Heston Blumenthal: Quite a pioneer in his innovative approach to food. Completely unexpected, out of the ordinary, pushing food to a new direction a la dr Mars on the NN grounded in his tropical Saturn.
P.S. Yeah, looks like it's food central today.

Ferran AdriĆ : Father of molecular gastronomy and the reason we have fancy "foams". (Classic natal Sun-Uranus person, inventive and way ahead of his time).
Look at his tropical Mars sandwiched between draco Uranus-Pluto...
P.S. He has the same draco Sun-Moon combo as I, at the same degrees, more or less. No wonder I appreciate the spirit & direction of his work (although I am certainly not alone in that). Draco-draco synastry seems to be like that. An appreciation for the life path chosen and embodied by the other.

David Chang:
Of "Momofuku" fame. Sounds like a swearword, but it is a restaurant. That Sun-Saturn completely explains his managerial style. It's also evident in the way he followed his father's dreams instead of his own, for a very long time. Despite being actively discouraged from the profession, he finally broke out of his old jobs and got into the culinary scene (moon-pluto, chiron-NN - there was some pain associated with that destiny). But as with all Moon-Pluto aspects, once you make the leap to healthy authenticity, it's very rewarding. His dad, along with his friends, helped fund capital for his restaurant (the conjunction is ultimately a supportive aspect, even if harsh).
All that Sag action shows too - he brought (and modernized) Japanese cuisine to a foreign land.

Thanks very much for the charts and insights 12YearsABlob . I had just been thinking of Charlie Trotter as I was making dinner. Wondering how I'd fare in a professional kitchen. Sometimes it seems like a dream job, other times I think the stress is absurd and wouldn't be worth it. Anyway... I noticed that most of these charts you posted have moon-Uranus aspects: Ramsey: Moon conjunct Uranus Preston: Moon conjunct Uranus Blumenthal: Moon conjunct Uranus, wide Chang: looks like draco moon-Uranus opposition on the nodes Eliot: Moon trine Uranus; moon square tropical Uranus Moon, Cancer, hearth & home, kitchen Uranus, Aqua, electric kitchen appliances If those are noon charts, some of this could be inaccurate. Trotter may have moon square Uranus, but again, depends on birth time. I have natal moon conjunct draco Uranus and I might have more types of kitchen machines and gadgets than your average person. (Dehydrator, kombucha-making gear, heavy electric grain mill, wheatgrass juicer, many other specialized tools.) Pls don't quote

Wow, never seen all those items at anybody's place! Sounds fun, it's really cool when people have and use such things. It'd be tough for me to get the hang of *and* use them regularly. They'd probably gather dust. And yeah, I was thinking about aspects to the Moon/Venus. Makes sense, given the profession. I've chosen to look at an inventive bunch, should probably compare with more traditional chefs and see if they have different aspects.
Side note: The Uranus-Pluto in Virgo generation is still kicking ass. They've been the strongest, fastest growing bunch of the last century. So much brain power and resilience packed in that conjunction. They've had the most dramatic changes to contend with, professionally and in terms of lifestyle (they didn't even have personal computers, let alone the internet) - yet they've not only rolled with the punches but also incessantly pushed boundaries everywhere they go. I really admire this lot. #60'sEnvy
