Thank you guys! I really enjoy reading your observations and learn a lot from you. I wonder what's your synastry is like, because you two have an amazing synergy. One pick of another, such a great natural flow. Maybe you have Moon/Moon or Moon/Merc. Great stuff!

Thank you midnight ! Yeah, I love this conversation. My Aqua Mercury conjunct the89freespirit 's ASC. He's a Scorpio moon, I'm an 8H Pisces moon. I don't know if our moons are trine, but we share this interest in studying people up close. Honestly I am not as capable of putting what I see into words, so I've appreciated his help tremendously. This is a project I've been wanting to do a long time & it worked out better than I thought possible. Still not finished with Pisces; hope to get to that tonight.

I'm early. the89freespirit , "I have always said that it is a mistake to assume that Pisces people will be so obviously gentle and shy and sensitive. And I used to think that somewhat about the Pisces Ascendants. But, now I am seeing things quite differently in that there is a clear sensitivity and shyness there. It's just that they're not entirely direct about it until you do or say something to throw them off-balance." Yes! I also underestimated Pisces ASC. "You can see that in Oprah telling Whitney about how people thought she was throwing away her gift and in how she reacted (that entire interview does show just how sensitive and vulnerable she was but she also had the Moon in the 1st and trine her Midheaven, as well as Neptune trine her Asc) or Mario being so unable to answer Ellen's last question." Right...clear vulnerability. Totally real, ironically enough...I mean, for all that's said about Pisces and deception, Whitney was willing to let you know that she clocked Bobby Brown over the head with her phone and left him bleeding. It's the kind of thing you don't hear from a lot of people...just like Cash's admission that he lied to and alienated everyone he loved. Strong people own up to their faults but this really takes it to a full extreme. I think it's because Pisces universalizes, and maybe Pisces ASC invites the other person to do the same, by considering them (the Pisces ASC) in a very, very broad light. "I find the ones who aren't as openly sensitive just as fascinating because if you look closely, it's so obvious how much they want to hide that." I also saw that, after watching a few videos I was on the lookout for some kind of breaking point where a much more sensitive nature would show. And I feel like I can almost imagine your friend's behavior as you described it, because it matches that pattern. I think this is one of the clearest markers I've seen in any of the rising signs; I was excited about it because it seems to prove astrology. "So, in many respects, the more seemingly outgoing ones 'fade away' by not coming off as shy as they really are and, therefore, still not actually putting themselves out there. I think because their energy is so over-flowing and easygoing, often to the point of having zero boundaries (another Pisces concept), that they can come off as very outgoing, which is how my best friend can seem, as well. It might even seem like they're your long lost friend or that you've known them for several years already. So many of these people seem so personable." 1000% yes, that's brilliant. When I was young I loved Robert Redford, and I clearly remember that sense he gave me...his energy felt like overflowing kindness, like a balm to my soul. My sister had a friend in college who lived next door to him, and she said he was very kind and never acted like he was better than anyone. "But, I feel like there is a point where they realize they're in over their head and have sent out the wrong signal, making themselves seem more available than they really are. Then, it overwhelms them. For that reason, it makes a lot of sense that the majority of Pisces Risings have the Sagittarius MC. I think, on a public scale, they can bite off far more than they can chew and then just want to run away and hide (which was a running theme in quite a few of these interviews and in a way that seemed more deeply affected than another celebrity saying that)." You really are one of the best astrologers I have read. This is spot on. "It also makes sense that they can use substances to deal with it. Alyssa Sharpe, who also has this Rising, once said in a video that she used to use drinking and partying to get over her shyness. I don't think it necessarily leads to addiction, a la the famous Pisces stereotype. But, I think it can lead to a lot of indulgence but then a lot of abstaining, representing the swimming in two different directions." That makes sense. I didn't really SEE her Pisces ASC until I did this study.... Once, I saw her talking and then just randomly getting more and more emotional until she said something like, "And I have Pisces ASC and that's why I'm going to cry..." At the time I thought, "Nah, she's pretty tough, maybe she is upset about something else and playing it off as a Pisces thing." Now I do believe she just hit that breaking point where the vulnerability is plain as day. To me that is a beautiful thing....though I must admit I'm partly just so relieved it's not me coming unglued like that. My coping mechanisms aren't geared around that particular type of falling apart. Maybe if I could sing like Whitney I would have something to fall back on, to rebuild my ego after losing my balance publicly. "Pisces can easily go to extremes, in its own way. And I do notice the thing about always smiling and at random times. My best friend will do that but in terms of laughing, too. I don't think it's necessarily because they are fully present. I think it's because they are trying so hard to be present because they know they're usually not. So, smiling and laughing are ways to sort of re-connect with people or signal to them that they're still "there", instead of being completely spaced out and not paying attention. But, it often just reveals them to be even spacier because you're just like "what's so funny?" or "why are you smiling?" I believe you, I just didn't have that impression as I was watching. Maybe I was projecting...and of course, each smile was a bit different. Like I said, in person the only Pisces ASC I know is my son, and he's only 7, so his instincts are still pretty natural and honest. And it was so cute, as I was typing up my Pisces ASC notes last night, he was listening to this, his new favorite song, trying to learn all the words by heart and singing to me: Ha I am playing it now and he's serenading me. Well I guess that's it! Thank you so much, the89freespirit, for exploring these ASCs with me! Thanks midnight , whisperix , athena , and anyone I might be forgetting, who participated. Further comments and observations still welcome.

