I love Tolle's metaphor here, though perhaps it's not really metaphor, but something with more truth to it....?

Haha, wait, is that a joke? I was thinking there have to be way more states of matter. Vacuum = black hole? I'm seeing search results up to 7 states of matter, with plasma most commonly cited as the 4th state. I don't know how they would all fit with the mind metaphor. Along the lines of presence in nature...it's similar to animism. The idea of a conscious universe appeals to me, and some of my favorite thinkers touch base with that idea. I'll have to listen to this interview again, it's so good: www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Rupert_Sheldrake
