aspects between Nodes, Pluto and Pallas nataly too. forgot about that (it is a minor triangle natally, Pallas 9 Aqua, Pluto 9 Libra, NN 9 Sag and Neptune 9 SAg) Tr Pallas on 25 Cap and Tr Pluto on 28 Cap also oppose this and even more so Neptune on 29 Cancer Tr Uranus on 1 Gemini conjunct MC and IC on 29 TAurus, Mars on 2 Gemini opposite Chiron on 00 Sag Tr Chiron on 8 Gemini conjunct Venus on 13 Gemini and opposite Eros on 11 Sag 13th harmonic -------------------- Tr Psyche on 9 Virgo conjunct Moon on 12 Virgo Tr Neptune on 10 Scorpio conjunct Sun on 7 Scorpio Tr Jupiter on1 6 Scorpio conjunct Uranus on 17 Scorpio Tr Pallas on 20 Scorpio and Tr Pluto on 22 Scorpio conjunct Uranus as well Tr Eros on 24 Sag conjunct Chiron on 20 sag Tr Mars on 4 Aqua conjunct Mars on 7 Aqua and Saturn on 10 Aqua Tr Saturn on 8 Aqua conjunct Mars and Saturn - well that is interesting, a Mars-Saturn-mirror through the 13th harmonic, but not very in tune with the dream symbolism Tr Moon on 27 Taurus conjunct Pallas on 29 TAurus So what would you think, which one(s) most appliccable? Personally I find the 9th, 10th and 13th most interesting. What would be your pick? I don't know. I like to think of how all harmonics are active at once, creating a holographic moment of endless complexity...you know it's like music, it can go anywhere...but then certain notes can be resounding and resonant...in this case I lean to the navamsa because it was a personal encounter even if it was a dream... "9th harmonic ------------------- Tr Sun on 9 Cancer conjunct Uranus on 12 Cancer and opposing Eros on 8°55 Cap. LOL "
Why do you always laugh at Eros? Maybe Eros isn't laughing back. "Tr Venus on 1 Virgo opposite Moon on 3 Pisces Tr Mars on 2 Libra and SAturn on 5 Libra conjunct Chiron on 00 Libra Tr Neptune on 23 Sag conjunct SN on 23 SAg, Pallas on 22 Sag and Pluto on 21 Sag. lol (Tr Uranus on 16 Aqua square Mercury on 15 Scorpio and MC on 14 Scorpio and Mars on 16 Taurus)." I like that one because of the tight orbs, inclusion of Pallas and Pluto....I like how you avoid saying Tr Mars on the IC, that is very demure and Victorian of you, just like ignoring Eros. Anyway I guess that is showing up in all 3rd harmonic charts (3, 6, 9, 12, etc) because you have Mars trine IC natally and transiting Mars is applying to their midpoint? The math is above me and I shouldn't even try. Another basic thing to consider is that Priapus is on your natal Pluto, opposing tr sun in your 4th house. More later

Ava"I like to think of how all harmonics are active at once, creating a holographic moment of endless complexity..." ABsolutely, yes. layers on layers on layers.... ".in this case I lean to the navamsa because it was a personal encounter even if it was a dream... " Yes, I saw the navamsa and had that "ping/zing" sense inside, you know the astrological bell that sometimes sounds, if you stumble across that "that´s it, the answer" thing in any chart. So I was laughing, cause it is hilarious how it always seems to lead back to this one. "Why do you always laugh at Eros? Maybe Eros isn't laughing back. " I was laughing cause this was so descriptive. and nope my Eros is certainly not one prone to laughing I guess. 20°59 Cancer conjunct Vertex exact and Saturn by 4 degrees in my 8th house and being on my far Sun/Moon-mp exact, squaring my Chiron. If anything he probably is too serious. "I like that one because of the tight orbs, inclusion of Pallas and Pluto..." Yes, me, too, that was just so fitting. ".I like how you avoid saying Tr Mars on the IC, that is very demure and Victorian of you, just like ignoring Eros. " But not intentionally this time, I just thought that it was clear that if Mercury is on the MC, and oposing Mars, then Mars is on the IC, so I was too lazy to spell it out. "Anyway I guess that is showing up in all 3rd harmonic charts (3, 6, 9, 12, etc) because you have Mars trine IC natally and transiting Mars is applying to their midpoint? " Yes my Mars-IC-trine is VERY close. 12 minutes of orb. And yes that means it resonates - in different ways- through most harmonic charts. 3rd harmonic: Mars on 15 Aries conjunct IC on 14 Aries (it had to be because all trines are conjunct in the 3rd harmonic or related harmonics, like the 9th) 6th harmonic: Mars on 1 Taurus conjunct IC on 29 Aries 9th: Mars on 16 Taurus conjunct IC on 14 Taurus 12th: Mars on 2 Gemini conjunct IC on 29 Taurus