Thanks, Ava and midnight. It has been so much fun doing this. I also hope that we can really keep this thread around so other people can find it useful. I do think you're highly intuitive, Faith, and it must be part of that 8th House Pisces Moon ability to see very subtle yet powerfully telling things. A few of your observations throughout this thread have even broadened my mind and made me notice things that I wasn't noticing before. So, that must be that Mercury conjunct Ascendant in Aquarius synastry at work, then! My Moon is at 8 degrees Scorpio, by the way. And yeah, I actually felt the same way about the Scorpio Risings. I think someone who has their Moon in a sign can really relate to someone who has their Ascendant in the same sign because, beyond obvious reasons, both placements are so instinctual and responsive and conditioned, in their own way (the Moon being emotional and the Ascendant being behavioral). I remember feeling really sorry for Gwyneth when I saw that video for the first time. She does get a lot of hate. I think it's very easy to project on to Pisces Risings. So, if they're not completely cool and perfectly likable, instead doing things like promoting a lifestyle that people can't relate to and going on about things like water having feelings (probably one of the most Pisces Rising things she's ever said), I think the tide can really go the other way. Then, the person becomes a real punching bag. And people always say that Gwyneth thinks she's better than other people. But, to me, she actually doesn't seem that way in her interviews. People just really project on to her the idea that she thinks she's better than other people. A real Pisces problem. Also, I guess the fact that I also have had Neptune transiting my 1st since childhood (when will the madness end??) and have had a progressed Pisces Ascendant for several years helps me to understand them more.

Ah, your moon is conjunct my 6 Scorpio Uranus! So that also ties in with our Aqua ASC-Mercury connection.
LOL, "when will the madness end?"....you wear it well, though! I was wondering why you are so super intuitive yourself. Well you are a Snake ('89) and I'm sure there are lots of reasons. But now I'm putting stock in your pr ASC in Pisces, with tr Neptune in the 1st.
Honestly one of the things I am taking away from this project is a mental note to make more Pisces ASC friends, if possible. They have a real healing effect on me, even just watching them online is cathartic.
Glad you know what I mean about this moon/first house overlay. I can read something and understand it conceptually but experiencing it clear as day is a whole other level of learning.

I'm okay with that, @astrokeen. Eventually you may want to un-sticky it, though. And I'm fine with that, too.

Oh, get a load of that synchronicity! We posted at the same time. Also, you should know, if you don't already, that Bruno Mars is a Pisces Rising, as well. So, your son just might be feeling very drawn to his kindred spirit via that song. I also think it's so nice that you're a Pisces Moon and he has this Rising. It seems like you'll be able to provide him with a supportive environment because of that. And yes, I guess it is quite unexpected just how "real" they come off as being. It's like they're hiding and then they have nothing to hide. Since Pisces is the last sign and has been through everything that every sign has been through, they do seem to have a nothing-to-lose sort of attitude in one way or another, often in terms of their candor (the Sagittarius MC shining through for many of them). Also, Pisces represents one's humanity and how you can be redeemed by honoring it. So, through such unvarnished honesty, they are just showing what makes them human and hoping to make up for their past "sins". Pisces is also the opposite of Virgo, which knows exactly what to say. So, sometimes, they may not know what to say at all and it comes out in very messy but endearing ways, like saying too much. I do know the video that you're talking about. I think Alyssa is a prime example of someone with this Ascendant who tries hard to hide their sensitivity. I think what makes it so obvious is those types can really over-do it (i.e., starting off her channel telling you what she hates about your Sun sign). But, you have to pay attention to the subtle things with them. Beyond all of that bluntness and potential offensiveness, I always had a feeling that she was far more vulnerable than she let on. Neptune is also on her MC, so that plays into it even more. Anyways, yes, this has been great! I'm looking forward to being a much better Rising-sign-guesser now. Thanks for letting me join in with you!

