I'm trying to figure out the difference.
Randomly selected quotes....
Unaspected:
Unaspected planets are also called feral or peregrine. Great discussion here:

Unaspected planets sound like singletons in that both conditions create a challenge where our weakness can become a strength. Similar to a natal square but perhaps more critical and influential. This author speaks of unaspected planets as virtual tragedies:
Singleton:
The difference seems to be that the unaspected planet evolves into a place of free creative expression, functions optimally when it improvises the planetary energy in the moment, as it sees fit.
Meanwhile a singleton planet is more constrained to manifest the energy of the planet in a dramatic way, according to its sign, placement, etcetera...it is more insistent on a certain outcome.
Can we say....
Unaspected learns to make the best of being directionless, while...
Singleton learns to make the best of having only one possible direction....?

Unaspected:
It seldom happens that in a natal chart, a planet is totally disconnected from the nine other planets. Why does such a phenomenon rarely occur? It is because the aspects, or links, among planets are given some margin, referred to as orb in the astrological jargon. For instance, a trine between two planets shows that they are separated by an angle of 120 degrees. But the general practice is to accept a discrepancy of approximately 8 degrees, which means that two planets separated by a distance between 112 and 128 degrees are considered to form a trine. Thus, after having looked over all possible aspects, the probability of having a planet forming no aspect with the other planets is very low.
Astrologers have observed that when such a case occurs, the person feels the energy of the unaspected planet in quite a singular way, very jerky and powerful at the same time. Thus, for instance, the famed astrologer Jean-Baptiste Morin de Villefranche wrote that "an unaspected planet heralds that something strange or extraordinary will take place regarding the meanings of the house in which the said planet is posited" (source : l'astrologie selon Morin).
Other astrologers, such as Dane Rudhyar and Alexander Ruperti, explain that unaspected planets bring about more freedom to the people having them in their natal chart, with all its potential danger as well as with all its qualities and forces. The principle of the "wild horse" is often mentioned by most authors in this regard, because the unaspected planet is left to its own devices and can unleash its full power without any limitation. Numerous astrologers have expressed their opinion (Geoffrey Dean, Evangeline Adams, Moore, C.E.O. Carter, Grant Lewi, Bill Tierney, Janis Huntley, Bernard Crozier, etc.). Although their different experiences do not yet allow in the 21st century to decide how unaspected planets should be exactly interpreted, there are nonetheless very interesting common points that must be taken into consideration in order to fine-tune the analysis and interpretation of the natal chart.

Unaspected planets sound like singletons in that both conditions create a challenge where our weakness can become a strength. Similar to a natal square but perhaps more critical and influential. This author speaks of unaspected planets as virtual tragedies:
When we understand the depth of peregrination, for whatever reason, then we begin to understand how desperate – if you like – is the situation for that archetype. If we again liken the peregrinated planetary energy to a person placed in an alien environment then we can quickly grasp some of the very urgent and compelling contingencies of that situation. The person with no home, no security, no means of making themselves understood will be forced to muster enormous focus and energy simply to stay alive. Starvation or hostility are real threats that must be countered, the person that is outcast has to work astoundingly hard just to operate at the level that everyone else simply takes for granted; it is that or perish.
...
Therefore, and if you follow this philosophy, you will be able to grasp the emergent reality which it hints at: within the greatest weakness and difficulty lies our greatest potential strength and peregrination – in whatever guise – prompts the soul to create an imperative, as though it were laid out thus from the instant of birth: a great, wondrous arc leading tentatively to emancipation, if only we have the necessary quality to strike out for its marvellous conclusion.

Singleton:
If a planet happens to be the only one in an element, quality, or house type, that planet is a Singleton and it can funnel all of the “energy” of the horoscope. This planet is often the most important one in the horoscope. In other words, if you just interpret the position of this one planet by sign, house, and aspect, you will get to the “heart of the horoscope”. The effect is the same as if that planet were the only one on one side of the chart.