lumina, Thanks for this thread! For my reference (and anyone else who'd like to start with a definition): So, to me, it sounds like the more intense cousin of the 5th harmonic?
|
|
|
Post by lumina on Apr 2, 2020 10:18:30 GMT
12YearsABlob yes, well more intense I do not know, but the 5th harmonic is more ex-pressive, expressing the creativity outwardly, while the 7th harmonic is more turned inwards. I am mostly basing my interpretations of the harmonic charts on Hamblin, Alice Portman and to a great deal David Cochrane, because he conducted extensive researches. Well it happens that they seem a bit contradictory at times, but I think they just highlight different aspects of each harmonics, like the three blind describing an elephant differently, because they focus and touch different parts of the elephant. Most probably the true definition is the common thread in all those slightly varying definitions. "If a septile pattern is formed in the natal chart it is often an indication that a measure of wisdom has been attained by the individual. Septiles give an interest in and ability to comprehend realities other than the norm, so they fit well with the Vertex axis which gives access to other realities. If septile patterns involve outer planets it is usually an indication of a person who quite different to the normal run of humanity. Its negative side is that it can lose touch with the reality that is considered normal. So you find septile series people in science, religion, astrology, research, psychic areas – in fact any area that could be considered deeper or more recondite to the norm for a culture. For instance I know a veterinarian who can easily communicate with most animals, reptiles and birds who has a planet conjunct his 6th house Vertex which is also involved in a big septile-biseptile-triseptile pattern in his natal chart. Septile people are often highly inventive, especially if an outer planet is involved in the pattern. I have found a number of them involved in artificial intelligence areas. Unlike quintile series people, septile series people tend to be quiet, sometimes shy and very modest. Usually only people involved in the same area realise the extent of their considerable abilities and skills. If they have quintiles running off one of the planets involved in the septile pattern they can be highly creative (or destructive) with their knowledge or skill." aliceportman.com/septile-series/7th harmonic starts at around minute 18. Then from the paper (very cool read btw) of his wife: "7TH Harmonic Chart (Saptamsa): The hidden and private side of the person. Inner qualities, the way the person focuses and is disciplined, what they do when alone and quiet. The person’s ability to be mature, focused, and think deeply" www.astrosoftware.com/SAPTAMSA%20AND%20NAVAMSA%20CHARTS.pdfREsearch showed that the 7th harmonic is extremely strong in scientists and mathematicians. So the question came up for me what do scientists and mysticists have in common? My answer: they can focus on one subject at hand for a long time, they go deep into a subject, they are independent thinkers, leaving the traditional way to find some sort of deeper truth (no matter if it is in spiritual realm or in the realm of numbers so to speak). So that to me is that common thread in the definitions of 7th; that inward focus, depth of thinking/ interest, walking some not so traditional paths mentally (also known often as inspiration or fantasy sometimes). The other things fantasy, inspiration, science or whatever, is basically a product of that underlying energy. At least that is my understanding of the 7th harmonic. That it basically encompasses all of that. And hey, my 7th harmonic is possibly one of my most dominant harmonics.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to this thread yet, not the way I planned. Well I got thrown off course because I discovered my husband has a strong septile chart and those descriptions fit him. His 7th has Virgo sun-Jupiter-Uranus (conjunct my 7th ASC-Mars-NN) trine his 7th Cap Mars-Saturn (exact). He is so private that it's hard to talk about him, because he doesn't like it and people wouldn't know how to believe me anyway.

Another perspective on this:
"HARMONIC SEVENTH
The harmonic seventh is said to relate to children and grandchildren. Again, this is not to be taken literally. It refers to the creative projections of the individual in general, which for the majority of us relates to procreation. In this chart we see our creative capacities and the extent to which they can be concretely realized or recognized.
I also like to judge seventh house and relationship issues from this chart. The position of the lord of the seventh and the significator of the seventh, Venus for men and Jupiter for women, in this harmonic can be important."