AvaIt is interesting what you said about the smiling eyes in sag rising. As you know i have sag rising, too, and my Mom often recalls that as a Kid I sometimes seemed to be a Bit of a Goblin especially because of that certain glint in my eyes. Btw she meant it positive. Sometimes she refers to that even now, though that espression has only Returned a few years ago. If course my PR ASC is in capricorn now so that Features, too. Still that Look sometimes is in my eyes, usually when i am having a Bad idea or something naughty going through my head, lol

Oh and Brad is a Bit of an Astro brother to me as WE share the same Birthday, though that is the extent of the similiarity . Oh that and the rising Signatur of course. But I have always had a soft Spot for him, even though never really crushed in him. He seemed too much Like a brother. Though in other cases that feeling did Not prevent me from Develop a more profound fascinating, that has also romantische overtones. Lol

Also as you hinter at here and there I think the rising Signatur probably should be read in Kombination with the MC and angular planets, and adding the dispositors or rules of the Angles.
In my case
Asc Sagittarius 7 sag Mars 5 sag Neptune 10 sag conjunct NN 10 sag
Jupiter 11 pisces (conjunct ceres 9 pisces)
And
MC 5 libra Pluto 9 libra
Venus 6 Cap
I guess my sag rising is very entangled and infused with Neptun energy as Well
And in a more Public Sense i habe the weird libra capricorn pluto Mix Up. Maybelline for keeping Up some boundaries. People who meet me in an official context and then get aquainted with a more Personal Me are usually surprised. And should they be allowed into the inner circle of my heart and Home some might be downright startled
Withmy IC in Aries and Mars in sag, albeit conjunct. Neptune. Lol

Just watched the Gwyneth Paltrow Video, did Not think i was going to be affected much, but I just felt so sorry for her. And I will never geht how people think being nasty and mean is some Kind of funny. It is Not. It is just cruel. And stupid actually, showing how little and immature you are.
I mean my sag Mercury occasionally can get over the Line as Well in faules attempts of being funny or deflect something, but never in such an openly Offensive and ugly way i Hope.
And I never forget when i involuntarily Hurt someone by being flipoant Like that and it haunts me for a Long Time an i hate that I caanot make it unsaid. So i Wonder how so These people manage to live with themselves?

His eyes would sparkle and he'd look like he was going to giggle, but often times, he wouldn't say why (12H Scorpio Mercury!) Hahah, I like imagining you like that, thinking bad ideas. My Sag planets encourage this fully.

I also would like to express my thanks to Ava and the89freespirit for their exhaustive and remarkable work on ascendant study. I genuinely feel as if I have a better grasp of sussing out ascendants now because of this thread! In fact there's one person in my life who I've been hemming and hawing about regarding their mystery ASC, always going back and forth on one particular axis. Because of these videos and intuitive insights, I'm positive I know what they are now. I second midnight's suggestion that you two must have remarkable synastry (lots of Uranus contacts perhaps?) - great work guys

So... I had a lightbulb moment reading about that part with Libra - which is my ASC and MC duad - not really standing out, or mostly just described as 'pretty' or 'charming'. Because it reminds me so much of the Classic style of clothing. www.truth-is-beauty.com/blog/style-identities-the-classic"In a Classic face, no one feature jumps out. The nose, eyes, mouth, chin, and forehead aren't remarkably large, or remarkably small, or noticeably close together, or noticeably far apart. Imagine you're a schoolyard bully: what nickname could you make up for that face? If you can't think of anything, you're likely looking at a Classic." Just super thrilled to see overlap between two very different things (astro and style identities). I related to the part of adapting to others as well, though I think that could be a combo with strong Pisces/Neptune/12th house influences, which I have. Been doing that since I was very young and not even on purpose, it just... happens. I guess? For the advanced astro people here, my ASC is in the Sagittarius duad and I relate a LOT to that description as well, especially personality/first impressions, but also having strong, muscular thighs & hips which are ruled by Sag. Jupiter in Cancer - lol I should watch out not to have Jupiter expand in eh... other areas. Stomach pretty much most of my body fat. Now I'm curious which sign would match each of these style identities best.

Initially I thought my boyfriend was a taurus rising - he told me he had done some modelling work years ago. He has the intense scorpio stare too his venus is in scorpio. He has dimple on his back and on his face when smiles. So i thought definitley taurus asc. Any he did tell me his TOB - hes an aquarius asc and his venus is on his MC - on the 10th house side. He has a few planets in his 10th. So i was way off. But he does have some uraniuan traits about him but more in his acting that appearance especially when was younger.
Would the chart ruler house maybe say more about appearance - the physical body? I did wonder once if it was the 10th house(im not being biased lol but isnt this the house of saturn that rules the bones ie our structure?)
sorry for my ramblings
Pls dnt quote