Yeah well, I know that some astrologers see harmonic charts as symbolic of the houses, cwhich might be influenced by vedic astrology.
But actually The harmonic Charts are a magnifying glass for aspects, the 7th for septile series.
Possi ly depends what you choose. I personally reject the idea of the harmonics symbolizing the houses. Unless doing vedic astrology. But not even there the 7th harmonics relates to relationships.

^Hmm, yeah, I see what you mean.. Well, I have no opinion either way, just using this thread as a repository for information (as long as you don't mind) from various sources..
This site discusses interpretation of the 2nd, 3rd 5th, 7th harmonics based on what those numbers represent:
" 2 represents matter 3 represents spirit 5 represents order (cosmos) 7 represents disorder (chaos) "
"...if you are struggling with the interpretation of a harmonic prime, is to look at the prime x 2. So, if you can't get to grips with a seventh harmonic chart, look at its expression in the fourteenth harmonic. This is the astrological representation of the manifestation of 7.
Here are some ideas:
Fifth harmonic: the principle of order.
Squares in the fifth: challenges or obstructions in the manifestation of order, spur to the manifestation of order.
Second harmonic: material circumstances
Trines in the second: the spiritual significance of these circumstances, path of wealth creation?!
Seventh harmonic: the principle of disorder
Squares in the seventh: sources of profound psychological resistance or challenge, destructive elements or impulses within the personality
I must stress that these are very broad principles. The meaning of individual harmonic charts is only really determined in relation to the natal chart, and the individual's expression of the principles and symbols described in the chart. "

Transiting 7th has Neptune exactly conjunct the NN @ 16 Cap today, exactly on my 7th Venus. Might explain the extreme laziness I feel. Getting stuff done but there's no satisfaction. 12YearsABlob ""HARMONIC SEVENTH The harmonic seventh is said to relate to children and grandchildren. Again, this is not to be taken literally." My father's 7th sun @ 20 Pisces opp moon @ 18 Virgo (real birth time, possibly conjunct my mother's 7th moon), on my 7th nodes (my 7th NN @ 20 Virgo). My 7th NN conjunct his mother's 7th SN @ 24 Virgo; we both have nodes conjunct Mars. My 7th NN @ 20 Virgo conjunct paternal grandfather's 7th Mercury-Pluto @ 19-20 Virgo; maybe this is why I've dreamed of him so vividly. He died before I was born. My father's 7th NN @ 23 Libra on my 7th sun @ 20 Libra. My mother's 7th sun @ 16 Cap exactly conjunct her father's 7th sun, exact on my 7th Venus. This opposes my daughter's 7th moon @ 16 Cancer. My maternal grandmother's 7th NN @ 16 Aqua... My middle son has Mars @ 16 Cap trine IC @ 15 Virgo with NN @ 15 Scorpio conjunct my daughter's 7th sun. These mid degrees come up a lot. Not checking everything but yes there are links. "I also like to judge seventh house and relationship issues from this chart. Omg, so many connections! You can't make that stuff up... And 7 is considered a magical number in many schools of thought. Btw, I know we're not supposed to match it to natals, but your 7H Sun & his NN are on my tropical Sun..
Anyway, based on all that, 7H synastry is going on my list for sure.
Be back later with examples. Well, I'll probably be back with my own chart because I don't have many TOB's.

Don`t think 7th harmonic relates to children or 7th house matters generally. however we do of course have connections/ relationships to our children and other people as well. And if there is strong or compelling 7th harmonic synastry then THAT tells us something quite specific about the nature of this relating.
And I agree it is deep, but of course we have to look up the actual aspects to see in what way. There could be some ntense 7th harmonic synstry, that is not really all that nice. But finding those strong affectionate aspects in the 7th harmonic probably gives it an even deeper, introspective, even fated twist. so not surprised to see this with soulmates
Also 7th harmonic seems to have a lot to say in terms of psychic connections, so psychic phenomena could show up with a strong one pretty insistently.

BTW Ava I love your 7th harmonic synastry both with your husband as well with H, though the Venus-Moon seems extra sweet, gentle, deeply affectionate, but of course with the 7th harmonic a lot happens below surface
